Trialists...

What i can gather from the papers today:

- 3 Dutch trialists were due this week but only one has turned up and is expected to play tonight (the other two trialists are waiting to hear from their clubs)

- Ricky Shakes trial has ended and he is keen to remain in England for personal reasons

- Former Aberdeen keeper Greg Kelly is on trial with the club this week

The Dutch press appear to have identified one of our trialists...

It seems to be a centre back called Chris De Wagt.

Every word in there has potential to be a players name, Jeffery Altheer, Alex Pama, Wagt op te Volgen ???????????????

The translation, I believe, is "Chris De Wagt is currently training with Inverness in Scotland".

This is him I think.

He looks like Rudi Skacel.

Boy seems to have a good head on him, and apparently a fine left foot as well.

The babelfish translation:SC Cambuur say be in conversation but a very large brio. According to director Alex Pama it concerns a player from the Jupiler League. Also the Frieze club will possibly look up must go to a middenvelder. Chris the Wagt lead at present training period at Inverness shot country. Old excelsior player Jeffrey alto lord is on the screen succeed the Wagt.

Google Translator seems better ..... the gist of the complete article seems to be that

Chris De Wagt is in trials with ICT and if he does come back to SC Cambuur they (Cambuur) will look to Jeffrey Altheer instead. further down the article it also seems to say that Melvin Holwijn chose a trial in Scotland rather than one with Fortuna Sittard so maybe he is one of the others ?

Melvin Holwijn is a 28 year old striker that plays for Telstar and Jeffrey Altheer is a 22 year old defender who plays for Excelsior.

Wonder where they find these guys.

Ronaldo???

Wonder where they find these guys.

According to the Courier, it was a former team-mate of Butcher's at Ipswich who organised it - Romeo Zondervan. They met up at the World Cup qualifier against Holland. Butcher will have loads of contacts from his time with Ipswich, Rangers, England and Scotland ..... might as well put them to good use !

Found Melvin here. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/...ijn/profil.html

Jeffrey some info here http://www.goal.com/en/news/462/netherland...nted-youngsters

Lots more snippets on google

This is what we need. Butcher using his connections to get us some (hopefully good) unknown players who could suprise us all.

Is Jeffrey one of the guys on trial with us?

Wouldnt suprise me if Melvin is one we were looking at as Butcher is keen to sign some wingers.

good old TB...im happy that his contacts seem to be used very well. And if these 2 end up being a bargain find, it can only help us in the SFL & Financially is we sell them on ( after promotion of course)

Is Jeffrey one of the guys on trial with us?

I dont think so.

As posted above, Altheer seems to be who Cambuur will look to if De Wagt signs on at ICT ... although you can take all of it with a pinch of salt as it is all based on interpretation of the Google translation

The Inverness Courier is reporting that we currently have 3 trialists at the club; Greg Kelly, Chris de Vagt and ex-norwich player Robert Eagle who is a left sided midfielder. Looks like all 3 could feature in tomorrows friendly.

cue ridicule from caleyrule B)

Hehe, I just signed Eagle for Caley in FM09 on a free.

Another Dutchman and a Latvian are also to come on trial at ICT next week apparently.

Ooh... I could crush a grape.
