  1. I will be there with my son, who will not be drinking alcohol and misbehaving. I've taken over that role for the day. The only decision is the Snug (my dad's former local) or Willie Frew's at the tap o' the hill (my former local)
  2. This is such an old chestnut. It's been trawled over time and time again and every time it gets an airing people mutter away, disavow the people who boo but then it just creeps back. The boos, the negativity and the abuse seem to emanate from the same places time and again. Why? You have to ask yourself why you support a football team. Is it a rational choice, or a gut instinct? I know what mine is and it precludes the rational examination of why you support a team through crap results, rubbish weather, numpty tactics, a really bad home strip this year and a board room full of lunatics. And yet you support them by turning up every week, paying your money and shouting yourself hoarse. That's what being a football supporter is about, not moaning at players when they don't reach your personal inflated standards. it's not about heaping vitriol on your manager and it's not about booing your team when they are down. I read that this happens at every club; wake up, it doesn't. It might at Newcastle or Man Utd when it's connected with another board room lunatic or the amount of debt you have, but it's targetted and transient. Not at TCS, it's a permanent fixture. Foran is right. Alex is right. Move on you lot, your'e at the wrong game.
  3. I think it's no bad. The big same colour as the shirt, but with a snotty gloss badge on the front probably looks a lot better close up than in pics (if the adidas russia shirt is anything to go by)
  4. Thank goodness the game's on. Has anyone considered the economic impact on the Innes? I'm going to boost their profits right now.
  5. Why is everyone getting at JT? Every coaching manual tells you that if the full back leaves a hole unattended, the centre back should fill it. Don't care though.

    QOS- GAME OFF

Nah, it's cause it's always raining on him.
  7. Douglas was done for "marking" his six yard line. If you scrape it in line with your post, you know when it's going wide or not. Every keeper does it, they just ain't all dense enough to get caught. Ungentlemanly conduct, so a yellow. We had enough in that game (and the last 2 against them) to win nae bother. griffiths just sold Lionel for the pen, but he can do that to most defenders so no complaints. I thought it was nearly there today. Cest la vie.
  8. Are you winding us up "starchief"? I must have been asleep when the transfer figures were announced! Eh try ?100k for rankin, 100k for Cowie, nothing for black (bosman) nothing for Vigurs (released therefore not entitled to compensation) Rankin Black and Cowie easily worth a million if sold at premium. Sorry, I credited some posters with too much sense of subtlety ...it's like bronzey and goldey, except made of iron... kwaaalitee dude!
  9. Yes they will, they will prob drop more than enough points for us to win the league but then we would need to win nearly every game to do so and it's that part that is never going to happen. We will drop more points throughout the season and wont be close to to Dundee come the end I think. If i were Butcher, i would put this post up in the dressing room somewhere and let them see it, especially the bit in bold as it would be motivation for them. Come on, what is it with the negativity at this club nowadays, even i am confident we CAN WIN THE LEAGUE, now call it madness or whatever you like but i like to be positive. COME ON LADS, YOU CAN DO IT!!! Good post Mahonio, we can only hope Butcher reads this forum. I'm wi you guys here. I've never subscribed to the negativity around here, never will. Win the next two games and everything & anything becomes possible. I'm sure that scumdee are really looking forward to this one, what with the weather and away from families on christmas day etc. We won't get a better chance to get a charge going. Maintain that with our mutant cousinson ne'er day and Mahonio's right. Merry Christmas me hearties!
  10. I'm with bridgender on this one. Saturday is MASSIVE. In terms of it's possible influence on the club (revenue, players staying/ going, the board etc.) it could be one of our biggest games in years. Winning could propel this season forward in a way that no other result could. And please, naysayers, don't tell me that this is impossible after I watched the game at Dens earlier and the first half of the cup final. They are not that far apart. Follow that up with a win against c*unty and Robert is indeed yer Da's brother.
  11. I'm at home here. Good quality fitba banter from caravan dwellers. Imitation, as they say, is the best form of flattery so thank you C*unty for that ringing endorsement. I won't be returning the compliment because I just don't fancy my sister/ cousin/ mother/ dog/ horse. Enjoy your rare glimpse of civilisation on the day, now get back to the dark ages where you belong.
  12. Cannae comment on the game, was in Dundee to see the parents whilst they still live...Just one thing, though: "second would be nice" to quote a previous poster. No, it wouldn't. in fact it would be the worst of all options, not winning but being so close. I really don't think that the Dee will run away with this league - the cup final is ample evidence of that - and I hope these predictions are blown skywards on boxing day.

    Santa's Sack

First off revbirdog, do you want change in the management team, the board or both? It seems that there is a case for pressuring the Board to actively seek increased external funding (rather than go straight to cutting budgets) and to involve the fan base in this. I personally could not name many (if any) of the Board if they were in an ID parade at the polis station. I am unaware of the exact role of our Director of Football (although I would recognise him) So yes, there probably is a case for change at Board level. How do you get this? the present incumbents don't appear willing to shift, or allow anyone else to share at their table. Therefore pressing for incremental change would seem the only way forward, and seeking more inward investment would be a good place to start. I believe that there are people out there who would invest if they were encouraged to do so.
  14. If you are referring to him using the "N" word, yep, it's in there.
  15. I'm very high up in Inverness, me - I work in kinmylies for social work. I know that I' very high up 'cause I can see my house from here.
  16. Could the club not enlist a building firm to change it, even for a bit of advertising space? Let's face it - we need as many fans as we can muster. And the players appreciate a bit of signing. Or to have the singing / terracing area named after them? I reckon this would be a big pull to games. I for one went to Ayr with terracing in mind and county, although we all go to that one regardless. The club could fleabay the seats to raise the cash? Enlist a building firm? Perhaps not. I think that enlisting a recruitment firm (preferably in January) would be a better idea, to fill the quiet areas with fans who would be delighted about the investment on the field (as opposed to concrete) paying off. Seriously, better product + more fans = better atmosphere.
  17. As Don says, are we not rebuilding right now? Are short term fixes like Golly not a sign of that? As for rebuilding the team around Munro and Tokely, is that likely? Both have been (sadly) less than their best this year. Rosscoe looked like a shadow of himself in the 2nd half against Dundee. The rebuilding needs to continue, and the priority seems to be a mobile and skilled central defender (or two) and clearing out some who will clearly not fit in. As for end of the season rebuilding if we don't go up, there will plenty of time for that at the end of the season.
  18. Jeez this is all so predictable. Gringo Jnr has it spot on - any team can beat any other in this league, it's tighter than a ducks. The tactics have improved markedly over the last wee while, and the reliance on the new signinigs that didnae really deliver have lessened. weve been to a final. And yer still no happy. I do however, think that's a good thing (this to the OP and Bridge & Castle) The negativity of some has got so bad from you lot that I sense a real desire from a lot of people to drive you out. You have talked yourself into this position, so you cant really complain when the majority finally tell you to go. Bye!
  19. Half time, I would have been of the "more of the same" persuasion. No point in tightening it up and killing the game for 20 mins on so (which would have been the alternative) because we don't do that sort of thing at all well. I thought it wasnae as daft as first seemed, taking sandshoes off. In the 1st half, he was pinging the ball about, but the ground was definitely getting heavier with all that rain - not great for a nippy wee guy. As for the lateness of the other substitutions, the game was gone. Whoever scored the third one first was the winner and everyone on the pitch knew that. No complaints, no criticisms, I just wish it had been us that got there first.
  20. Talented? they were a genetic "miscalculation" as far as I can see (only thing worse than 1 of them is 2 of them) Thank God they're gone.
  21. C'mon guys, that wasnae a capitulation in the 2nd half. Dundee were always going to have a spell in the game where the would pressure and they capitalised. Sanchez was immense in the first half, but was knackered and liable to be less & less effective as that pitch got wetter. Putting Cox in there to stiffen resistance wasn't a bad idea. What was a bit upsetting was to watch Roscoe & Golly being targetted and embarrassed by their lack of pace, but what options were there? You couldnae shift Proctor, he was doing a great job. My take on Imrie was that he took one for the jerseys. He tracked yon fella for a fair bit before he halfed him, I think to see if anyone else was getting close. If not, he would have been through and 4-2 would have been a travesty. So, a fringe player sacrificing himself might no be such a loss.
  22. Just back, had my curry and I still cannae believe that we lost that. First half - thanks ICT that's the best I've seen in years. Big memory is of Grantie lining up a "hoof" that was actually a pass to sanchez that xabi alonso might have made.Rooney was awsome, Proctor brilliant, but actually every one of them was excellent. Second half, to be fair they changed it and turned the tables big time, anf d we didn't have anyone on field who could react to that but on balance this was a game with nothing in it. Who was saying we were subdued? I've never heard Inverness fans singing "It's just like watching Brazil" and maintaining a sense of humour despite the harrasment of the stewards and polis. Looking at that, it's one of these two sides that are going up and if we add wisely to the squad in January (please Mr. S) then it might just be us. Good craic on HMS Sneck as well.
  23. The muppets have gone too far this time. First Mike Smith, then Brewster, and now they go and bring in Pinochet. It's time for a revolution. I'm with you Stan.
  24. IHE - respect. You have way too much time on your hands.
  25. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I can read the league table and know how and when to use an apostrophe. Small town, small mind. I was at work, I was in a hurry. I am also from Dundee so you were right on one point. get back on your berry bus.
