  1. I'ts a bit of a chicken and egg situation. Because this side of things has been neglected for so long and because of the dire fare on offer home crowds are tumbling so there may in fact be no spare income to find a salary for Barry, or indeed anyone else to occupy such a position benificial as it maybe.
  2. I think Duff's confidence took a knock after his untypically poor performance for the Scottish under 21 team. Playing him out of his comfort zone will not improve matters and may set his progress back a great deal which is a shame as the lad is a genuine prospect when played in his proper position.
  3. Even if the board were failing to back any realistic bid to sign players or extend existing contracts, that does not explain the tactical shambles we are forced to witness all too often these days. That can be nobody's fault other than the manager. I feel sorry for anyone facing the prospect of losing their job especially if they'veno realistic prospect of getting another in the same line of business but if Brewster takes the club into the first division then many more than him will be looking for work as the club are forced to cut wage bills both on and off the field.
  4. soon
  5. Thank god for that we need to make money somehow to compensate for the falling gates !
  6. Doesn't sound like the seasoned experienced professional we're clearly crying out for up front.
  7. Together with at least a couple in England.
  8. That's not actually the case. You of all people! You are indeed correct. The decision is not to renew his contract.
  9. Best bet is to phone Pittodrie and order over the 'phone. Aberdeen usually come close to selling out the away stand. Although, as other posters have said, you'll find plenty of space in the home stands after recent events. I'm betting that this will be the first SPL match against the Dons to attract a crowd of less than 6,000.
  10. How about Craig Brown with Barry Wilson as his assistant learning the ropes ? That said, my personal preference would still be Gordon Chisholm.
  11. That was certainly what I thought.
  12. Having had the night to reflect on the news I have to say that I'm every bit as disappointed as I was last night. The decision to terminate Barry's contract in the middle of this extrememy difficult season is not rational on any view.
  13. Thanks for many many happy memories. My personal favourite was your goal against St Johnstone which sealed our promotion to the SPL. I'm profoundly sorry that your time at the TCS cut short by a man who might have been your equal or even your better as a player but who is clearly lacking in any man management ability, or even decent humanity, whatsoever. Go away now and hone your coaching skills and come back one day and let us all cheer you to Hampden's lofty rafters as you become the first ICT manager to lift the Scottish Cup. Best of luck for the future Barry and, once again, thanks for the countless memories.
  14. There are clearly problems at the club going beyond the manager but the main problem at the moment is that Craig Brewster is on course to do to ICT what he so nearly did to Dundee United before the late Eddie Thomson took decisive action. If our board are not equally decisive we will be playing first division football having alenated yet more of our best players and a good number of fans now including myself.
  15. I've never been a fan of Brewster as a manager but until today I was prepared to give him the benifit of a growing number of doubts but no longer. Craig you are rapidly destroying our club and alienating long standing supporters. Go now for goodness sake before it's too late. I, for one, have no condidence whatsoever in your abilty to manage on any level anymore.
  16. As I've indicated on the Barry Wilson thread, that's it as far as I'm concerned. I'm not attending another match as long as Brewster remains as manager.
  17. A disgraceful decision which isn't merited in footballing terms and even if it was is not justified given Barry's contribution to the club over the years. As far as I'm concerned that's the last straw. It may not be important to the club in the whole scheme of things but I and my family will not be returning to the TCS as long as Mr Brewster remains as (mis)manager.
  18. I'd put him in the top five certainly. Probably the best uncapped Scot of his time.
  19. What the journalists seem to fail to appreciate is that the club needs them and the publicity they generate every bit as much as they need the club as a source of copy. They can afford to be just a bit more critical.
  20. Although there has been some negative press I personally have always found our esteemed sponsors to be friendly and reliable.
  21. The fact that Rory does so well for the reserves but can never turn it on in the first team suggests thst the first or second division may well be his level.
  22. Congratulations to them. Maybe there will be a brighter and more entertaining future.
  23. The local press need to be a lot more objective in their reporting rather than simply reporting the club line on issues.
  24. I've never had a season ticket but used to make the effort to attend most home games. I'm bound to say that after last week, although I'm committed to going to the Aberden game I'm not sure that I'll be making the effort too many more times this season unless there's a dramatic change of direction.
