There is nothing in this thread that is capable of amounting to defamation, at least not yet. For myself it's very difficult to form an opinion on Mr Smith as he adopts such a low profile. Why should top six be beyond us ? Our resourses are broadly similar now to Kilmarnock's. We might not make top six but it is certainly not beyond us to do so and is, in my opinion, a very realistic ambition.

I agree, quite properly our ambition until now has been to merely to avoid relegation. In my opinion, next seson we should aim to raise the bar with the target, from day one, being a top six finish.

With Don Cowie coming in we're very well covered in midfield. We need one or two experienced defenders and another forward, two if we have to replace Dargo. So I don't on the whole see anything wrong with the statement.

A satisfactory season of consolodation with some highs and some lows such as Rankin's last minute winnr against Rangers balanced with the gony of losing out to Celtic in the last two minutes of the cup quarter final after looking comfortable all afternoon. Next season we need to push on to our first top six finish after pushing on the door for the past three seasons.
