  1. That's what I'm saying, football wise we're as good if not better than Aberdeen. Similar to the butcher and hibs scenario last season. If we had a 2 thirds full stadium for home games I think we could perhaps have pursuaded some of those players to stay/payed them a bit more
  2. Have Aberdeen not just cleared their bank debt and have said that more money will be invested in the playing squad? Also shinnie went to Birmingham City a club with big financial problems of there own so I can't imagine he's on loads. The thing that always sticks in the throat about this is that if they go to Aberdeen they're going to football wise a similar team. If we had the attendances of even half of Aberdeen we'd have a fighting chance of holding onto him. Not only Graeme but perhaps Rooney, Hayes and Andy shinnie too
  3. I wasn't suggesting sorting the shortfall or anything. If I did i'd be working at the club. Like I say I understand the business reasons for what the price is, just saying that the quality of the football in Scotland doesn't justify what the price is.
  4. I can't believe i'm saying this but I actually agree with 'Renegade' that £15 is about right for the standard of football in the SPFL. I understand all about the minimum prices etc but lets be honest with no disrespect to a great team we have for this level this season, that £31 to see any game at TCS is way too much.
  5. Hardly the most reliable source in the world the Daily Star. But i'm 99% sure he'll be away in the summer, lets hope he leaves us with Europe to look forward too
  6. When Graeme leaves he'll get in the squad. Sad but true
  7. People are just bored with football. Ultimately it doesn't mean anything anymore because long gone are the days where any team could win anything. Big clubs stockpiling good and young players, the absolute total greed of the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Celtic, PSG etc, Arab billionaires paying any amount of money for players, players earning near half a million a week, managers constantly sacked, and the ludicrous price of going to a game. I could go on and on. Its just not the game it used to be, its now a business for the top clubs and shareholders to make money and feck everybody (the vast majority of people who love football) else.
  8. Also Andrey Sigthorrson and Simon Davies
  9. In my opinion we still badly need another striker. Mckay looked exhausted towards the end of last season as he has to play every match including cup games. So we need one for cover if anything. I know Foran could play up there but he's not fit and no timescale for him coming back. Watkins I was totally unconvinced about playing up front, it was like no one have ever explained the offside rule to him. That said he is a good player. But still a striker needed, I didn't think we'd actually sign anyone from another team and would probably have to be a free transfer but we do need someone else to challenge Mckay. Whats James McFadden up to? If we got him fit he'd be some signing
  10. to be fair I think that's a bit harsh on Ryan Gauld to say he's struggling. I don't think anyone thought he was being signed to go straight into the first team. He needs time to adjust and develop into the style of football they want him to play.
  11. As he's in the last year of his contract i'd be amazed if they offered £300,000. Try half that and the board will be seriously considering it. Its worrying if he did leave but there appears to be lots of worrying things surrounding the team right now.
  12. We could use someone to plug the leaks at the back also
  13. I also think we're in for a long hard and boring season. We don't look like scoring, the whole point of football. We knock it about back and forth around the defence and midfield keeping the ball nicely but just never look like hurting anyone. You need really creative dynamic centre midfielders, plus width for this style of football to work. We seem to play really narrow now and creative wise we have Greg Tansey. I also don't think we're getting anywhere near the best from Doran, Vincent, and most importantly Christie, who really could be a talent if played correctly. Even Draper we're not getting the best from, hes a combative midfielder and we're asking him to take the ball and be creative and for me he's not that sort of player. Mckay has basically been anonymous since Christmas. Also after the first round of games all teams will well and truly have seen we play one way and that's it, we have few alternatives other than the league cup final tactics of defend defend defend. I gave Yogi the benefit of doubt last season as he hadn't had a chance to sort out what players he wanted to stay and what he wanted to bring in. I honestly thought he would have brought in maybe 2 or 3 of his own signings to help the brand of football he wants to play. But he hasn't and if he doesn't I really do fear we may be in all sorts of trouble this season.
  14. I wont be buying a top I never do. But for the people who do want one this is frustrating for them. It is especially poor as some of the teams were wearing their new top for the last games of last season. We can't even provide a sketch drawing of what it looks like. Lets get adidas in for the next shirt makers, at least we might have some decent gear and on time!
  15. Sounds like he'll be off then. Can't believe he thinks he'll be developing himself or his career by moving to Aberdeen. He should go down south and move to Aberdeen if things don't work out. He's at an age where the next step has to be a positive one, I can't believe that he'd want to move to another Scottish team that are very slightly better than the one he's at. I just can't see how that's going to benefit him. If he moves he needs to play with better players, much better, that'll push him on to the next level. His choice though, we'll replace him
  16. Some people just can't accept there isn't some conspiracy going on behind the scenes at ICT. Involving directors/owners/chairmen/players/managers, hellbent on bringing the club down. Change the record
  17. The pitch is doing us no favours at all. Similar to last season, when the pitches got bad we couldn't play football. But we in general just seemed so lacking in ideas that it was laughable. Something that was hysterical was our defending and trying to control the ball, Mckay all of a sudden seems to have to touch of a pinball machine. Hopefully things can't get much worse and we battle away for a draw or something on Wednesday to give us something to hold onto for Sunday. Aberdeen fans will give them the same backing the Utd fans did today so we're going to have to grow a pair and start battling, that wasn't a Caley Thistle performance today. Being sh1te today isn't enough for some people, obviously theres some backround conspiracy going on. Don't understand what people get from constantly whenever things aren't going right suggesting it. Laughable
  18. Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe no channel is allowed to show live football if its a Champions League night, unless they are showing live Champions League football?
  19. They ran a football special for County in the cup final and also the Caley v Celtic game in 2000, so I would imagine they might this time. Will only get it through to Queen Street though
  20. Fair play to latapy. Swapping Trinidad for Inverness in the middle of winter. He must be keen. Nice to see someone showing such dedication to be here...... For once.
  21. I think there is so much moaning because there was only 1 man who we wanted and we didn't get him. Hartley. Every other name that was mentioned everyone wasn't fully convinced on, someone had a negative for everyone. We've ended up with John Hughes, lets just get on with it now. They're not going to get rid of him due to comments on an internet forum. Lets just hope he can do a good job. Bad news for Yogi is that anything other than 2nd place and at least 1 cup final will be seen by some people as failure. Good luck and I;m glad I'm not in your shoes!!
  22. If you accept the fact Hartley does not want the job who would people have wanted? It seems to me Shiels, Calderwood, Houston, Lazslo are seemed completely unacceptable to most people despite modest success at their clubs. Levein the worst Scotland manager with also just about the worst Scotland players of all time...matt Phillips? No one wanted Chris Sutton and Henrik Larsson didn't have enough top level experience. Paul Sheerin and Barry WIlson wouldn't even be talked about if they hadn't played for us. Robbo, thanks but hes done nothing in his career since leaving us. Kevin MacDonald has done nothing as a manager except for Swindon which he left after 3 or 4 months and again wouldn't even be considered if he wasn't from Inverness. Finally Paul Sturrock and people are moaning about Yogi being a journeyman. What I;m saying, I'm not a massive fan of Yogi either but who else do people suggest we should have got? It doesn't matter who it was, people have negatives for everyone. But Yogi is here now so lets stop moaning and get on with it. If he can get on with Foran straight away he might be a huge success. I've got a feeling the board might want Foran, the captain, to help him settle in, introduce him to the players and the football we play. Fingers crossed anyway!
  23. impressive interviews, presentations and high calibre candidates? Who are they then? I've thought it has been a rather uninspiring list to be honest. I thought you were going to say 4 weeks in and they still haven't employed anyone and we're not getting our 1st choice. If Hartley rejecting is due to contract issues it sounds like we offered him one and rejected it. So we're onto the 2nd choice.
  24. There you go then Hartley is out. Pretty poor that we cant tempt someone from Alloa to come and manage us. His loss though. Yogi will do well if he keeps us playing passing football which I;m sure he will. Good luck to him if he gets it
  25. Calder Tokely Mann Warren Shinnie Wilson Cherry Foran Hayes Stewart Wyness subs Brown, Dods, Foran, Robson, Sheerin, Scott Maclean, Rooney
