  1. I would back an 18 team top division even if it did mean more limited income.
  2. Whilst I would like to see County avoid the drop, on current form they must be favourites for the automatic relegation spot.
  3. Brian Thompson
  4. Unless views have hanged markedly since my poll thread three weeks ago there seems to be a strong preference for Grant Munro.
  5. Nice to see a professional footballer who is older than myself, if only just.
  6. Does Brechin not have a greater population than Dingwall ? Anyway, the village of Gretna is smaller than both.
  7. Kingsmills replied to L_G's topic in Caley Thistle
I would like to see the boy given another season to establish himself, he clearly has potential.
  8. Dargo, who earns his living from playing football, wants to wait to see if he has any options at the end of his current contract, what's wrong with that ? If nothing better is offered I'm sure he will stay with us and continue, injuries permiting, to be on of our most skillful players. If on the othr hand some other team ofers him much better terms he's likely to take them, who wouln't in the same circumstances ?
  9. Is Ian Black not suspended ?
  10. Kingsmills replied to Libero's topic in Caley Thistle
I suspect that if St Johnstone don't get promoted they will not be that hard to deal with.
  11. Kingsmills replied to Libero's topic in Caley Thistle
I agree that all the St Johnstone players mentioned are wothy of consideration.
  12. Three more points in the bag.
  13. Why not ! Scotland to shock Italy and ICT to complete the treble ovr Rangers.
  14. There would have been a lot more in the kitty if we'd managed to hang on to beat Celtic.
  15. I would back Charlie for next season, my only concern is whether he himself has the confidence thst he's up to the task.
  16. Might be an interesting finale to the season if the Pars are still battling it out with St Mirren to avoid the drop.
  17. Nothing at Tynecastle is surprising anymore.
  18. There's no doubt that the club face a challenge this summer and that Charlie has made mistakes but who hasn't in their professional lives ? However, in my opinion Charlie Christie is an able, if as yet inexperienced, manager who will improve. I for one hope that he is there next season managing, for the first time, a team that will be largely his own creation. However, if he personally, for whatever reason, doesn't feel up to the task he should resign sooner rather than later and if he chose to do so he could walk awaywith his head held high. That said, it seems to me that the whole story is a storm in a teacup arising out of the leaking of some imprudent and heated exchanges after a very disappointing and surprising defeat.
  19. What a daft idea !
  20. Or a team from the Borders perhaps for a bit of geographical balance.
  21. This thread promtoed me to watch Football Focus for the first time in a long time. Quite apart from the disappointment of the non appearance of the ICT item, I was quite aghast that the flagship football magazine programme on the United Kingdom's publicly funded broascasting medium devoted all of 14 seconds to scottish football and that on the eve of a major national cup final for which the BBC had broacasting rights. Shameful !
  22. Nearly a thousand more than might otherwise have been expected. A qualified success I would say.
  23. Charlie's biggest test as a manager so far will come in the close season when we will have the greatest team rebuilding challenge since Pele took over from Baltacha at the end of our first season. How Charlie's team fares in the first half of next season will be crucial to his future at the club. He should be given at least until the january transfer window to prove himself. If by then we are struggling at or towards the foot of the table his position should be reviewed but not unless and until we reach that point.
  24. He has potential although he's not SPL quality just yet.
