3rd goal was definitely not offside, check out the pic in todays Scotsman. Roberts quite clearly behind Brown and whoever the county defender was. The 2nd goal definitely was offside but it would have been so much clearer for everyone if Tokely hadn't been holding Foran so close to him!! The man is utterly obsessed with Caley, as are most of there fans. Make no mistake they would be happy to finish 9th in the 3rd every season as long as we were below them.
-
I was at the Cowden game, I also remember Tokely going mental then too when Stewarty clipped in that winner!!
-
also who was the last team to win back to back away matches against both halves of the old firm??? Don't know the answer but i'm sure ICTChris could let us know!
-
the rumour has it we'll be 6 figure sum better off by the end of the season once a couple of contracts arent renewed.
-
It happened right in front of the referee and the player put up no complaints. Its a red card regardless of how much of a meal he makes of it.
-
Even if he had signed, if he showed half the form he did last season he'd be away by now anyway!!
-
Lets not get too carried away. We weren't great in the first half and Coventry could easily have had 2 or 3 goals if they'd have taken their chances better. The pace was also significantly slower in the 2nd half, with us bringing on a few subs and coventry only 1. That said, the basics looked better, we were coming short for the ball and trying to play passing football throughout. Cooper looked very good for a youngster. A good win against a team that looked pretty handy in the 1st half. Also I was speaking to some cov fans that were at the game against County and said we looked quite a bit better than they did. So time will tell.

The situation is such a mess i don't think anybody, including experts like ourselves know exactly whats going on. I can't imagine anything is set in stone at the moment, who's playing in what league isn't decided and we're kicking off in 3 weeks, so i'm sure the finer points of money distribution and tv deals aren't known. I'm sure everything will be discussed and negotiated over the coming weeks and months with all parties. I don't know why thats so difficult to grasp also!

I don't understand why this is the only chance for reconstruction, Rangers at the moment (probably only till next week) but at the moment are in Division 3. If that stays as it is, they will have 3 years and ample opportunity to change things for the better and fairly for the game. Chairmen and clubs seems to be caught up in the immediate financial situation surrounding Rangers and not looking at the bigger picture. If the SPL chairmen including our own are angry at anyone, it should be themselves. They shouldn't have been so silly to suggest a league reconstruction vote on the same day the SFL clubs were taking a vote on the extremely emotional issue of Rangers. I don't know about anyone else but the reconstruction bit seemed just to be tacked on to the end of the Rangers vote and was barley discussed before the vote. So there is plenty of time for this to be discussed. If all the clubs pull together and help each other, the game can survive and not only survive but prosper.

Completely agree Chris. Also I have to wonder what 1st, 2nd and 3rd division teams are going to be worse off due to Rangers bringing full houses and probable tv money to their grounds. To my mind the only club in Scotland who will suffer is Celtic. Voting rights, tv deals and the like that the old firm have sought to control since the formation of the SPL would all be lost so they'll be completely desperate to keep them I would think. Hence the reason it doesn't look like there will be a desicion.
-
SPL look to be delaying the vote. Thanks liars
-
We should have nipped in ahead of charles green and bought Rangers, then sold off the ground and murray park. Dare say we would have made a few quid out of that. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if thats what Charles has on his mind too!

Scottish football is as corrupt as Italian football now, at least the Italians look like they try to do something about it. In this country we bend over backwards to ensure the cheats, and thats what they are, ensure the cheats prosper! Also as someone above says, Who exactally is this bad news for??? As far as i'm aware the tv deal is £80m over 4 years and the old firm get 85% of that. Even if its reduced to £15m over 4 years but is split equally, every club bar the old firm will actually be BETTER off!! Get them in division 3 now or this fan will be lost to football in Scotland for good
-
I also noticed this little gem from yesterdays announcement. SPL to give SFL (Rangers) £1m for live tv games. SO they get more money than SPL teams??? Who would have though Mad Vlad was right?
-
Although I agree that we shouldn't pre judge them, they don't sound like the most inspiring signings. Their careers being punted from pillar to post in the lower leagues of England and Spain doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence. We used to bring in players we thought would be good, now we bring in players we hope will be good. The thing thats most annoying for me now, is that we're not a team anymore. We're a collection of individuals brought in for 1 year then its a whole new team again the next season. I look at Dundee Utd, the amount of players they've brought in from lower leagues (even part time) who have come in and been a huge success. I don't understand why we dont look down there for players, i dare say we could afford some players on part time wages who want to go full time. And whisper it, maybe even a 2 year deal!!
-
The powers that be trying to move heaven and earth to make sure the punishment can be watered down at every turn. One season in first division and then its back to as you were. Monotonous processions to the championship year after year after year. I'm sorry Scottish football, dont change things now during your one and only chance you'll ever get, then its bye bye forever.
-
What was the point in denying it weeks ago. Just makes him seem a silly wee boy now.
-
I'll be back if Rangers are in SFL division 3. I dont want to lose my club, but as I keep saying there is no point to league football in Scotland if they are in the SPL. Doesn't look like they will be in the SPL so i'll be down the stadium in the next couple of weeks.
-
If Rangers are out of the SPL, that means they have no voting rights in the SPL. SO if sky do want to renegotiate the deal and say offer half of the £80m, then Celtic have no leverage without there horrible twin. Therefore then money could theoretically be split completely equally making every club bar Celtic much much better off! At the moment of the £80m TV deals bring in, the old firm get 85% of that, which is £68m over 4 years between the 2 clubs. Meaning the other 10 clubs get £12m over 4 years between them, which is £300,000 per season. Absolutley outrageous..... £40 million split evenly over 12 clubs over 4 years equates to just over £800,000 per club per season. Now obviously this is just theoretical, but its possible the clubs could be much better off by getting Rangers out of the league and voting fairly and not completely in the interest of the Old Firm. By having that financial fairness it would make a much more competitive league and more importantly a league with improved quality. When that happens the TV money goes up and we could seriously entertain the idea of a good quality 16 team league. Crowds would be improved, lots of derbies, the national team should improve. Its win win for me but the clubs have to have the foresight and most importantly the balls to say NO, Enoughs enough, and get Rangers out. The funny thing is that when Rangers eventually get back to the SPL all those changes would benefit them, they'll still have huge crowds bringing in more money but at the same time actually getting pushed by teams week in week out which will in turn help them progress in Europe, rather than the mindless procession to the title each season along with Celtic. This has to happen for the sake of the game in this country.
-
This is the one and only chance for Scottish Football to be saved from armaggeddon. If they vote to get rid of them, the clubs can vote for much fairer distribution of the tv money as the old firm will no longer be in charge of all voting concerning the league and therefore the clubs could save themselves from financial meltdown. Also we could possibly get the 16 team league all the fans want. There is so much to gain by doing this, I just hope the clubs can see a positive, fairer, more competetive future ahead of them by doing the right thing. One thing that sticks in the throat about Rangers and has not helped the public feeling towards them, is there utterly undignified and completely classless reaction to any criticism or comment about how the club has been run. Issuing a CVA proposal, then at the same time negotiating with Rino Gattuso is just a massive 2 fingers to everyone. They've disgraced the game in Scotland, devalued an already extremely poor league and gone against the 'ethos' of the game of fair play. They have to and must be punished. Sorry ICT but i have no interest in SPL football if Rangers are in it next season
-
Garbage, because he threw it to the crowd and i caught it!!
-
Inverness is 'a really hard place to come and get anything'........ i think our record over the past 2 years suggests otherwise!
-
I'm sure it will be empty after some time, but as you know moving to a new ground generally does boost the crowds for a while. They are a club that are at least trying to look like they're going somewhere.
-
Not renewed mine either due to the Rangers/SPL debacle..... will renew it if they get huge deduction of points/tv money fairness/ a new voting structure or demotion. If not no SPL for me either. Near a £1000 gone in 4 posts!
