Merger Talk
Clach were in the initial discussions but I think they pulled out of the talks mid 1993. I think they felt they could prosper better as the only Inverness side in the Highland league rather than joining the merged sides.

County threat
The problem for County could be how long will it take for the new players to gel into the team. If Dundee can get run of a few wins, it could make the relegation battle interesting.

Merger Talk
Hard to believe this is almost 20 years ago. So many great memories of Caley, Telford Street and the Howden End, however this Howdender has no regrets about the merger, and the subsequent achievements and successes, in my opinion, vindicate the very difficult and troubled process to complete the merger.

Merger Talk
If my memeory is correct, the last game between Caley and Thistle was in April 94. A certain Billy Urqhart scored the winning goal (despite the small fact that he wasn't a registered player - result!).

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Brilliant news that TB and his management team are staying. If we could now just get Andrew Shinnie and some of the other important players signed up for next season, then we could have a historic season and build something special for next season. The only catch is that the better we do then the more likely that TB will attaract the attention of some other clubs.

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
I fear he is going to go, will be pleasantly surprised if he stays. As for possible replacements, here are some that I strongly do not want: Jimmy Calderwood - vastly overrated John Robertson - Great manager first time around but I don't think he would be the answer again Barry Wilson - not ready yet but could be further down the line Maurice Malpas - he's not a number 1 Anyway hopefully Tel will stay and we can draw breath until the next club comes calling for him.

Derby pitch inspection - GAME OFF
Mr megabucks has taken my earlier thread to heart and is now going to invest in a proper drainage system - better late than never I'm really enjoying that the sheen of the early season County hype has been tarnished and the reality is coming out for public display.

Derby pitch inspection - GAME OFF
Why did their megabucks sugar daddy not spend a few more quid and get a working drainage system for the pitch.

Derek Adams still greetin
He going to get some amount of stick from the main stand tomorrow - can't wait.

Crowd Stats
Poor Dougal, nobody is stupid enough to take the bait. You really must do better.

hearts semi final - easter road
Easter Road is a sensible compromise as a venue and I'm really looking forward to the tie. PS, The Mantis will be having the celebration party for us at his house.

Is Butcher the Man for the Job?
TB should be replaced by Ross Tokely and Grant Munro as his assistant

Hospitality
The Chieftain is owned by Don Lawson of Johhny Foxes, who is a major County backer - so no surprises the hotel is doing this for the County fans.

Owain Tudur Jones
I may be proved wrong once I see the challenge on TV but from where i was sitting in the main stand the tackle deserved a yellow card and no more. I think OTJ had a good game today and will prove to be an asset to the side as the season goes on.

Small crowds? Little wonder!
Have you considered that if you had actually paid to get into the game it just might go some way to improve things on and off the park. The club needs every penny it can get its hands on this season. We as supporters must do everthing we can to maximise its income.

Fund-Raising Ideas
Season ticket holders could choose to buy a match ticket instead of using the season ticket for 1 (or more) match.

Muirfield investment?
That's right. They plan to make an annual investment into ICT.

Muirfield investment?
Yes, Mr Catto has left the building...

squeeky bum time
If we can take 9 points from the next 9 games (33%), which the team is more than capable of, then it would leave Dunfermline needing 19 from a possible 24 to better us. This would be a remarkable but highly unlikely achievement - even with JJ in charge. So on that basis I fully expect us to be in the SPL next season.

Dave Grant
Very sad to hear this news. Condolences to Laura and the family.

A welcome for Rangers next week
Let's not get too smug about the mess Rangers are currently in, we were not too far away from going into Administration ourselves, 12 years ago.
