  1. The pitch is doing us no favours at all. Similar to last season, when the pitches got bad we couldn't play football. But we in general just seemed so lacking in ideas that it was laughable. Something that was hysterical was our defending and trying to control the ball, Mckay all of a sudden seems to have to touch of a pinball machine. Hopefully things can't get much worse and we battle away for a draw or something on Wednesday to give us something to hold onto for Sunday. Aberdeen fans will give them the same backing the Utd fans did today so we're going to have to grow a pair and start battling, that wasn't a Caley Thistle performance today. Being sh1te today isn't enough for some people, obviously theres some backround conspiracy going on. Don't understand what people get from constantly whenever things aren't going right suggesting it. Laughable
  2. Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe no channel is allowed to show live football if its a Champions League night, unless they are showing live Champions League football?
  3. They ran a football special for County in the cup final and also the Caley v Celtic game in 2000, so I would imagine they might this time. Will only get it through to Queen Street though
  4. Fair play to latapy. Swapping Trinidad for Inverness in the middle of winter. He must be keen. Nice to see someone showing such dedication to be here...... For once.
  5. I think there is so much moaning because there was only 1 man who we wanted and we didn't get him. Hartley. Every other name that was mentioned everyone wasn't fully convinced on, someone had a negative for everyone. We've ended up with John Hughes, lets just get on with it now. They're not going to get rid of him due to comments on an internet forum. Lets just hope he can do a good job. Bad news for Yogi is that anything other than 2nd place and at least 1 cup final will be seen by some people as failure. Good luck and I;m glad I'm not in your shoes!!
  6. If you accept the fact Hartley does not want the job who would people have wanted? It seems to me Shiels, Calderwood, Houston, Lazslo are seemed completely unacceptable to most people despite modest success at their clubs. Levein the worst Scotland manager with also just about the worst Scotland players of all time...matt Phillips? No one wanted Chris Sutton and Henrik Larsson didn't have enough top level experience. Paul Sheerin and Barry WIlson wouldn't even be talked about if they hadn't played for us. Robbo, thanks but hes done nothing in his career since leaving us. Kevin MacDonald has done nothing as a manager except for Swindon which he left after 3 or 4 months and again wouldn't even be considered if he wasn't from Inverness. Finally Paul Sturrock and people are moaning about Yogi being a journeyman. What I;m saying, I'm not a massive fan of Yogi either but who else do people suggest we should have got? It doesn't matter who it was, people have negatives for everyone. But Yogi is here now so lets stop moaning and get on with it. If he can get on with Foran straight away he might be a huge success. I've got a feeling the board might want Foran, the captain, to help him settle in, introduce him to the players and the football we play. Fingers crossed anyway!
  7. impressive interviews, presentations and high calibre candidates? Who are they then? I've thought it has been a rather uninspiring list to be honest. I thought you were going to say 4 weeks in and they still haven't employed anyone and we're not getting our 1st choice. If Hartley rejecting is due to contract issues it sounds like we offered him one and rejected it. So we're onto the 2nd choice.
  8. There you go then Hartley is out. Pretty poor that we cant tempt someone from Alloa to come and manage us. His loss though. Yogi will do well if he keeps us playing passing football which I;m sure he will. Good luck to him if he gets it
  9. Calder Tokely Mann Warren Shinnie Wilson Cherry Foran Hayes Stewart Wyness subs Brown, Dods, Foran, Robson, Sheerin, Scott Maclean, Rooney
  10. i thought Marley Watkins did pretty good, especially in the first half. Kept the ball under pressure in difficult areas really well. That said I still think he'd be suited to playing in the middle. Great 3 points yesterday!
  11. Pretty sporting of Gary Locke http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25037604
  12. Did anyone read Davie Provan's page in the Sun yesterday. 'the Highlanders should dry their eyes and use the BBC TV money to provide free buses for fans'.........utter clown
  13. probably is No thanks. Claimed league one down there was better than spl standard. Probably is
  14. How is Steven Pressley's situation at Coventry? Played lovely football at Falkirk and has carried that on down there. With Coventry's well publicised problems maybe he would fancy a move back home? We have the compensation money to spend!
  15. Faded towards the end but I think thats more to do with us having played 120 minutes on Tuesday night, conditions would have been energy sapping too. Shinnies goal was well worked and he had a really decent game at Right Back. McKay seems to be more tightly marked than ever now and Draper as much as i like him had an absolute shocker today I thought. But today was a good 3 points, not at our best but considering we had a long night on Tuesday a very good result!
  16. Can someone just check now if Danny Wilson is eligible or not!
  17. FP, you've misunderstood what i'm saying, which can happen on an internet forum so let me make it more sensical for you. Obviously i'm not saying we can grow our crowds to 80,000. I'm saying that if the authorities in Dortmund can manage 80,000 crowds (even Hoffenheim who i believe are a village team get larger crowds than us) standing and having a drink then why do we have such a big problem handling 4,000? What i'm getting at is really, there are solutions to help the atmosphere and the experience of going to a game much much more enjoyable. But sadly in the UK there are much more worrying social problems attached to following the German (much better!) model.
  18. I think its because we've become a nation of "you cant do this" and "you can't do that". German Bundesliga clubs have season tickets that are similar or lower priced than us, match tickets can be bought for 10 - 20 Euro for some games, you can stand, have a beer and a bratwurst and watch some great football with some brilliant young homegrown players. If Germany can do it and most top division clubs get 20,000 plus why is it impossible for it to happen in Scotland? It does not make any sense whatsoever. ICT crowds average around 4000, Dortmund is 80,000. As far as i'm aware their is very little danger or crowd trouble and the atmosphere in some of those German grounds is immense. Now if Dortmund can manage a large proportion of those people standing, whilst having a beer and having a good time, why on earth can we not manage the 1000-2000 people who sit behind the goal at TCS? I know i'd buy one if it was £5 quid a pint and i'd only paid £10-£15 to get in, along with a pie or a bratwurt or something. I'm also sure i just wouldn't have one. But obviously like everything it seems to come down to the behaviour of Celtic and Rangers fans. Also because of the way people carry on before and after games in public transport due to drinking and etc etc. Which is a shame becasue it doesn't matter about play-offs and rebranding and all the rest, basically its just exactally the same with Celtic boringly trudging along to the title and to be joined by Rangers in 2 years for the same boring procession. The media claiming its a fantastic fight but in reality its 2 terrible sides in European terms with infintitly more money than any team in the rest of the league. I used to have a season ticket for around 15 years, I still go to the majority of the home games but just not enough to justify my £370 for a season ticket. But as great as last season was and i'm not saying we ever would but the fact we can't ever win the league sort of puts me off and i think fans of a lot of clubs feel the same. Even though in Scottish football terms its amazing to finish 3rd or 4th in real terms its not actually winning anything which is a shame. I think thats the real reason crowds in general have slipped away from the game in Scotland. I see the brave new dawn of SPFL doesn't even have a sponsor! Changes need to happen now and before Rangers get back to the top league, becasue if they do everything will be changed for them and Celtic and their benefit. That really would be the end I think.
  19. Arsenal who famously refuse to break their wage structure to keep hold of Van Persie, Fabregas and Nasri. Paying 10k a week for an 18 year old kid. Don't be silly Also the only amazing thing about this thread is that some posters dont understand sarcasm!
  20. He's no big loss in my opinion, I think he'd probably re-sign with us if we got Europe but we never. The sad thing about the whole situation is that Hibs are even in Europe, fair enough if you win the cup but to be honest they barely even had a shot in the final. To be rewarded with Europe for losing and a team that were top in November and finished in the bottom 6 doesn't reallly seem fair. I'm saying that regardless where we finished, even if we got relegated.
  21. Ryan Donnelly is out of contract at Airdrie. Seem to remember him scoring a load of goals not last season but the one before
  22. "The Andy Barrowman Goalmouth"
  23. Theres a young keeper at Alloa (can't mind his name) thats been getting a lot of praise this season. Hartley was quoted a few weeks ago saying he could easily play at a higher level and it'd be a struggle to hang on to him. Maybe worth a punt? More chance of Fern Britton signing than Richard
  24. In simple terms, the cup runners up if the winner have qualified for Europe get nothing. Used to be that they got into Europe but not any more. Rule was changed after Gretna, Queen of the South and another lower league team got into Europe. Gretna interestingly never beat a SPL team on their way to the final and got Europe so the rule was deemed unfair. IF Celtic win the cup then the European spot goes to the 4th place team. The League Cup winners St Mirren get nothing apart from the trophy. Soooooo come on Celtic............... Obviously unless we're secure in 3rd and County are 4th, in which case come on everyone else!!!!
  25. I don't understand why Neil Doncaster and everyone else involved when asked about a 16 team league says that there will be lost revenue, fewer games etc. If they are so keen on splits, everyone plays each other twice and split into 2 8's making 37 games. Obviously its been thought of but the meagre (in football terms) handouts from Sky and ESPN dictate everything. But then why would they pay proper money for a product that no one is watching. How many people will be watching the game tomorrow?? Most people who are interested will be at the game!!
