  2. Online shop???
  3. Very surprised at this decision but even more surprised that none of our fans have yet put Butcher in the frame for the job
  4. We are the SPL, well 1/12 of it at least. Would we be willing to pay for other less efficient USH systems installed at other grounds? Did you know that a 15 tog duvet big enough to cover the pitch and with an aluminium foil coating on the top side would work out at a fraction of the cost and would be more effective.
  5. People talk of shopping centres. People talk of ski centres. What people fail to mention is none of these take an ambulance crew and 30 odd policemen out of their normal duties.
  6. Which reminds me......must phone Laura tomorrow for a ticket. Coming up friday night if any oldies are planning being out on the town.
  7. Looking through the guy's other items he has quite a selection. Seems to be all teams with similar colours in their strip. The guy obviously has no idea of the meaning of what he's doing.
  8. Don, if you were keeping such a good eye on things then how come you didn't notice that, on friday, the A92 between Perth and Dundee was closed for a period. The A9 was closed for a period at Auchterarder and at Dunkeld. Even the Forth road bridge was closed as was the Tay bridge in one direction. Nine days after the first snows and there's still 18 inches of the stuff in my garden. Only now its frozen snow because temperatures haven't gotten above -3 in the last few days. Today is actually the first full day without a fall of snow. Most of the streets in both Perth and Dundee have not been cleared and contrary to what you suggested in an earlier post, the modern car is worse than its older counterparts when it comes to grip on ice.
  9. Living right in the middle of the worst of the snow I believe the call offs to have been the correct decision. There were no trains yesterday on many of the lines down here and its the same today. Many roads have still to be cleared. Many more have been cleared but not salted. Salt is being preserved for arterial routes only. Supermarkets have empty shelves. Fuel stations cant get deliveries. My neighbour is a trucker. He left here a week last friday to go to Newcastle and Norwich. Got back yesterday. Thats the reality of central Scotland and east of England.
  10. Ice hockey see's a way of getting more audiences by targetting footie fans with nothing to do. Very commendable and sensible business accumen. Charles, as a man of such knowledge as yourself I'd have thought you'd have known that ice hockey is not an American sport. The game has its roots in Nova Scotia and, rumour has it, it began with Irish and Scots immigrants playing a cross between shinty and hurling on the frozen lakes of that land in the early 1800's. From there it spread through Canada and then into America.
  11. No I dont think so. When Jason's work permit expired whilst at Dundee United the SPL refused to sanction its renewal. DU appealed the decision but still the SPL beaks refused it. He was released from United and within three weeks had a new work permit that allowed him to join St Johnstone.
  12. Wasn't an offer made a few weeks ago?
  13. Hope so. You'd have to imagine though that Golly could be off in January. There's a two and a half year professional contract on Bennets desk waiting for Shinnie's signature. As this is a big step up from the youth contract he's been on I would imagine he'll sign.
  14. Good old fashioned banter............you cannae beat it. With respect I suppose some credit must go to Elgin City..............after all when was the last time they reached the dizzy hieghts of 6th in div 3.
  15. I think big Dunc is a good choice, he will fit in really well with the locals who in my experience all appear to be fellow gingers dougal Dont you live around the Cromarty Firth as well Dougal?
  16. This is not true is it? I thought Terry & Mo had signed an extended contract? Typical desktop journalism. Both Terry and Mo are contracted to the end of the 11/12 season. They extended in April this year for a further two seasons
  17. Pele would hav done it but they couldn't trace his favourite movie "vodka galore" Sorry robby but thats not remotely funny. Here's hoping you go through your whole life never having to experience the pain of alcoholism and how it can affect, not only the alcoholic but those around them.
  18. I'd like to ask Roy what role he played in the trashing of Jonny Hayes house and did he wake up one morning to find wheels missing from his car
  19. Do they not go hand in hand? No! I was assuming the question implied winning a UEFA place or winning the Scottish Cup. Thank you for pointing out the bleeding obvious. Is that 12 months on the road without defeat yet, Alex? Depends what calendar you use.
  20. Englands bid was based around what is already in place. The stadia, the infrastructure, the passion for the game, how much our economy will benifit etc. The winning bidders presentations were based around what they will do. Provide jobs, take people out of poverty, put something back into the game etc. Thats why they lost. Quatar are going to build 9 new stadia in kit form and dismantle them and ship them to poorer nations after the competition. Russia are going to build stadiums that will become footballing academies of excellence and hotels that will be the envy of the world. England will use the stadia they have and put folk up in university hostels. Russia and Quatar had real down to earth people making their presentation and talking about what they could do to benefit the game across the world. England had David Beckham with a wee story about his granda. The BBC could have exposed the whole FIFA committee as peodo's and it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference to the vote.
  21. Do they not go hand in hand? No!
  22. What??? with a big purple nose???
  23. No doubt the BBC will be blamed for it
  24. And the winners are Russia
  25. Third.....they had 1908 and 1948
