Who's going to manage the two teams, is it Terry v Mo? I'd like to see Renegade given one of the teams so that we can see those legendary formations in action.
-
For me it's all about next season now. Give all the youngsters a game, along with any players the manager is still undecided about. As for the bit about affecting who gets relegated - well, if we end up fielding our weakest team against Hamilton and severely p1ss off St Mirren and their fans, so much the better.
-
We all know about the manager's taste in wine, but what about the real hard stuff? His wikipedia page has a reference to this old article from Classic Rock magazine, in which he names Iron Maiden as his favourite band and discusses his personal acquaintance with the band. Just when I thought I couldn't admire him any more. Terry on Steve Harris Maybe Terry could persuade them to play at the end of season party. And I know I've told this story before, but when Terry was playing for Rangers he was stood right behind me at a Motley Crue gig at the Edinburgh Playhouse. He left early, and I don't blame him.
-
Ah, right. Good chance to remind us all that Dundee aren't in the top flight
-
We are in the enviable position of having two games left where there is nothing at stake, as our league position and prize money are already determined. What do you think should be Terry's top priority when it comes to team selection?
-
If anybody catches Terry's attention in this trial, is there anything to stop them being played as a trialist against Hamilton to see how they perform in a more realistic environment?
-
I think the split is a good thing overall. What have we been playing for in the last 6 months? What have we been discussing all the time? Without the split, most of our season would have been a series of meaningless friendlies, with no chance of the title or Europe, and no chance of relegation. How dull would that have been?
-
I wouldn't recommend this, but there's still an option - just field him anyway, and take a penalty for fielding an ineligible player. It's been done before!
-
Delighted to hear he played well again. But can anyone explain why he seldom demonstrated his importance to the team earlier in the season? The obvious explanation is that he is now fighting hard to win a next contract (either here or elsewhere) but does that not sort of suggest that he wasn't giving 100% previously?

Did anyone hear Billy Dodds on Radio Scotland this evening? Kept going on and on and on about the pitch being a vital factor, and how he bets that Terry asked for it not to be rolled or watered, as he probably wanted it to be as dry and bumpy as possible. He didn't give the team any of the credit that they so clearly deserve, and even argued that "Inverness didn't play any football last night". What an utter tool.

According to the Daily Record George Adams spoke to Grant on Tuesday night with the view to further talks . Sounds like the prospect of moving to County was the kick up the backside he needed to put in a great performance and fight for his place here.

I love the way the North Stand knew Grant had scored as soon as he struck the ball

I'm trying to remember, do we have any examples of a player being told they are leaving but the club then doing a u-turn? There are certainly examples of players being out of contention, or farmed out on loan, but then battling their way back into the managers plans, but I'm not sure if anyone has been publicly released and then offered another contract.

In a further development, Sir Terence "The Butcher" last night celebrate victory after launching a serious of audacious attacks on the much feared Parkhid tribe, a fierce but primitive faction who live in caves in the west. "I sent in an elite squad of special forces and they didn't let me down" said the commander proudly. But media attention quickly focused on whether or not it would be appropriate to release a photo of vanquished tribal leader, Lennon. "I've seen the photo of his face" said Butcher. "And it's a truly gruesome sight, all hideous and contorted. To release that picture into the public domain would be distasteful and disturbing. And you've got to consider the impact an image like that would have on children who might see it. There could be lasting damage." "Followers of Lennon are also making the point that releasing the photo would be seen as parading a trophy. But I would suggest it's the only trophy they'd be seeing any time soon" he quipped.

Blimey, I wasn't expecting that. Great stuff, well done to the entire team for that performance. And well done to any fans who had the belief to back us 11/1. Wish I'd been so brave.

Perhaps he's putting out an appeal for players for next season. No experience necessary!

I thought we'd want to keep Hogg - maybe we did but there was too big a gap in the salary expectations? Not surprised about the other departures confirmed today. We all had high hopes of Gil when he arrived, but what a let down. Delighted Rossco is entitled to stay, but I wonder what would have happened if he hadn't triggered that clause?

In a surprise attack yesterday, special forces commanded by military chief Sir Terence Butcher were finally successful in their mission to assassinate Grant Munro and Russell Duncan. It is thought that Munro and Duncan had been hiding out in a remote and mountainous part of Scotland for the last 10 years. Much of that time was thought to have been spent at a training camp east of Inverness, where the football fundamentalists attempted to radicalise other recruits into believing passionately in their cause. In addition to reading sacred texts from the Kerrang, the pair were known to pray 4 times a day in the direction of Mosstodloch in honour of their mastermind, known simply as Pele. Pele is understood to be the spiritual leader of the group of known as Al Qaholica, for whom the Highland region has long been a fertile recruiting ground. In a bizarre ritual, sympathisers and followers are understood to congregate regularly in known meeting spots, chanting Qhali repeatedly after consuming vast quantities of intoxicating liquor. Another of Peles henchmen, known as Ross Tokely, is understood to have escaped. Ive been after Tokely for years sighed a disappointed Butcher. We located him and sent in the helicopters to take him down, but he swatted them away like flies. I then implemented plan B, which was to call in air strikes. At first we thought they were having an effect, but then it became apparent that Tokelys reaction was simply laughter because the missiles were a bit tickly. Hes got away for now, but believe me, Ill be doing everything I can to get him as soon as I can, and the same goes for any other Pele sympathisers I come across. Roy? Golly? Nobody is a better manager than me, is that clear? Butcher himself had a long and distinguished military career, seeing active service in warzones such as Govan. He notably received a commendation for bravery after losing all his limbs in the midst of a battle but insisting that a simple bandage would enable him to carry on. Commenting further on yesterdays successful operation, Butcher added This mission to get Munro and Duncan was a long time in the making, and Tulloch Caledonian Stadium will be a better place without them. Munro thought he was getting a new contract but it was a simple misunderstanding after I said was I was taking out a contract on him. He was the one I really wanted because he was leader of this cell and Ive tried to take him down before, but Duncan had been protecting him for years, thwarting numerous attacks. Id also seen horrific videos on the web of these guys in action. Some of the ones featuring Duncan portray absolutely shocking scenes of heading. Another detail of the operation to emerge is that the initial plan was for it to be carried out by a crack Israeli unit. But sadly, he got injured.....again said Butcher. In fact even when hes not injured, hes actually pretty ineffective, but well see, I might give him another few years just cos I hired him and hes not one of Peles followers. The whereabouts of the remains of Munro and Duncan was the subject of much speculation, but Butcher confirms that they were taken out into the Moray Firth at night and pushed out of the back of a dolphin cruise boat, in accordance with strict local custom. But this hasnt stopped conspiracy theorists speculating that the two will somehow come back to haunt Butcher. When asked if his next mission would be to tackle a group of Irish Republicans believed to be a potent attacking threat operating in the Inverness area, Butcher quickly gets up to leave the press conference and makes for the door with fear evident in his eyes. Kinell, I aint messing with the likes of Ritchie Foran! Fundamendalists, no bother. Mentalists like that, no chance!

If you consider form over the last 5 or so months, we are clearly one of the very bottom teams in the SPL. So a relegation battle is very much on the cards for next season unless we: A - bring in better players than the ones we've got, OR B - get a better manager than the one we've got. Whilst Butcher has made mistakes, very few people would suggest he should be sacked. Which, unfortunately, leaves major changes to the playing squad as the only realistic option if we want to improve.

If that's true, all I can say is WTF! :amazed:The only pre-butcher regulars left off the top of my head wud be Esson and Tokley. Big difference here. If Rooney is indeed going then it's because it's the player's choice, not because Terry doesn't want him. I believe he was made a good offer and the ball is/was in his court.
