  1. We were second best all day today. Aberdeen are the most street wise team I have seen as they constantly con the match officials. They dived, grabbed, elbowed and generally moaned and cheated throughout. That said we didn't deserve to win. King, Cole and Vigurs were second best whilst Doran was by and large annonymous. We badly missed the calmness of Tansey and Polworth.
  2. I got more enjoyment and entertainment in 90 minutes today than all of last season. Excellent performance, and boy could you see how much it meant to the manager and the players at the end. Great all round performance.
  3. All this talk of budgets is a smokescreen. The simple fact is that we, once again, are left scrapping about at the end of August looking for players. If I remember last season we were in the same position only able to field 4 or 5 subs in each of the first half dozen games. That is we have no option but to play the same players most weeks, whether they perform or not. Contrast that with the likes of Dundee who get their business done in May/June and have the summer to relax and prepare for the new season. If we can afford to bring in 4 players THIS WEEK then why didn't we do this earlier? I will be really interested to see the gang of 4 who we are going to sign before the St J. game.
  4. For the umpeenth season in a row we are left in mid August scratching around looking for new players whilst every other team has completed their business. No wonder so many people chose not to attend yesterday when we are once again at the tale end in more ways than one. Yesterday was my first sight of the 4 new guys. I certainly didn't see anything to excite me about any of them. We were totally outclassed by a much stronger, together team from over the bridge. Davis was like a magnet all day and must have a sair heed at the number of headers he had. Why when there were breaks in play did you see the County team crowded round their manager presumably for words of encouragement and Ritchie not once called anyone over? Similarly why did we not see our captain encouraging the new boys during these breaks. We did not look like a happy, together team. Tansey looked like a man with moving ideas in his head! However we must keep the faith and believe that there are a couple of signings to come in.
  5. Attended my first game this season and found it a very depressing experience. Not because of the standard of play and the result, but because my 'buddy' to my left who has been a season ticket holder like myself since the stadium opened, has given up his ticket. Then I looked to my right and the bloke who has held that season ticket for the past decade or so has also given up his ticket. At half time I stopped to chat to an old school friend who is also a season ticket holder, or rather was. He too has given up his ticket and has decided to pick and choose his games. All in all a very sad day.
  6. If you ship 14 players in the summer and recruit only 4 it doesn't leave many options.
  7. Supporters are perfectly entitled to 'bleat' (Caley D) about prices if they want to and are doing the club no harm whatsover. Everbody knows that there are less expensive tickets for students, youngsters etc. I have two season tickets and reckon I am well placed to pass on not only my opinion but those of many others who sit around me in the Main Stand. As many of us left after the last game at the end of last season I can vouch for the fact that the majority of folk who have held season tickets since the club's inception were well pissed off with the product on the park. No way would they give up on the club but many have chosen to pick their games this season.
  8. Regardless of all the fancy surmising £30 is just far too much to attract a casual Dad/Mum and perhaps children. And, after last season's product on the park I bet we have sold fewer season tickets as a result.
  9. Well after moaning and groaning over the past few weeks I renewed both my own and my father's tickets today. The promise from Ritchie that we will see more attacking football this forthcoming season coupled with the re-signing of the loyal David Raven helped me decide. The biggest factor though was in memory of my Dad who passed away this week. He was a true Caledonian FC fan and former groundsman at Telford Street. He took me along as a very small boy and I tagged along as he lined the pitch on match days with distemper, put the sawdust on the penalty spots and hung the nets. R.I.P. Dad, x
  10. Heard a rumour that Ritchie wishes to go to Brora next season. Stranger things.......................
  11. Totally agree. I know quite a few long term season ticket holders who are proposing not to renew but instead just pick and choose their games. The days have gone when you would be struggling to get a ticket for any league or cup game. What a difference a year makes, we have failed to capitilise on last year's massive success.
  12. Very poor decision. Good luck to the Rave in Dingwall next season.
  13. This decision has nothing to do with finances. Raven seems to be a good honest professional who has done an outstanding job for us and would continue to do so. There is a definite link between our average performance this season and Raven's absence. This decision is Hughes doing and could be a turning point in the fans relationship not only with him but the Club.
  14. Given that a lot of County fans live in Inverness and that I recognise at least one of them in the photo, Liam is saying 'Can any of you gudgies give me a lift back to Inverness after the game, please?'
  15. A devastating result for us today. How I wish we had players with guts like Hamilton. Hamilton ain't pretty on the eye but at this time in the season they will win ugly whilst we try and weave nice little patterns in our own half. We have zero penetration going forward and it mystifies me how Hughes can't see this. Seeing Ritchie back and looking hungry, fit, lean and mean is the only positive from today. Horner our best player today for me and even although we must have let half of the kids in Inverness in for free we had a very decent crowd of 3,500. Such a shame the team couldn't lift their game for tomorrow's fans.
  16. What a good shout by Caley Mad in Berks. Warren struggling without Meekings.
  17. Can't believe Hughes saying we have no penetration, it's his players, his selection, his tactics. We have had no penetration all season and we are in big trouble now.
  18. Could be worse, I fancy our chances against either of the Auld Reekie teams.
  19. Yeah yeah yeah but where are we going to play him and who will he replace?
  20. Yeah yeah yeah but where are we going to play him and who will he replace?
  21. Fantastic news for the Hospice and a magnificent gesture by whoever donated the shares. A wee bit of a headache for the Hospice. The Members Club is interesting, are the names of these fine 157 Caley and Jags individuals recorded anywhere? I know at least one of them and think I still have my card to prove it! Hopefully their names are known because it is an important part of the ICT history.
  22. We were fortunate to go in 2 up. Looked very comfortable in the second half. County big money players looked very poor, Davies, Gardyne and Jackson were outplayed throughout by our more determined workmen players. I thought Vincent had a great game as he chased and ran all game. Definately an unsung hero.
  23. Everyone in the stadium could see that we were being completely rogered down the left side during the first half. Yes Horner was very poor but surely Hughes would sort out some kind of technical help for him if he was determined that he should stay on. On today's showing Raven is a much better defender. The football we are playing is boring boring boring, lots of possession but no penetration, come on Yogi sort it out.
  24. There is something wrong inside the club at the moment and it is clearly manifesting itself on the park. We are so very predictable with a continuous stream of sideways and back passing. Hugely disappointed with tonights efforts, County bullied us and we just rolled over. Saturday against Dundee is a must win or we will be in freefall all the way to League 1.
  25. A very very poor performance all round. We haven't got a leader on the park who can assess play as it happens or in today's case doesn't happen. We are massively predictable. St J could have held us at bay with 8 men today. Our two front men in the second half made dozens of decent runs but received no service whatsoever. By the way, what's Hughes problem with Polworth, he was by no means the worse but Hughes looked to be on his case for the whole second half.
