New manager thread (merged)
I wouldn't go for another former manager, even Robbo, although I wouldn't be surprised if this is the direction the club takes. We need a new team, from director of football, down. I'd go for the Exeter City duo of Paul Tisdale as manager and Steve Perryman MBE (the ex Spurs legend) as DOF. Exeter are a club not dissimilar to ICT. They even share the same sponsor, Flybe!, a provincial club with a similar sized loyal following. Exeter were on their knees about three years ago, due to mismanagement from boardroom level (ring any bells?). The arrival of Steve and Paul has worked wonders so much so that they won promotion back to EFL div 2 last year and are already challenging for a 'play off' place for Div 1. Paul is the typical young ambitious manager, and Steve is the wise 'old head' with an abundance of experience and contacts. The fact that I am a personal friend of Steve has not influenced my choice. I just know they would be good for us, and I'm sure affordable. They might take some persuading to move North, but I am convinced it would be a move in our long term interest.

BREWSTER SACKED
Inevitable I guess given the recent appalling run of league results, plus the ever increasing pressure from the fan base. However, this should only be step one. We badly need a Director of Football with more savvy and experience than at present. See my recommendation in the 'who do you want thread?'

An observation.........and some praise!
Good post. I didn't see the PT game, but Roy was certainly our best player against Rangers last week. Good to see him getting the credit he deserves.

ICT -V- Partick : Matchday Thread
Well, I don't think any of us would have predicted this line up! Must be 'the last chance saloon' for Brewster. But fair play to him, at least he has tried to be different.

ICT -V- Partick : Matchday Thread
Why is Fraser back in goals? Is it just to give him a run out? Surely Esson has established himself as no. 1 now!

Gary McAllister
You've answered your own question. I would guess McAllister was on at leat ?500K a year at Leeds!. But there are lots of other good managers in English divs 2/3 who we could afford. We probably could have got Nigel Clough before he went to Derby, but my favourite would be Paul Tisdale of Exeter City, together with his Director of Football, Steve Perryman. They have done wonders at Exeter over the past three years.

Bring Back Bayne
Just aswell you're not manager then. I'd be starting a 'Sack Renegade' campaign!

Well after Cowie
Couldn't agree more. Get as much as we can then re-invest at least as much as that. Yes, I agree with those sentiments. Get rid of both Black and Cowie and get as much as we can for them. I've only seen them about 3 times this season but they've been cr*p every time. On top of that they'll be nothing but an unsettling influence on the rest of the team from now on.

Spot on with that comment. I said exactly the same on another thread.

Sunday's Performance
I really wanted my 1000th post to be more positive, but why is it when we play well, the other team must have been below par? A team only plays as well as the opposition lets them. I'm largely in agreement with Absent Friend's post. I think the 'get Brewster out at all costs' attitude is colouring how most fans are viewing the team's performance. Sunday was not all bad. It only seems so as it follows some performances which were indeed, dire.

ICT -V- Rangers : matchday thread
Just watched it all on Setanta with a Rangers fan. Even he admitted there wasn't 3 goals between the teams. In my opinion we were let down by our 'so-called' stars, Black and Cowie, neither of whom got in the game. Get some money for Black this month I say, he clearly has no passion for playing for us anymore. Cowie missed his opportunity 'in the shop window' if he wants to go to Rangers. Doubt he'd make their first team squad. Some good performances, especially in first half, McBain and Vigurs, although he missed a great chance, and another couple of half chances. Essen, Proctor and Hastings get pass marks too from me. Not many others. We badly need someone to take the 'all too few' chances we create.

Chairman backs manager....
Maybe this is the dreaded Chairman's 'vote of confidence'! In which case Brew will be history very soon.

Phil Brown knows how to do it
OK, they did better in the 2nd half after Phil's antics, but I suspect it could backfire on him. I think teams at last have sussed Hull out, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them sink progressively down the table, maybe even to the bottom 3.

Robbo in charge to face Motherwell?
I don't necessarily agree with you about Robbo being the right person to replace Brewster, but its good to see you back Johnboy.

Paul Ince
Yes, Blackburn have not let the grass grow under their feet in ousting Ince. Yet, he had done brilliantly with Macclesfield and MK Dons. Just shows how much harder management is when you're in with the 'big boys'. What chance a comeback for Souness?

Should Brewster shoulder ALL the blame?
Statistics are like a newly painted lamp post - illuminating, but not to be leant on!

Looks like we are stuck with the clown
Boycotting matches by so-called supporters who don't like a team's manager is, imho, pathetic.

Some GOOD news for ICT
Who is Finlay?
-
The article goes on to say we will receive about ?57 grand, which I think is about what we were expecting. Confusion arose because a four figure sum was mentioned. Should have said five figure sum I think.

Celtic -V- ICT : matchday thread
Nice of you to confirm that we were actually there! I thought perhaps we had gone to the wrong ground.

Hibernian -V- ICT : matchday thread
What a difference a week makes! Great result, well done boys. A repeat of our 5-in-a-row winning streak like we did before Xmas a couple of years ago is all we want now!

Fraser Dropped - Courier
I take it from these remarks that you would have made no changes to the side which got thrashed last week. I've never been pro Brewster, but in your eyes (and many others to be fair) he can do no right at all. He would have been pilloried by many on here if he had not changed last week's team. So what is he to do? Shades of Catch 22!
