Foundation/Fan Funding
First off, personally, I think Sheepslagger should be applauded for coming forward and putting a suggestion into the public domain, there's never a wrong suggestion and it can only generate interest no matter how big or small it may be especially given his exposure. Taking Hearts size out of the equation, they are a bigger club with a bigger turnover and bigger expenditure so income is all relevant. Being a smaller club our turnover and expenditure is smaller so we don't need the levels of interest that they generate. It would be great to be able to but it needs to be a realistic approach as well. Without incurring the wrath of Caleyjag, we'd probably be interested especially given we don't get to as many games as we'd like to and would be interested in following any future developments should there be any.

Team for Tannadice on Tuesday
Looking forward has been the downfall for many teams in the past and backfired tremendously, we haven't got a big enough squad with the quality to rotate sufficiently without weakening the team. Take tomorrow's game as it is forgetting about Sundays game and go from there. I'd rather have momentum going into Sunday's game and make Utd second guess than give them any kind of a lift.

Ross County -v- Inverness CT
It was a leading question which I already knew the answer to and while correctly it's not about one game this thread is. My point is that I genuinely believe from your answer or part of, you're firmly stuck in the past and for the sake of your enjoyment of watching ICT and posters on this forum you need to get realistic about where we are right now and what this squad of players can achieve. We can all bleat on about the past, winning the Scottish Cup, getting to the League Cup Final, finishing 3rd in the League and getting to Europe but we shouldn't get stuck with it to the point it distorts views of this current squad. It's like Aberdeen comparing to the Fergie years or Celtic the Jock Stein years or Dundee Utd and the Jim McLean years but it gets them nowhere. Yes nice to reminisce but that's where it should end. Whether we had of seen the game out or not that was more than a decent performance and for the majority our players individually and collectively played really well. This is what the focus should be on, the good points of the game, how we contained County in the first half, how we moved the ball about, our attacking play and I see nothing from your posts that suggests this. It's too easy to pick on certain players and by now we all know your thoughts on White, change the record before it gets stuck. Would I like to see youth given a chance? Yes. Do I think we have enough quality in our youth to sustain it? Honestly no. Do I think throwing them in will be to the detriment of their development? Yes. Why? As we don't have the desired quality around them to help them flourish and progress as players and take the pressure off them At our level you don't throw youth at a problem and expect them to fix it unless they are outstanding, you give youth the experience of progressing with better players around them who can lead and teach. You like to look back so it should have started at times like when we had Draper, Tansey, Warren and the likes who could lead. Currently I'd only put Tremarco in that bracket which isn't enough. We can all have a moan and a gripe but seriously, be more realistic and you might just suddenly be surprised for the better.

Scottish Cup Pitch Flag
I agree with others and don't cut it up, chances are as much as someone says they want a bit of it, ultimately it'll end up stuck at the back of a drawer or the bottom of a box just being a piece of blue material for the most part. Surely keeping it whole and auctioning or even raffling it off would give you some return, all be it not all your investment, but piece of mind the someone else has kept it in tact with the potential to do something with it. At the end of the day, once it's cut up there's no going back.

Ross County -v- Inverness CT
If you listened to JR's post match interview you would have heard him say that we should have seen the game out, should have made a side ward pass that even if it had of went out the park would have been better than trying to play forward and lose the ball resulting in the goal. JR got his tactics spot on last night in my opinion, apart from one or two of his late substitutions, and certainly in the first half we were well in control, extra man in midfield compared to County and we had the game in our hands. First half I though we were excellent and for the part in the second half we played well but got leggy which ultimately caused them to equalise. Even if we hadn't tried to play offside/claim offside I believe we still would've been caught out by pace from that ball, yes the defending was poor but ultimately a stupid pass further up the field caused it. I agree we need to play the game out smarter, that's not from the lack of tactics from the manager but more a lack of intelligence from the players and possibly a lack of belief. There's no way JR talks that way after a game but doesn't impact it on his players, he was as frustrated as the rest of us. We should always play to our strengths and if that means continuing to push on and press but with a slightly deeper back line then so be it but we cannot control a game from halfway inside our own half, we don't have a player that can do it.

19 years. Yikes.
I was at uni in Glasgow and my flat mate went to the game, I always wonder if he posts on here. While my ICT days only really started 10-11yrs ago when Caleyjag's influence took over, I still remember the result and fall out quite clearly.

Worrying Low Home Attendances
Simple answer is improve the quality on the pitch, it's not rocket science. There will always be a hard core element of fans who'll go no matter what, then you get the element who on the whole will go if they haven't got anything else planned then you have the rest who will go when the team plays well. Happens at every club in proportion and will always continue that way. I fall into the middle category where life dictates when I can go and this season has slipped away from me but I'd love to go to more. No amount of match day entertainment or better facilities will change that for me and I believe that the increased costs involved for putting on this type of activity outweighs the benefits through the turnstile.

Disgraceful attitude of a tiny minority of ICT fans
What utter nonsense, back in my day blah blah blah. I've been going to football matches for near 30hrs, various clubs the length and breadth of the country not necessarily to watch ICT just to see a game and have heard fans all over react like said fan mentioned in the original post. It happens everywhere, at every ground, every week of the season and it won't change. Yes there's ways to go about it but no one person is the same and everyone reacts differently, if you take offence to it do something about it, don't take to an online fans forum and vent your frustration making out it's much worse than it is. It paints a bad light on the rest of the fans.

The 'John Hughes broke my club' thread
Couldn't agree more, I too was guilty of having more than my fair share of discussions about this and now I'm bored of it. How does a post like this help our current situation other than causing further divisions on the forum between posters, move on, accept it and look forward. We're in serious danger of becoming that club that always looks back and thinks what if.

Oakley
I'm sure the club and management weighed up what small additional income we'd receive versus what he could offer on the pitch and decided to take what little we could. Not knowing the full story behind why we accepted the offer, possibly he signaled his intent privately that he wasn't going to renew his contract. If it covers a week or two's wages then it's decent business, yes that sounds grim reading it back but if that's the level we are currently at then so be it. We've had bigger players leave in the past and survived and will again, no player is bigger than any club and one out is another players opportunity. Until Robbo pulls the shirt back on to play up front I won't be worrying. Anyway with the kind of players we are attracting to the club we may well look to bring in a free agent.

The Battle of The Jags
Agreed all on all fronts. We should be going into Saturdays game full of confidence and with nothing to fear, start brightly and try to blow them away within the first 20-25mins and I doubt they'll have enough to punch back. Having listened to a Gary Caldwell interview with Caleyjag on the radio a couple of weeks ago following one of their games, I'd love to see us do them, his attitude was appalling and treated the interviewer with complete contempt. Another manager to add to the list of dislikes that I currently have.

Ayr Utd -V- Inverness CT
I don't think we can underestimate just how big a win that could be for us, I'm delighted that my prediction was wrong and I apologise for not having faith. Speaking to Caleyjag a while ago, I said that if someone can go on a decent run they'll either pull away or be right in the mix and I really hope that we can be that team that pushes on and the signs are there, take the frustrating draws away really we are in a good position. Really hoping that those around us keep taking points from each other as well.

Fifth Round Draw.
I don't know the revenue split between the clubs for ticket sales but even if you say 50% each I'm sure the club will miss your £7.50 compared to the £32500.00 or whatever it may be from tv income. If you can't go, don't go, simple. I already told Caleyjag I'd loved to go but living in Aberdeen we now can't but I'm not whinging about it, instead I'm looking at the bigger picture in terms of finances for our club which we desperately need. It will never change and games will continually be moved to accommodate tv deals whether fans like it or not and at our level nothing fans do can change that, it would literally take a three figure attendance at this game for us to potentially be worse off financially and that's not going to happen. Yes some people who wanted to go will miss out due to travel, work etc but logically speaking given our allocation of tickets there's a lot more who would have missed out anyway had the game not been moved for tv and they wouldn't have seen it at all.

Fifth Round Draw.
I feel and agree with your sentiment but I doubt it'll be called off barring a snow storm, with the money from the game RC can afford to have the undersoil heating on should it be needed. It's not so much tv putting pounds before fans but the SFA, if they had any balls about them they'd stand their ground and make tv work for it rather than just give it away but they always run scared. To be fair the clubs will make more from tv money than gate receipts so I understand their position as well.
-
Fifth Round Draw.
Well I for one can't wait, whether it be picked for tv or not a game against our biggest rivals and a derby in the cup is something to look forward to, get excited about and dream of dumping them out. Regardless of how we are playing or they are playing we should all go into this game with optimism and hope.

Good wishes to Scotty
Passing on my thoughts as well Scotty, fingers crossed that the op has been successful and further treatment, if required, is minimal. Having gone through similar circumstances with my Mum last Christmas/New Year, I know it can't be easy however it is so much different for each person, hopefully you can enjoy Christmas and New Year and let your family fuss over you tremendously. If you can deal with all of us on here then you've got this ?

Maybe time to try 442 formation
Great stats and a bit of work gone into compiling them. I think we show a lot more fear towards losing than we do faith in winning and that has caused us to become some what turgid in our approach and we've been sussed out, yes there's a lot to be said for playing to a system that everyone understands but currently it's not working to it's full potential. Ditch the fear factor and make a change and I agree it comes with the formation, the best teams mix it up a bit and have a plan B and sometimes a plan C. We're in a weird situation where 4 wins from 16 is absolutely not good enough but then 1 loss in 16 is exceptional, it's the bit in the middle, the 11 draws that have killed us. Interestingly, I have just noticed that in the last 5 league games no one team has won more than 2 games. It'll either stay close or one team will hit great form, go on a run and pull away from the rest, to ensure we don't fall behind if that happens we need to step it up somehow.

Club Statement
I'm not looking to start an argument or take this off topic but in no way did imply the above or say anything of that nature. It's what you have implied and also what you have implied from the club statement. My point was that had it been on the terraces then in my opinion it would be a far bigger problem for the club to deal with and would warrant a stronger public response. I'm not suggesting that what happened is fine, that it should be swept under the carpet or that it doesn't warrant being dealt with but there's a way to do it. How do you know that the club haven't acted stronger internally, how do you know that the club haven't disciplined those involved, how do you know anything about the matter other than the statement. You cannot say it's a weak attempt by the club to tackle the issue head on unless you know exactly what they have done internally unless of course you do know in which case please share the details with us backing up your information with concrete evidence. Now internally is probably the best place to focus: in my opinion it should be dealt with internally; less is more and so often organisations get dragged into more problems by embellishing on situations and get embroiled in arguments from all sides. Keep it simple and treat it as an internal matter. Let's get it into perspective, if it hadn't appeared on social media no one would have known about it and we wouldn't be having this conversation which is my mind implies we have no sectarian issues at the club and the club have acted proportionally in the public forum to the situation.

Club Statement
We're all entitled to our own opinions which is the beauty of this forum and I'm not diminishing your thoughts however I seriously doubt our reputation as a club has been severely damaged and it's only embarrassing if you let it bother you too much. The club took appropriate action where needed and kept it internal, nothing more said and no need to embellish. Completely fine with me. In fact the whole incident doesn't even bother me that much, if anyone on here would like to come forward and claim to have never done anything stupid in their life then please form a queue beside that rest of us that have because I reckon it'll be non-existent. The media at their best taking an opportunistic approach to shame someone else in football, see it what it's for, a mistake and move on. If it was happening week in week out and on our own terraces then maybe take a different view but it's not so in my mind there's nothing to see here.

Riccardo Calder Assault
Club had no choice and made sure it covered itself by waiting before doing anything. What really boils my p*sh about the whole thing is that he denied assault, whether this was his lawyer's doing in persuading him to do so I'm not sure and we'll never know, but in my eyes it shows that he feels he's done nothing wrong. Whether through an act of self-defense or not, striking another individual in any manner no matter the provocation or not is assault, end of. I know in this case it's not self-defense, as stated by the CPS and in the article, but be big enough to own up to what you've done regardless of the reasoning behind it. Anyway any man who hits a woman in my book regardless of anything is a scumbag, in this case he's the lowest there can be and that's my polite response.
