  1. In one of the papers yesterday Brew was saying we still need "one or two" new signings. He's no managerial genius, but I'm sure even he realises that sorting the defence out is priority, even if he won't say so publicly.
  2. Of the 6 pundits at the Sunday Times, 2 have us bottom, 2 11th and 2 10th. They also have Brew as the manager 2nd most likely to get the chop (Hearts guy first, obviously)
  3. Whichever bid(s) ICT chose to accept plays a bigger part! I'm sure you will agree it was very fair and reasonable of the board to allow Marius to go to the club of his choice, to ICT's financial disadvantage. You might also like to remind him that ICT is not a plc, and does not pay dividends to shareholders. What money they have goes into maintaining the best possible team on the pitch for the benefit of the fans. You know, the people he thinks so highly of? They are the ones who will ultimately suffer if Marius ends up getting the money that he had agreed to waive.
  4. Stevico, from what I can gather, you appear to be the person who represents Niculae on legal, contractual and financial matters, including his most recent transfer and the accompanying saga. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Doesn't that effectively make you, to all intents and purposes, his agent? I note that earlier you stated that you were a friend but not his agent, but you would perhaps have to say that because agents have to be licensed and insured, don't they? Perhaps you can clarify who Niculae's agent is, and what role he actually plays.
  5. Good work guys! I too miss the list of most recent posts being on the main forum page. Also, is it possible to get the warning that someone else has posted on a thread since you started typing your response? I'm not keen on the default of quoting the post being replied to. Clutters up the thread a bit.
  6. I appreciate the responses you have provided. However it is very clear from them that Marius DID agree to waive a contractual entitlement. Perhaps he agreed to waive his cut of the fee, then the amount of the fee changed to 500,000 hence you specifically pointing out that he did not agree to waive his cut of that fee? I trust that if the matter progresses further, both you and Marius will be entirely open and honest about what was agreed. Or should that say "a greed"?
  7. What did he agree to waive then? The 2nd signing on fee? Can you categorically state that he did not verbally agree to waive any contractual entitlement whatsoever?
  8. OK, but you can't read too much into what people say in the press, and you certainly can't base your case on it. Perhaps Bennett was wanting to lower fans expectations that there would be loads of money in the kitty for new transfers? Perhaps he was really referring to the 2nd signing on fee. Only he can answer that. But it is well known that ICT are pretty cack-handed when it comes to press communications!
  9. Steve, it is generally accepted that Marius' contract with ICT entitled him to a cut. However, at no stage in your statement do you deny that Marius verbally agreed to waive it. That speaks volumes.
  10. All in all it probably works out at over ?7k per week (salary ?100k + 2 sign-on instalments of say ?70k each + cut of transfer ?130k) CaleyyD, I didn't hear what the club said today. Are they no longer arging that Marius agreed to waive his cut if we accepted the lower offer from Dinamo? Whatever it is, ICT lost their main bargaining chip when they eventually had to condede on transferring the registration. The only remaining bargaining chip is that we are currently in possession of the money he wants. Normally that puts us in a strong negotiating position, but with it now seeming to be an employment law matter, there will only be one winner.
  11. I noticed earlier that Niculae's Wikipedia (English) entry says he is a Dinamo player, whilst the Romanian version still has him with us. I don't know which one to fix :017:
  12. There are rumours though that Mixu wants to replace about half the team.
  13. Nothing will happen, it's all just posturing.
  14. Just wondering if anyone knows if ICT are making the long journey by bus or plane?
  15. It's very rare that ICT unveil a player that the fans had no inkling we might sign. Which makes me fear it could be Billy Elliot. But I'm hoping for a surprise in the form of a commanding central defender.
  16. I think "perhaps lends credence to the theory that..." is sufficiently non-accusatory! They published them before anyone had claimed anything! Until that point, details of the negotiations were quite rightly being conducted in private.
  17. This topic has been moved to ICT. [iurl]http://www.caleythistleonline.com/community/index.php?topic=7399.0[/iurl]
  18. Personally I'm waiting to see if the club have actually done anything wrong rather than adding to the many ill-informed attacks on this thread. The only thing we know for sure is that Dinamo acted in an underhand and unprofessional manner by publishing those documents, which when you consider their motives for doing so perhaps lends credence to the theory that ICT conducted their business with integrity and have been the victims of a Niculae-Dinamo stitch-up. Perhaps they were too trusting, but time will tell.
  19. We finally persuaded my grandad to stop driving when he turned 90, and had become a danger to everyone. It's very hard for old folk to willingly give up a part of their independence, but it has to be done.
  20. The only people who suffer from giving away part of the club, or Orion getting a bargain, are the other shareholders, it doesn't really affect the club itself.
  21. Jaundice PS Can I suggest that next time anyone takes a sickie, they have to phone work and say that they have got whatever they posted here!
  22. I passed that very accident just when the ambulances were arriving. Glad to hear everyone survived.
