  1. you have to bear in mind Macallister is a) only 19 and still learning and b) has hardly played enough at this level to get up to speed and tempo, that takes time too. Its when you start bringin people in that finances go awry. I say give the kid a chance! Also we have bayne and Macswegan so altho we dont have alot of options, we shouldnt be out rushing for new players.
  2. In my opinion, you only need to words to sum this guy up. "Living Leg-end" -a leg-end in my social surroundings, being of even greater standing than a legend. Leg-end!
  3. well the headline was fairly accurate... Id doesnt say where to or when they'll leave :015:
  4. Ian Black is anything but Emo! And despite some of his recent behaviour i'd want £350,000 at least!
  5. I've heard comments from others that we have a few 1st division players in our team, but they've made the grade. Dods was a 1st division player struggling for a game when we got him, remember that....
  6. to be blatantly honest i've never really seen either play. All i know is Archibald was highly rated a couple of years back. Could have just been being in Dundee made him bad?! And im sure i've heard a few good things aboot McCracken but i couldnt be sure.
  7. It might be worth having a look at Archibald who can play in the middle and full back positions in defence. Dundee Utd aren't going to be giving him or McCracken a new deal in summer so perhaps we should get in there. I mean i know they are playing for the worst team ever, i still thing ICT could get the best out of them.
  8. Mark Brown has been a great servant to the club. Was a major contributor to getting us to where we are today. And, fair enough, i dont see alot of games, but whenever i have seen him go to catch a cross he catches it. Altho he is weak under pressure and doesnt command his area brilliantly and he cant kick a moving ball or kick very well for that matr, but he can catch and he is an immense shot stopper. Also Marshall cant catch anything and he is far more suseptible to errors. Good luck Mark!
  9. I have a lot of admiration for Mackie. He is a great example of a loyal football player. There are many times he could have left the dons to get 1st team footie but he's stuck to his guns, produced the form and goals and got a new contract.
  10. i've heard numerous reasons why dods is going to dun utd. most revolving around location and family reasons and that when initial contracts talks were started only a 1 year deal was offered. only later was a two year deal offered. its blatantly obvious he wouldnt go for football reasons. who'd go to a diddy team like that? altho ludicrous he wasn't offered a long eal in 1st place if thats the case!
  11. agreed. kirk broadfoot would cost us too much. We'll have to scour the 1st division for a centre half. I'm sure the managment team will know what to look for there. But even if he doesnt have a great deal of ability, strength is an asset that can cover that up. look at balde! if he cant cope with with a better player he hoofs them in the air till they cant move!
  12. of all the players we could lose, i'd probably say this is the most costly. Not only is he a rock but he is a strong leader and when he gets up the other end he scores the odd goal too. Will miss him if it is all confirmed as appears to be but wish him all the best.
  13. he gets a lot of bad flak but he is a superb passer of the ball and a hard worker. Ridiculos wages, but hey their yanks. Mind u in the 70s when they were paying huge somes to pele and best etc it all went belly up so they had better be careful.
  14. 1) Anybody but burns 2)tommy burns :015:
  15. i think a young commanding centre half should be a priority now paatilienen has signed. See that brann are now willing to let robbie winters go for nought and he has also said that he is getting worried about his future as no one has expressed an interest. Worth a look in my opinion.
  16. Two names im suprised to have not even been mentioned are Jim Jefferies who is constantly praised for his work at Killie and Jimmy Calderwood. Not that i think either would get the job but im still suprised their names havent been mooted
  17. The player was from Sunderland. Hey i was only going on what Kencar said. And besides Sunderland is hardly "civilisation"
  18. altho i'm sure livi could do with the money, snodgrass would surely cost a fair bit.
  19. I have to say it is an honour that Ict have played a key role in the removal of not 1 but 2 OF managers. :015: :015: :015: :021:
  20. I hope smith sees out the current qualifiying campaign, whether he picks any ICT players or not. I want to see my country do well 1st and foremost and he has been the man for the job so far. So losing Smith would be a shame. Altho i'd understand his reasoning. Other names mentioned: George Burley, McCoist and Smith, Billy Davies, Souness, Durrant, Butcher. If Murray has a clue he'd go for Harry Redknapp!
  21. Dods is too good for Rangers! They could probably get Bobby Mann! :015:
  22. Go with the form pairing at the mo, wyness and Bayne, who is coming on leaps and bounds. Dont think he'll ever be a goal machine but he is becoming a good outlet to hold the ball up. Wyness for a wee guy is also good at holding the ball up. Dargo is always good for a goal so we should rotate them and throw Rory in every so often. He needs to play when the team are playing well and prefeably winning to aid his development. And if we get another striker in then it would look like we'll lose Mcswegan, Ah Well! - gutted! :004:
  23. The fresh air must have got to the Sheffield lad who is probably tripping on steel fumes right now. Not purposely like. HE clearly realised that his talent was not up to our standards. :004:
