  1. Getting rid of Butcher at the moment is a frankly ridiculous suggestion as is taking the club as far as he can. Ok we've had a shocking start to the season, but is up there with the best 2 managers we've had in Pele and Robertson. To my mind Pele in particular was the king of the slow start. There are always 1 or 2 people on here desperate for negative things to happen to try and bulk out they're conspiracy and forcasts of doom at every poor result. We have had a lot of injuries to first team players and we've been stripped of a 20+ a season striker. Any team in the SPL would struggle to score goals without them. Yes we do need a good striker, but like Wenger says, if there was a shop he could go in and get them he would. But there isn't, and if there was we'd be in poundland and even then the sale section! its a very frustrating start to the season but bar last night we haven't been anywhere near playing Brewster-esque football!
  2. The 2nd penalty highlights what is wrong with football now. It is absolutley not a penalty, the slightest of contact sends the largest player on the football pitch crashing down. I remember watching Italia 90 and commentators nearly laughing at the antics of Jurgen Klinsmann. Nowadays though that is completely accepted as part of the game. The diving, cheating and constant greed of the players is now killing the game. They may all shake hands at the end of the game but its far from an honourable game anymore!
  3. No point in moaning about referees, its the same every week. Lets face the fact that we were playing an incredibly poor Rangers team and we couldn't do much against them. McGregor had virtually nothing to do for the whole 90 mins. Defensively I though we were ok, Rangers didn't create much. But last seasons team would have beaten Rangers, and by a few goals i think. We are despratley short up front and we don't look like scoring. In regards to appealing. I'm sure we will and I'm sure the card will be recinded.......not much use now though is it!
  4. I would put money on Terry Butcher being interested. But i'd also put my mortgage on Butcher not being offered the job!
  5. I would think this signing will be announced tomorrow. But if my sources are correct he has signed already. The same source seems to suggest there wont be another striker coming in though!
  6. If he's not near the standard are we not better off trying to develop Gavin Morrison or some under 19's instead?
  7. I don't know if we'll be signing another CB. If we can keep Aldred to the end of the season then I think that might be us in terms of signing players. I understand people being worried because he's young, but if we'd signed danny wilson or grant hanley on loan i think we'd be delighted and they're both under 20. Aldred by all accounts so far looks like a bit of a player so lets give him a chance.
  8. Hilarious as usual. We dont sign someone for the U19's, so obviously there has to be yet another behind the scenes conspiracy. If it wasnt for these shadowy figures lurking in the backround hellbent on bringing the club down from the inside, we'd be in the champions league!!
  9. i would be surprised if we went with the above formation and players. In my opinion our 2 best players in pre-season have been Nick Ross and Shane Sutherland, Ross in particular looking very sharp. He could be a big player for us next season
  10. if, if, if and if occur then yet again its doom for everyone. We have a young player on trial, give them a chance!
  11. As it stands at the moment if Rooney is away. We're weak up front and at centre back, not a great combination.....still 2 months to the end of the window though, so lets stay positive as there must surely be some good signings coming!
  12. I actually think its pretty poor. He's had an offer put to him before christmas and only deciding now after we're back for pre-season training. But then if he'd had an offer for the best part of a year and not signed it, who actually expected him to stay?
  13. So yet again the ludicrous behind the scenes conspiracy theories have been proved wrong. Glad to see the big man staying, don't think it was ever really in doubt!
  14. When according to some on this forum, is there not something sinister going on at the club!! We're not the stonecutters!
  15. I thought I read somewhere he was doing college/uni course that had 1 year left. So he wanted a 1 year part time deal until that was done. Good on him if thats the case.
  16. P & J saying today that we're looking likely to get him on a 1 year deal.
  17. I'll tell you what 2 words don't spring to mind "title" and "challengers". The 2 that instantly sprung to my mind were "ball" and Long".
  18. Dont think Rooney would be too much of a gamble. Reading would get him for free, in premiership terms small wages. Plus if Connor Sammon is in the premiership then Rooney could easily do a job!
  19. haha yes Scotty, spot on.....see also Martin Glancy!
  20. haha yes Chris, I'm sure I can see a few kiddies getting punched in the back next season!
  21. According to the P & J today, he is off to Peterhead. Good luck to Roy, a great servant and hard worker who never got the credit he deserved!
  22. Experience means he knows what to expect from SPL level football before he joins. If he has played in the Premiership that means he has played in a level far beyond the SPL and hopefully will bring that level of football to us. Hence the reason he has experience! He is also young and fit if you are seriously questioning why Butcher isn't playing anymore!!
  23. I would be amazed if we got MacDonald but he would be a fantastic signing. He's got Premiership experience, all I think he needs is regular games and a push in the right direction. Although i'm sure just about all the SPL clubs would be interested in him. But you never know, maybe Alex McDonald can sell us to him!
  24. I currently sit in that area of section E and there are quite a few other season ticket holders around there. Article doesn't make it clear wether we're moving or not. I don't mind moving but if I have too but perhaps the club should do us some sort of deal. Main Stand seat at North Stand season ticket price for one season perhaps. I think that would be a decent gesture by the club.
  25. I don't understand why everyone is so concerened by what other fans do at the game, surely your there for your own enjoyment, you dont have to bother about anyone else. If you are getting bothered by it then move, its not hard! In regards to the stewarding....personally I have no problem with just about anything that goes on in the stadium (fan wise) as for years its been part and parcel of football. But the boys know every week they are going to get hassle about standing, so why do it? I agree that its wrong, but theres no point in arguing with the stewards, they're not going to turn round and say "after listening to your reasoned argument, you can stand for the rest of the game" They will all just see it as attitude and you'll be out the door sooner. This sense of injustice about how the old firm do it and etc etc is nonsense. Its very hard to chuck out 2500 drunken, abusive and aggressive old firm fans, than it is to chuck out a couple of young lads out of a small friendly crowd. My thoughts are its absolutley ridiculous what some people are getting chucked out for and it does spoil the atmosphere. But you know its going to happen time and time again. So stop playing the victim and coming on here saying its so unfair. It is unfair, but its not going to change!
