  1. Maybe when someone said Draper might be heading along a main trunk road out of Inverness, he forgot about the A96!!!
  2. Why we kicking off at 7.30? I know its only 15 mins, but considering its not exactly local for fans to travel to, every little bit helps when trying to attend while keeping a job to pay for it!!!
  3. Having turned up on a Sat morning to by tickets before and having had issues on more than one occasion with - computers aren't working or system is slow, not having change available or just generally not enough staff in place its going to be interesting how this works. For league games then it makes some sense as a large percentage of fans will already have their season tickets, however a game like this wknd where season tickets aren't valid then they need to have as many payment stations available as possible.
  4. If only, its like an obsession on here for some along with negative digs towards our previous manager and brining up the 'm' word. Some just cant let go!!! Dunfermline in the Championship will probably have a higher average home crowd than us this season, may be willing to pay that bit more for a player deemed a star performer at that level, where as for us he would have just been another squad member and financially offered as such. Still time for signings yet, there will be players expecting moves to clubs who will find themselves unattached and having to lower expectations which is hopefully where we can get a good deal on a hungry player keen to prove themselves.
  5. Why? While he had a decent season in a poor DUtd team, he's an aging player that we don not need, in a position we have plenty cover and will probably command too high a precentage of the wage budget IMO which could be better used in areas of the park we are weaker in or on younger talent we can try develop - its not like we have a very young inexperienced side where we need his leadership. Sometimes I'd like to see fans on here looking forwards to new blood at the club instead of the constant calls just to bring aging players back on sentiment.
  6. ^ not see it a positive that a small club like ours is on the radar of a guy who was manager of one of the biggest clubs in England and Europe, clearly must be doing something right if he's heard of us. It's not always necessary to gave and inferiority complex.

    Yogi

^ that sums up some of views of the yogi haters, no matter what the man did or could achieve at the club some will never give him praise. Winning a national cup, runner up in a 2nd and taking our little club into Europe will never rank as high as making our way through the lower leagues of Scotland.

    Foran

Terrible decision and poor suggestions, I don't agree with this philosophy in football that if they are an ex - player they should never considered manager material or they have a connection. Latapay would be a great choice but I don't know the real back ground to his departure so he may not want to come back, otherwise who is out of work and has proven record at this level or we can afford that isn't one of the boring failed examples in Scottish football like shields, Calder wood, Collins etc. Jim mcinally I'd consider to step up but in reality we may have to accept we won't get as good as yogi whoever comes in.
  9. If true then Yogi doesnt understand football either it seems, which is a worry. Offers can be made to any player but if that player or his agent wants to hold out for alternative offers then thats it - you cant force them to sign, if under contract they will run it down, if out of contract they will walk away to elsewhere. The board only have a limitied budget, the manager can only offer so much i terms of the team and ambitions but ultimately its down to the player and agent. I've little insight into the club other than a Sat afternoon but when we offer deals to players from down south who have to relocate, do we also need to offer accomodation be it a flat or house and any other expenses in addition to the salary? We know its hard to get players up here due to the preception of the area and geography/transport links so I'd hope the club does all this to make like easy for any targets - but it all costs and if we do have to offer these 'extras' then that reduces the budget for wages.
  10. At least with Storey off top the Dons, its unlikely that we will be competing with them if interested in Mckay, although that doesnt mean Hearts wont be afterall they were reported to be last summer and many other clubs too. Obviously when asked in the press he said he'd like to come back but thats just good PR, afterall he'd be stupid to say anything negative as that would reflect bacly on him not just with ICT fans but other clubs too. There seems a habit of fans looking back, considering who we should bring back to the club - primarily while I wouldnt mind seeing BM back, I also believe that he will think he can do better now perhaps in terms of playing or club level but certainly in terms of finances.
  11. I see Horner as a young player who may come good, he isn't too bad coming forwards but need to improve a lot defensively, he's not at Raven standards and I feel Josh is wasted at RB but keeping Horner another year isn't the worst idea but this has to be a make or break season. Doran although injured all season, we know he has the ability to create and open up defences - he's the type of offensive player we have missed this year so providing he will be fit its a worthwhile gamble - lets hope he doesn't end up crocked again like Foran/Hogg etc Fisher, its an odd one as we haven't seen anything of him due to injury, he may be good enough at this level or maybe not, can only think after him being around the club for a while now Hughes likes his attitude and temperament seeing him fit into the squad dynamic.
  12. That's a ridiculous statement, there is no way tight Aberdonians will pay train fares when the Megabus is only £1
  13. How does anyone know a contract wasn't discussed either informally (which is likely) or formally, Storey has an agent and between them its probable that they would have wanted to hold out until end of season and see if there were better offers or where he sits with his parent club. Its very easy now to start blaming Yogi or the board for everything but unless anyone has actual facts as to what happens in any of these cases as there are always 3 sides with football.
  14. Lots of rumours yet nobody is brave enough to put a name to the source, very disrespectful to start circulating yet more negatives about the manager. Its obvious there are some who want him out but this is nothing more than a campaign to get more fans on his back. If there are 'sources' in the club willing to break confidentiality about what is going on then perhaps out them - if they are either brave enough or don't care enough about their roles then let everyone know who they are to add credibility to the statements.
  15. He hasn't a proven record at this level, although he played for us it doesn't necessarily make him a good candidate and we don't know who and what are his contacts regarding the quality of players he can bring in? Is this looking backwards and putting sentiment before sense as we still have a manager who regardless if some fans like him or not is still under contract.
  16. Because Yogi's preferred assistant who is under conrtact is Brian Rice, who I would assume is seen as having a proven track record as well as a personal friend to Hughes - so unlikely he would want to sack him to make space for someone. Foran has been out injured long enough to have worked along side, done his badges and try take more control, whether he has done this I don't know, but from my observations on matchday Esson is more involved on the touchline and out of the dugout etc than Foran ever is - maybe its a case that Foran hasn't taken the opportunities given, doesn't have the mindset or isn't deemed good enough by those at the club with more knowledge and insight than us? As for Foran's leadership he has been a bit part player for 2 years with Shinnie & Warren demonstrating plenty qualities to take over the captains role, as a club ambassador while liked by the fans and perhaps the board he has had negative press about his off-field activities. Given his age, salary and contribution if he wants to go then the board should consider it and use the cash wisely to extend deals or replace.
  17. Lets hope not Although I'm not confident he'd have signed for us, it'd be nice to see a player leaving to somewhere not Aberdeen or Dundee. After our apparent non existent scouting, it seems the dons must have the 2nd lowest budget in that department with their annual A96 bus ticket
  18. Was confirmed in the press on Sat that Wedderburn, L.Hughes and Fisher are away, added to D.Williams, Vincent & Raven, with Storey now away back to his parent club and possibility of Foran wanting away too. After watching the Dundee game, I think Paul McGinn would be a good addition at RB, he's also out of contract, much younger than Raven and more proven ability at this level than Horner. With Yogi preferring Josh at RB this probably wont happen but I don't recall seeing Devine confirmed as signing a new deal and its been reported as 'on the table' several time over the last month or more so we may yet get our wish with Josh at CB.

    David Raven

Also odd that there was no address or words said by the manager this season, pretty sure in both previous years yogi gave a wee speech. Great send off for raven, i wish him well for the future as i think his cameo showed he has plenty still to offer at this level, lets hope personally for him he gets a club abd can play a part although hopefully not coming back to haunt us.
  20. First half was the usual pedestrian, tepid approach we are used to and lucky not to have gone behind due to unforced errors from ourselves, considering the possession we created little other than a few long range efforts and Dundee had the best chances. Second half was a lot better display but its telling that after we brought on Raven, we had much more attacking play down the right, better crosses into the box and covering tackles too - Josh is a great player but he doesnt have th engine to get up and down the line, beat a man regullarly and deliver quality crosses - why Yogi doesnt see this and return him to his strongest poistion I dont understand. Our attacking play is too slow still and Vigurs is the biggest culprit whenever he gets the ball he kills any momentum in the movement and slows it right down, thats great is we are under pressure and want to try control the game but not if we are trying to be offensive. Summer will be interesting regarding recuritment so we will need to see who comes in, I was really hoping for some signing news before KO y'day, but still we are waiting on Fon Williams, Doran, Devine who its been reported for weeks have been looking to sign up - these delays are a concern as to how much change we will expect to see.
  21. I'm not an expert on player contracts and have no insight, however I'd expect and from information seen before understand contracts will be until the end of May, especially as the Scottish Cup Final is usually later in the month. Depending on schedule, international competition etc this can vary in date, plus to have any contract that suggests it terminates after last league game would be a massive error for any team who might have made the final.
  22. The dates show the first leg of the play-off involving a Premiership team isn't until next Thurs, we already know its not ICT or DUtd therefore providing any rescheduled game was played by Wed then surely the season will have finished to allow for the play-offs given a completed league campaign?
  23. If this is upheld then while we could benefit, it doesnt change the fact we didnt deserve 3 points or any points in that game, thankfully we may be saved the pain of having to go through replaying the tie. Clearly a bit of a blunder there from DUtd and you would think it would have been spotted within the club.
  24. Interweb suggests he extended his 2 year deal which would have expired around now to have an extra year last summer, so he's under contract til end of nest season. With a year left I guess it depends on whether that board see another year in the Championship under the same stewardship with the gamble with there no longer being a Rangers as being worth it if they don't go up this time.
  25. If Hibs loose to Falkirk or Killie and Hibs it in the cup I cant see them staying with Stubbs - a 3rd year in the 2nd tier. Maybe then we wouldn't need to find money which would make some fans happy.
