  1. I suspect that the prospect of retaining our better players would be much enhanced under a different manager.
  2. Ince at least served an appreticeship at lower league level where he was pretty successful. Brewster has only managed in our highest domestic league where he has been woeful with two different clubs one of which was relatively well resourced.
  3. just as
  4. He played pretty well in the home game against Aberdeen when he bagged his hundredth goal for the club.
  5. The difference between our situation and Motherwell's is that Mark McGhee has proved himself a successful manager at a number of clubs both north and south of the border. His track record ought to give Motherwell fans every confidence that he'll be able to turn things around. Craig Brewster, on the other hand, has done nothing as a manager to suggest that he's up to the task of pulling ICT out of the same mire. Which of the two would you want at the helm in a crisis ? !

If he is an SPL level forward then he must have come on leaps and bounds since the days when he ran around like a headless chicken in a County strip. Maybe he has of course.
  7. I've got no problem with Brewster having left for Dundee United, I've got very little difficulty with him allegedly approaching and allegedly trying to unsettle ICT players when he was at Tannadice. Everybody does it. What I do have a problem with is his inability to manage our team competently never mind well.
  8. If indeed there's money to spend then surely the first priority should be to appoint a competent manager who will spend it wisely.
  9. No he isn't. No he isn't but he and his agent have made it clear that he would be very happy to stay if the right offer is made.
  10. very nervous
  11. A true stalwart of both Thistle and ICT. Highland football has lost another great character.
  12. Pity we have to play on Saturday !
  13. :thumb04:
  14. I'm struggling to think of a worse alternative !
  15. Nice to see a positive thread in the main section !
  16. It might also be said that they have one collective view of someone not even on the board Quite !
  17. I'm not anti Brewster. When he was reappointed I sincerely wanted him to succeed as success for him is success for the club but with each passing week it's more and more obvious that, decent man as he may be, he is not a capable manager, coach or tactitian. Football managers live or die by results, it's the nature of the business. On any view, Brewster's performance over two stints as manager at ICT and one at Dundee United is about as poor as you can get. The man is leading us into the first division and shows no sign of finding a reverse gear as far as that downward trend is concerned. In my view, although the vast majority of posters on this site now want Brewster to go, only a very few can be described as "anti Brewster " but virtually to a man or woman they are pro ICT.
  18. If this poll is accurate then the level of support for Brewster has dropped from about 20% to just over 5% in the last 10 days or so.
  19. Thank goodness for small mercies !
  20. They don't have six different thoughts. They are a board and thus have one collective view.
  21. Many happy returns you even older old git !
  22. I'm sure that there are constraints on the manager's budget just as there are with any club. Notwithstanding these limitations we have a very good squad of players who are not being deployed effectively from a tactical point of view and who are not playing to their capabilities. The fault for that lies squarely with the manager who has had more than enough time to remedy things but seems incapable of doing so.
  23. I wouldn't argue with any of that.
  24. An animated or noisy bench is not necessarily a sign of strong management nor is a quiet bench necessarily a sign of weakness. Steve Paterson was not a great shouter or arm waver but was possibly the best manager in our history. The said could be said of Charlie Christie who has the best SPL record of any ICT manager.
  25. I'm fairly ure that we could and indeed would sustain full time football for at least couple of seasons in the first division but as our income would be down by well over a million pounds a year it might be very difficult to remain full time after that. As far as crowds are concerned, the last time we were in the first division we averaged less than 2,000 and I don't see that being very much different this time around.
