  1. Well if i'd known that.....
  2. The MLS is definitely a good hunting ground ..... Rangers took Maurice Edu from Toronto and I had the privilege of watching him in TFCs first season, if Walter can get him playing to his potential he will be a star. Its expected that Marvell Wynne (a tough no-nonsense right back with blistering pace) will be the next TFC player to head to Europe and I think this year will be a big one for Abdus Ibrahim (nickname Ibee) a teenage "wonderkid" who looks tremendous. The same is true for most MLS sides, plenty of young talent which is starting to go eastwards, some decent 20-30 somethings and the influx of "fading" stars coming westwards ... its actually quite entertaining. I've always said since i was about 15 that the MLS would start to produce some good players and the USA and Australia would have an impact on world football (or soccer) in the years to follow. Yet i was often laughed at for this. Alot of the guys over there have the technical ability in abundance and the grass roots system (from what i here from my cousins over near Toronto) seems in far excess of our own here now. Now they are starting to get some passion for the game and it is starting to gain popularity (tho will never overtake Basketball, Baseball, American rules) i think that the market over there will be a key hunting ground in years to come. I've heard of the young Ibrahim. Believe he's a young midfielder. Jozy Altidore im sure was making a name for himself too. Its a shame that young Adu struggled to cope with his early found fame. Hopefully he'll find his feet in Europe soon. Is he still at Benifica for that matter? So the sooner Brew gets the sack, the sooner Robbo can tell us if he wants the job eh
  3. Yes Yes Happy Birthday Craig.... and good riddance.

To mr Wyness legend, Simply because we are a smaller club does not mean we cannot aim, as before for the top 6. To say "we were always going to struggle anyway" is completely self defeatest. Why not just not bother getting promoted. The club and the fans fought too hard to get the promotion they deserved through winning the 1st for an attitude of enjoy it while it lasts mantra. We have players like Black, Cowie, Imrie and Rooney who could easily do a job for most non OF teams on a regular basis like John Rankin has. We have promising young players who could go on to do the same like Vigurs, Wood, Sutherland and Duff. The manager has time and time again made poor selections and bewildering choices that IT'S NOT SIMPLY A BLIP! I gave Brewster the benefit of the doubt when he rejoined even though i did not want him back. He wasnt brilliant 1st time round and he is taking us exactly the same way he took Dundee Utd where he really really failed. He's had a year and has taken us backwards. Brewster has to go. Its that simple
  5. Eh could you go more often then please!
  6. I dont know if as a manager you've suffered heavy fan critisism ever, but if like Criag Brewster you were taking alot of flak, Is it a case f not reading papers etc or would you ever let it influence your tactics? (say the fans are crying out for a 4-4-2 at home with certain players as your team have a shoddy home record and you havent been ) Would you ever let it influence your team selection? Should managers be more open to think about what fans are saying (but not nessesarily employ it) or should they doggedly ignore them and in some cases tell them they dont know what they're on about and YOUR the manager and YOU pick the team?* Would you ever try and afix your natural way of playing the game to atone more to the way the fans of that club/nation prefer it ie Ajax and the Netherlands are traditionally 4-3-3 etc? Please note* I dont want your fix on Craig Brewster. I realise as a fellow manager it would be wrong of you to talk about how others do their job. I want to know how you go or would go about it
  7. No he isnt the worst. Take your pick from Darren Thompson Tom Parret Liam Fox Gary McSwegan Barjam Fetai Lionel D And then there is a few players from the older days also. Vetle Anderson..... although im not too familiar with them myself. Barrowman is having a rough ride. HE has scored at least. He doesnt get a regular run. Is never paired with another striker or proper support man in the ilk of Wilson, Juanjo or Niculae. The team as a whole are not really setting the heather alight so its unfair to pin it on him. Give the guy a chance. It is a massive step between 2nd division and the SPL. If he's got the ability, he'll hopefully show it in time. He is certainly not the worst.
  8. Hey John, thanks 1st and foremost for the memories. My mates a clyde fan. Gave you some verbal. Cheers for stickin it up him by effectively winning the title on their patch! Question: What do you think of the frozen pitch fiasco? Motherwell have habitually had games called of for years due to undersoil failure etc. I often know that if one other game is called off, any game at fir park will be too. Does it gripe you at all that they can consistently get away with this and ICT had to fight tooth and nail for promotion despite their pitch never freezing over, being one of the top surfaces going and never having home games postponed? Despite all this we still had to get undersoil heating which other clubs dont even use when their meant to. P.S Is Sally your name at the weekends?
  9. Again, essentially saying, hey look, eh, a pick the team right, but, eh , eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, its aw the, eh players fault.
  10. Pretty much the same as me then. And i reckon with that we would have a decent chance. However expect Duff and Proctor to swap and switch wings for Cowie and Imrie and play Wood and you'll be inside Brewsters head.
  11. The board have to shoulder the blame for reappointing him but as for the man who picks the team. Alienates players. and refuses to accept any blame ever! well then thats all Brewsters fault.
  12. I suspect Barry wants to go out and get a game for a year or so before hanging up those boots as opposed to being overlooked by Brewster every week. Thanks for the memories and come back soon!
  13. I'd like: Esson Proctor - Duff - Munro - Hastings(lets face it he'll never get dropped) -Duncan- Cowie - Black - Vigurs - Imrie -Rooney/Wood we'll get: Brewster I really dont give much of a damn because he'll once again play people in stupid positions when there are better available to play there.. He'll chop and change. No way Barrowman will start up front for 2 games in a row.(not totally bothered about that. How often do we have a regular strike force though?) Then he'll blame it all on us for being too demanding away from home.
  14. This really doesnt make sense. "I dont want to make two changes, so i'll play both out of position instead" Not really fair on Duff. Brewster has made a real gaff here. But will he hold his hands up. No. Will he blame the team and take no blame himself again. Hmmm i wonder
  15. Well it seems on BBC sport Grassa offered Black a contract with Fraser Munro and Cowie in the summer. In the P&J however black seems t say otherwise. Either way lets get him signed up pronto please.
  16. Proof is what is lacking, so both stories have no substance. Maybe this thread should be moved to the rumour mill? Well the topic is kinda based on a story from a statement released by the club wich on BBC sport. Therefore its not a rumour but speculation of a published story. Although to slander anyone (ie Grassa) at this stage is something we have been kindly asked by board admin (ie Scotty) not to do. Unless he (Grassa) is shown to be incompetent then we are not supposed to say otherwise. Although technically we could say the inactivity makes him look totally incompetent. Which it does. And if a DoF was to take a holiday mid season it reeks of non professionalism. What would we say if a manager or player did likewise.

Some peeps keep saying 4 figure sum. 57K is a 5 figure sum. Hence the 5 figures. Hey we got the same as West Ham so it's all fair at least. How on earth tho did Celtic get so much? I mean Boruc and JoH makes only approx 115k. Unless as Holland went further as well?
  18. Sorry If it means not getting Fraser or even Cowie, tied up on a new deal, I'd be happy if we could get Black signed up. I'd rather Black gets the wage increase his form and importance to the team deserves than sign up Fraser who could be readily repaced. And if losing Fraser also meant we could keep Cowie. Then all the better. But the club should look at what they can afford and make Black the priority. From what i hear he loves the area. So give him the deal that he deserves and gives him the security he would want.
  19. Its true, Tokely has been inconsistent and does get found out defensively at times, but i wouldnt drop him as he offers so much physically to the team at set pieces. Proctor aint a central defender. I reckon he could be a decent midfield anchor or right sided player easily. He does have good positional sense and is a decent tackler but is far too light weight. Playing on the right of midfield, i reckon would benefit the team more and especially offer Tokely cover which he needs (we are not a top team, our players have limitations. Other players can be used effectively to offer their own attributes and cover up others lacks of.) I dont have a problem with wingers player on the other side, but its better if they change round more often (starting on their natural side) Rooney looks a more composed finisher than Wood, but Wood is a ne'er say die grafter. I reckon playing them both together more often could eventually reap rewards. Duff is part of the future. He should be allowed to forge a partnership with Munro as he's shown he has the ability. Wyness didnt do enough to earn a new contract last season. Its a shame as he is a legend here. Due to his status with the fans Brewster should have handled it better. Bayne was a grafter. I think it may have been good for Wood to work with him. In saying that his goal record aint great, and he's in the 1st div now. We do need a new forward. With experience and pace. So its so so from me. Brewster hasnt got me totally convinced as the man for the future but there are some positives.
  20. I want Vale of Leithen if they get past Inverurie Locos in the rescheduled game. Not because i have any affiliation with them, but a friend plays for them and i want to go and give him dogs abuse.
  21. Sorry Bingo but I've checked all the Uefa and Fa websites and don't see Danny Mc, JR or CC Are you sure about your facts? There is a list of all who qualified in 2004 and D Mc and JR aint in it Did you check 2003 and 2005 just in case?
  22. I refer to "it" as the existance of the problems you have cited in your original post. You have your head in the sand regarding the existance of problems at the club. Hope that helps :thumb04: Lets stop this folly. Everything is rosy at the club from boardroom to manager to players and league. For I know it :018:
  23. I'd be happy for him to replace Roney.... if he scores a hat trick. Cant see that happening though
  24. Shane Sutherland is alot younger - could have been the under 19s as oppossed to reserves in 1-1 draw perhaps?
  25. A touch attacking maybe but i like your thinking. I'd go (if all fit and available) Esson Tokely - Duff - Munro - McBain Proctor - Cowie - Black - Vigurs Imrie----> Rooney Subs: Fraser; Maguire, Duncan, Wood, Wilson, Zander, Lionel Give Wilson and Wood runs out for poorer performers at some point perhaps. Tactically use Duncan, Maguire or Lionel to hold on to any lead (defensively) Swap Duncan for Black if unfit and push proctor in and Wilson for Cowie (if unfit) on right, spare Wilsons legs later if needs be.
