'Fans' at Aberdeen match
I don't understand why everyone is so concerened by what other fans do at the game, surely your there for your own enjoyment, you dont have to bother about anyone else. If you are getting bothered by it then move, its not hard! In regards to the stewarding....personally I have no problem with just about anything that goes on in the stadium (fan wise) as for years its been part and parcel of football. But the boys know every week they are going to get hassle about standing, so why do it? I agree that its wrong, but theres no point in arguing with the stewards, they're not going to turn round and say "after listening to your reasoned argument, you can stand for the rest of the game" They will all just see it as attitude and you'll be out the door sooner. This sense of injustice about how the old firm do it and etc etc is nonsense. Its very hard to chuck out 2500 drunken, abusive and aggressive old firm fans, than it is to chuck out a couple of young lads out of a small friendly crowd. My thoughts are its absolutley ridiculous what some people are getting chucked out for and it does spoil the atmosphere. But you know its going to happen time and time again. So stop playing the victim and coming on here saying its so unfair. It is unfair, but its not going to change!

Matchnight Thread: ICT -V- Celtic
in fairness to lennon, I just listened to his interview in the car on the way home. Did not begrudge us the win one bit, so for once fair play to him. Brilliant performance, could perhaps should have been more!!

Russell Duncan & Grant Munro leaving
vive la revolution!! Whilst all the players who are leaving the club have been fantastic servants, in my eyes the club are doing the right thing letting these players go. In my opinion none of them have been outstanting in the past season and will be among the higher earners at the club having been here for a good few years each. I feel especially sorry for Granty being an Inverness lad. But we don't owe anyone a living and I also wouldn't want the club to be paying big wages for a squad player. Really looking forward to seeing who we bring in and a new look ICT. One thing you can say about Butcher is he has balls and isn't afraid to make a hard decision. Getting rid of these players may get him the sack, on the other hand this might take us to the next level. Next season will be very interesting indeed!

Season ticket 2011-12
I really hope they have some sort of deal for loyalty etc. this year. I generally think season ticket holders dont get a great deal and the price does not match the quality of football. Some premier league teams in England charge similar prices to us for some games!!

Pitch Inspection***GAME OFF***
Game was off due to a waterlogged pitch, end of! Its frustrating yes, but these things happen. Its amazing how many people are world experts on the merits of drainage systems now!!

Pitch Inspection***GAME OFF***
We will definatley not be losing the tv cameras, its an Old Firm away SPL game. They'll play it on a Monday or Thursday if they have to.

Refuseniks
As I was saying - selective use of statistics. But there was an attendance around the 400 mark though as you've proved. Like I say the novelty wore off and towards the end of that season, I believe someone else quoted around 700 on average for the last quarter. Not that any of this matters now, ICT are a successful club now, and have grown their fanbase very well in the last 17 years. Once again those fans who have stayed away have missed an amazing rise and missed out on lots of good times. But I do have a little grudging admiration for some of them who have stuck by what they believe is right for so long!

I'm not trying to get in an argument about it Charles, if they dont want to attend games I don't really care. Nowhere do I say they are "rabid die hard fans" i'm saying that maybe a few were and others were now and again fans. Like I said in 17 years a lot of ICT fans have had kids etc and spread the word and got they're kids and kids friends attending games so attendances have grown steadily over the years. I'm sure you remember the 94/95 season once the initial novelty subsided there were attendances around the 3-400 mark. The flip side of that, the fact there is more than 6 people who dont attend games due to the merger, wether they were die hard fans or now and again fans (from both clubs)its also likely they passed their thoughts onto they're kids and now the kids (some of them at least) don't support ICT. So personally I think the knock on effect has seen ICT lose out on a not insignificant number of fans. Thats all I'm really getting at. Also at my workplace there are indeed at least 20 people who no longer set foot at an ICT game. PM me Charles and i'll let you know where it is and i'm sure you'll agree with me! One last thing, I barely recall anyone who went to highland league games that didn;t have their "big team" and if the merger was the excuse they were looking for to go and watch them more often, then thats fair enough! But I do agree with you that they are not missed. Their money maybe, but they have not hindered ICT in any way and I also agree that the merger was the only way to go forward.

I think some people are burying their head in the sand when it comes to how many people refuse to watch ICT. In my work alone there is at least 20 people, fair enough its a big place and maybe they wouldn't go every week but they would go sometimes at least. As they do with their new teams Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, CLACH! etc. But the thing is, merger was 17 years ago now. Lots of these people will now have kids who also refuse there kids to go to the games. So to say its 6 fans that don't go is wrong, really wrong. I'd say at least 500-1000 people either refuse or are not allowed to go to ICT matches. Not all fans were members or season ticket holders. You didnt need to be at ?1-?2 to get into a game at that time, there wasn't really a massive incentive then. As Charles says was it 226 people who voted against or around that number? Were Caley alone not getting crowds of 2000+ in there scottish cup adventures? Indeed I wasnt a Thistle season ticket holder or member and some of my mates werent either. Some of them havent set foot in an ICT match in Inverness. A bit silly to say then that at most around 100 people arent going to games. When you translate that into money over 17 years, its a lot!!

Yesterdays Attendance
I don't know why everyone gets so worked up about this kind of thread. You don't need to justify your support to anyone, least of all "Dougal"!! Its like the atmosphere, if you want to sit and stay silent, thats your choice. If you want to sing and shout then do it. I really don't know why anyone gets so worked up about it!

Inspirational Songs
It definatley shouldnt be anything to do with traditional scottish music...... just because we're in the Highlands it doesnt mean we have to live up to the usual stereotypes. What about Ecstacy of Gold by Ennio Morricone or Dont Look Back into the sun by the Libertines? Would love a muse song but it would be more suited to an evacuation of the planet and setting up a new civilisation than a football match!!

ICT -V- Aberdeen : Matchnight Thread
I think the fact that none of the Aberdeen players were appealing for anything apart from MacGuire says it all. If the linesman had seen an "elbow" why did he not tell the ref to get the physio on for him. Totatly spoiled what was a decent end to end game at the start. I cant 100% say it wasnt a red but MacGuire certainly likes throwing himself to the deck.

Highland Derby
What a pathetic thread....obviously we aren't going to get a big crowd for a game v Elgin. Massive game to them, should have been a routine dispatch of a lower league club for us. I'm sure the club are delighted we got Elgin as they brought a 1500 fans with them. If it was most 2nd or 3rd division teams the crowd would have been around the 1000 mark. If we're getting angry about crowds, 500 max for mcbains testimonial was a disgrace!!

ICT -V- Kilmarnock : Matchnight Thread
I think this shows there is a serious debate over refereeing in Scottish football. Sitting in the North Stand we could see it wasnt a penalty and that Bryson (the erse) went down in installments. There was an incident with Eric i'd like to see again, looked more of a penalty, naturally as its little Caley no one cares. Of course referee and more importantly as it happened right in front of him the linesman seen nothing. Just like Kilmarnocks penalty, he seen nothing and again was right in front of him. Make no mistake if this happened in a game involving the Old Firm this would be in the papers for a week. Now I'm not saying that Celtic have a point with the "conspiracy" nonsense. But I am saying the quality of refereeing is something to be looked at in Scotland now, I turn up at games expecting the referee to be bad. Also the linesmen don't contribute anything apart from giving offsides and throw ins. They're job is more than that, but to be fair they struggle to give them correctly! We were awful in the 1st half on Wednesday, but the 2nd half was a bit more even. When it got back to 2-1 we looked as though we might do something, but a poor descision by the referee has spoiled the game. Don't get me wrong though, i'm not saying referee's are against us, I'm saying that most teams get a raw deal from referees as they're not good enough. Makes me laugh that the old firm complain the most, they're the teams that get the best deal!

Time to make a stand?
Let them take Butcher and Malpas for minimal compensation.......I hear Brewster is looking to get back into management!!! The nightmare scenario!!

Best ever Caley game

Matchday Thread: ICT v Hearts
My main worry from today is that erse at the back of section E who shouts garbage for 90 mis, might have actually bought a season ticket behind me this season!!!!

Gossip
Not that i even think theres a chance of it but bringing Mike Fraser (Motherwells 3rd!!! choice last season) would be a disaster. I'm sure the lad supports the club etc. but he isn't good enough for SPL and we owe him nothing!!

Can you hear the noise ?
I think the problem is Scottish football in general. Its hard to get that excited about it when what you can achieve in scottish football is limited. I know myself I only join in with the singing if its an away game or a big game at the stadium when its full. The football has to be good too, watching a team defend and not play any football (last 2 seasons in SPL) doesnt add to the atmosphere. Hence last season was so good, atmosphere got better when the team was doing well and playing well. The problem is and always will be, how do you get people excited enough to sing when your watching a meaningless game in March against St Mirren?

Huntly FC v. ICT
enjoyed the game, much better than tuesday nite. Wee boy on the right Andrew Gregg had a good game, looks like a good little player, a little of the zander sutherland about him. Keeper did well also. No Foran or Hayes..... I also thought we'd signed Wayne Rooney but it turned out it was David Chambers, he probably played as well as Rooney did during the World Cup!!

Trialist updates
I would like to see Mackay-Steven myself. But lets not get carried away like last pre-season. The lad has only played 1 game and it was against Clach. This at the moment seems like the ridiculous desperation to get the likes of Eagle and Stratford signed up. I think he could be a handy player but with our finances maybe not worth taking a risk on. He's been without a club for a long time, never started a 1st team game and very injury prone. Some people are expecting him just to walk straight into the SPL. I can see as good as he could be, why butcher isn't taking a risk on him!
