  1. Terrible news,so sad for all concerned RIP
  2. For oor annual golf trip we're heading to Gullane and East Lothian, very reasonable for Accom and green fee's compared to doon sooth or abroad , weathers the only prob!! Considering Dusseldorf for a family hol due to direct flights from Sneck, but will need to research accom and food/drink prices more before reaching decision,I think the euro may make it a bit too expensive presently, mebbes have a look at B and B prices at Johnboy's in Nairn!!
  3. Aye, good to get the result, two great finishes, and for long periods looked comfortable but allowed ourselves to get under unnecessary pressure late on,fookin ell, i've had enough of that late late disapointments with club football this week, thank fook Scotland held on but as Ywngie sez, probly all end in tears :thumb04: i wont get my hopes up or book flights for SA just yet
  4. :thumb04: :018: Very good, loved the ping pong, surpised it was an ad for LED telly's,thought it would be for plaaaaaaaaasma
  5. I was involved in a heavy drinking session after the Holland game, can i be suspended from watching tonight Their lack of discipline and commitment could cost us dearly,i hope the rest of the team raise their game to prove a point pished pair banned linky
  6. Johnboy ya daftie ,yer were heading the wrang way over the bridge whit happened to you on Saturday?? Well said Starchief, a lot of folk take a pop at Dundee from their impression driving round the Kingsway or the snide comments of the likes of Frankie Boyle and Tam Cowan, who surely are merely deflecting the far worse problems in their own locale. Broughty Ferry and the west end of Dundee are great places,The town centers vastly improved and many of the schemes are much spruced up.Everyone i know who went to Uni etc loves the place,of course there are issues but there's plenty of positives as well.
  7. Now ehv calmed down i might agree,County could have been 3 up at half time ,but losing(ok a draw but felt like a loss) deep in injury time really hurt today, dont know where the extra time came from , gutted and apparently Scotland lost as well. disnae seeem to matter at all :thumb04:
  8. We've shot ourselves in the foot a wee bit re-aranging this ane the day, as 2 of our best prospects,Andrew Shinnie and Dode Efram are away on international duty , but hopefully Curier and Mcmenamin can do the neccesary,if Colin Camerons fit and playing we'll have a better chance of taking the 3 points.
  9. Thats no the Drouthy Duck yer thinking of is it JB? should think the Mallard will be the refreshment stop of choice, games on, so mebbe see ya there
  10. 12.15 fae Sneck , feel free to join us JB,pitch inspection at 08.30
  11. Make mine a vodka
  12. Thats the problem though Mantis, most of the attemped preservation is totally artificial and the costs incurred for little or no return is obviously starting to irk many.I'd be all for support being given in the western isles and communities where there is a genuine historical connection with Gaelic and the culture but Gaelic medium schools in Perth,Glasgow and Inverness are ludicross. As i've mentioned on here before, my old man is a native speaker ,learning English when he went to Secondary school, and reckons to have never seen one person from the medium system continue there interest and support into adult life, numbers supporting mods etc continue to dwindle and as you say a couple of generations will probably see it gone, sad but inevitable
  13. Should that not read "about" grammar and spelling mistakes?
  14. Should you have the need to phone Porterfield prison,it's comforting to know there's an option to hear all options in Gaelic! i never realised so many offenders were Gaels!!
  15. Being Scottish is about standing at places like Gayfield and Methil freezing to death watching fitba in conditions that fowk would get prosecuted for taking their dog out in,but your with your mates and you know there's a beer and a dram at the end of it. It's about skiing in the cairngorms with gale force winds and the hail stinging yer face till your near greeting, but insisting yer having a great day out, It's about golfing in horizontal rain and no chance of getting a score but you told yer mates you'd be there so here you are,it's about the Scotland rugby team walking slowly out on to Murrayfield and beating them!,it's about humour and passion and knowing their are bigger more powerful, richer nations, but still none of them are as good as Scotland. Most of all it's about the people, great people, warm, generous, honest, friendly fowk with no pretentions Here's tae us, wha's like us.........
  16. Not sure how commercial TV is going to deal with hard drive recorders like Sky+ and freesat +,I very rarely watch programs live now but record and watch even a few minutes after "live" start, allowing me to fast forward through ads. Advertisers obviously realise this a growing habit but how will they encourage viewers to watch their ads?
  17. Eh'v never had to rely on silly superstitions, touchwood.
  18. I hear Mr Brewster was warmly welcomed at Dens yesterday
  19. Not to mention the 60 quid a head subsidy we're chipping in for a full blown gaelic channel. BBC Alba subsidy
  20. All jobs inside the hoose are womens job's,eh take the bins oot coz thats ootside the house
  21. The difference is AF,european signs are bi or multilingual for a reason so tourists and foreign visitors can be informed,Gaelic signing serves no useful purpose other than to kid on the tourists their is some thriving mythical community still useing Gaelic as their only language.Other than small pockets in the western isles where it could possibly be justified the dual signing is in my and most tax payers opinion, a waste of resources. I'm all for preserving history but not for funding the futility of resurecting a lost cause.
  22. Top guy, real gent,ah the very best to Brian
  23. Huge waste of resources which definately causes confusion,i've seen myself many times having to do double takes on bi-lingual signs. Gaelics gone,no amount of road signs,Gaelic medium schools, absurd notions of building villages where gaelic is the only language allowed, etc wont revive it,its gone.
  24. M, ehv got a new and unused Nokia 2310 bought for an older relative who coulnae get the hang of a mobile (sound familiar? )so returned it.yer welcome to a shot of it if it's any use ,gie's a shout
