  1. "Meanwhile, SPL bosses have done a U-turn by admitting Rangers will be allowed to compete in the top flight without an SFA club licence. The club’s failure to submit audited accounts for last year by March 31 breaches the SFA’s club licensing criteria. But yesterday SPL secretary Ian Blair insisted that would not block Rangers from competing in the elite division next season. That’s despite Blair writing to member clubs nine months ago insisting a licence would be essential for any team taking part in the 2012-13 season. That would make the Glasgow giants the only senior club in the country operating without a licence. “Whether clubs do or do not have that licence is not currently relevant to their participation in the SPL. “There is work going on behind the scenes with ourselves, the SFA and the Scottish Football League in order to establish a more unified policy.” Scottish League sources confirmed Rangers would be allowed to enter next season’s League Cup without a licence. The SFA also admitted they would be allowed to take part in their flagship competition, the Scottish Cup, even though their licensing laws suggest they could be kicked out of football. And Under Article 35 it states: “Clubs failing to comply with the requirements of the Club Licensing Procedures shall be liable to a fine, to a suspension, to an expulsion, or such other sanctions as are provided for in the Judicial Panel Protocol.” Meanwhile, on the other side of the Scottish footballing universe,Inverness City get relegated, instead of promoted coz "rules have to be adhered to"! As ever, ya couldnae make it up wi the tubes running the game in Scotland. Maks me
  2. Was out there a few weeks back on a beer and sausage frenzy, Olympic park has stood the test of time well and is still pretty impressive, located beside it are the Olympic swimming pool and ice arena which hosts concerts etc and landscaped gardens, ponds etc, also the comms tower built for the olympics and across the road the BMW factory, good day out touring the lot, works up a fair thirst for the Haufbraue hoose :-)
  3. Watched Buckie V Forres last week and they certainly look title favs now, despite getting the keeper sent off for a stupid retaliation, the 10 men battled and did well to snatch the 3 points.Look forward to watching their champions league games!
  4. Jocky was a legend, he gave height disadvantaged, more rotund athletes everywhere hope RIP Jocky
  5. Sadly, yer right DD, it's all over bar the shouting now, good luck to County, enjoy the derby's next season, great for the highlands.
  6. Shocked to hear of this yesterday, top lad Dave, condolences to L_G and family.
  7. Smart phones!
  8. Not all charge a fortune and some just won't change full stop, but Ryanair seem to be the heftiest. Can understand you being peed off Alex, but yer biting yer nose off a wee bit as there are some great deals with Ryanair if you follow their guidelines,at the end of the day the mistake was yours aye? http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/holidays/article-1689180/Can-you-change-a-name-on-a-plane-ticket.html
  9. Surely we all realise the whole budget flight thing is a big game, sometimes you have them over a barrel,i.e. they have a big plane to fill and you get cheapo seats for £45,which is unrealistically cheap, but if you can fill the criteria and book early you get the bargain, the minute you change a parameter the dynamics change and it's you thats over the barrel and obviously they take the **** to re-coup as much as they can.I'm amazed at the generosity of whats accepted as cabin baggage and still some folk push the boundaries and girn when pulled up and charged upwards of £40 to check in a bag at the gate, but thems the rules. While you see it as simply changing a name on the form, they will argue it's a cancellation of original contract and issuing a new one within a few days of take off thus cost goes up big time, while i empathise with your predicament and circumstances are out with your control the airlines will always milk these situations, mebbes morally wrong but i guess thats (budget) business.....PS,i'm flying with them next week, watch me squealing like a girl if they add any extra charges to my flight! Hopefully ICT do the biz on Sat and make yer trip worthwhile
  10. Their both a point closer than at 19.30 Charles Glasshalffull DSC
  11. I'd tend to agree Charles,it's still very much County's league to throw away,I think Falkirk will be their main challenger, losing Gavin Rae was a massive blow to our challenge. That said we have Falkirk Tuesday then County at Dens on Saturday and whilst undoubtedly a huge ask, a win in both would change the look of the whole league, all things considered,i'm pleasently surprised to be involved in a discussion that allows for the possibility of us winning it!
  12. Hat doffed,sorry to read that, R.I.P.
  13. Terry should throw the towel in
  14. A man in a black coat and jeans is walking around Kinmylies! Jeez, is this what passes for front page journalism these days? http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/News/Dark-Lord-causes-alarm-in-Kinmylies-10022012.htm
  15. This sounds about right, charging under 12's is a nonsense and puts the price of a "family " day out out of the question straight away, better to get the full price of dad (and poss mum) than skin the family once and put them off forever,Neibours a Jambo with 2 youngsters and visited TCS a couple of weeks back, was dismayed to be charged over £50 for the game, he won't be back any time soon
  16. Hmmmmmmm, take away my title and let me keep the zillions in bonuses and pensions or investigate and find the cause and circumstances of financial meltdown and all involved hand back money paid in error.............. Just call me Fred,
  17. Think yer spending too much time on those "specialist" websites Mannie, this ane will do fer me Big well done to Andy yesterday as well, great effort and when English gits are texting me stuff ya know he's getting to them, Grand slam this year pleeeeeze Andy
  18. CaleyD, I think we generally agree on the wider issue and the attitude thing , but surely in a scenario as described above, little bhoy bloggs should just be turned away and refused admission,no?
  19. I appreciate it's a fine line D ,but too often these days stewards in particular and polis to a lesser extent revel in the "i can do and say what i want" attitude, and if you get wound up (even justifiably and put your point politely but forcefully) you are getting huckled. I,m sure with intelligence on serious issues they have a fair handle on where they are looking for offenders, as always seems a big hammer for a small nut.
  20. Scotty, as you know, i have kept an interest and fond eye on ICT over the years having watched both Caley and Thistle in the HL then ICT's climb through the divisions going to many games as a biased "neutral" even sitting in the ICT end (with Dee top on) at Hampden for the Dundee semi,I also went along to the Dunfermline semi etc. However, the continual degrading of the match day experience, hassle, herding, being treated as criminals, came to a head several seasons ago at TCS when i got myself involved in an altercation with the polis for defending a youth they dragged out with his feet off the ground and charged for the "offence" of jumping over the wall to celebrate a goal means i no longer bother and can't think of the last time i went to a game outside the highland league as a neutral. It just aint worth the hassle.
  21. "I want to stop being searched by the cops when going to a football game" .... "you want to stop being searched ... then stop doing (or condoning) illegal or dangerous things that gives them a reason to search you" ..... unfortunately, i reckon many (more) will take the other option...."I want to stop being searched by the cops when going to a football game" .... "you want to stop being searched ...stop going to the football. Just another nail in the "is it really worth it"? coffin i feel
  22. I agree with Sorted, this smacks somewhat of St Mirren doing it just "because we can",but Cellic ar'nae the only supporters being frisked and searched,I notice their semi isn't getting used for practice on the Sunday...... Important message from SFL to Ayr and Killie fans From the SFL official site The Scottish Communities League Cup Semi-Final 2012 Ayr United v Kilmarnock The National Stadium, Hampden Park, Glasgow Saturday 28th January, 2012 Kick-off 1.00 p.m. MESSAGE TO BOTH SETS OF SUPPORTERS re- SEARCH OPERATION “Supporters travelling to Hampden Park on Saturday, 28th January, 2012 are advised to attend earlier than usual due to searching procedures which will be undertaken on entry to the stadium. Hampden Park is a venue for this Summer’s Olympics and there is a requirement from LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games) to carry out a number of test events to trial their search capability prior to the start of the Games. It means that all supporters entering the North Stand of the stadium will be searched at each of the 20 turnstiles there (numbers 30 - 49), to the standard required for the Olympic football events at Hampden Park in July and August, 2012. This will include a ‘meet and greet’ away from the turnstiles where supporters will be required to empty their possessions into an A4 sized plastic bag prior to a full search at the turnstiles. Bag searches will be ushered to one side to prevent any backlog. These search procedures will be carried out in respect of both sets of fans and suitable arrangements are in place for male and female supporters. The co-operation of all supporters will ensure that a smooth, safe passage into the stadium will take place, with no undue delay.”
  23. No, I simply don't see any huge benefits from independence,I'm sure we are perfectly capable of running our own show, but the dismantling and redistribution of services, power etc would be massive.Possibly more devolved powers, but then we must accept less intervention in English matters,I'd be raging if Scots MP's were voting on issues in England that effected me if i'd the misfortune to be English
  24. Colin Bailey now has the option of "your granny or the rules"
