Well feck me, with the snow arriving i thought we better have a thread on whether the Ayr game will be on/off.

Looking out of my window, its now stopped snowing but we may get a wee bit more according to the met office, the temperatures will rise slightly late thursday and friday should be 3c, with saturday the same, will the heating be turned on? will we require snow clearers at the staduim saturday? will we get a game.. i need a football match!!!!!

Right. I'm putting my trust in the forum. First flight up in the morning for me. That means getting up in about 4 hours! See you at the game. I hope...

Going by travel reports and what my mother says (who is waiting in Aviemore until the roads clear etc) the game will be on and the roads should be clear etc.

That is unless there is a deluge of snow this very night.

Looking good at the moment. :022:

You'd better be right or else i'll cry.

does anyone know the situation with the trains and whether it will be open tomoz

Still blocked by snow in places. Should be ok tomorrow as teams work overnight to clear the line.

Check for updates Here.

The line between Perth and Inverness is currently closed.

The loco' that was assisting in snow clearing duties has become derailed at Dalnaspidal. It could be closed for most of the day.

Does not appear to have been frosty overnight, certainly nothing seious if there was any. Don't think there is any snow lying at pitch level. Very overcast at present and as pitch looked good in the passing yesterday things are looking ok, unless the constabulary think otherwise.

tm4tj - Inverness.

From journey check-

Train services between Perth and Inverness are being disrupted due to snow.

Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays can be expected.

Edinburgh/Queen St services to/from Inverness will start and terminate at Perth due to adverse weather conditions. Bus transport will be provided between Perth and Inverness.

So there is travel available.

And you didn't think to ask who owns the stadium? Shoddy!

You could borrow my donkey.... if i had one.

Given that the game is definitely ON, is there perhaps a case for closing this thread which may now have become misleading since the original question no longer applies?

Presumably the matchday thread is on its way in any case?

PS - I informed Tommy this morning that he had been referred to on this forum as "the best groundsman in Britain." Those of you who know him will probably understand what I mean by describing his response as one of "indignant hilarity" - an emotion which, within my experience anyway, only Tommy can do!

(Probably the closest I have otherwise seen was Diggar MacGillivray!)

This one is more entertaining Charles. And there's scope to wind you up.

Thank goodness the game's on. Has anyone considered the economic impact on the Innes? I'm going to boost their profits right now.

I have arranged for a camel to be shipped across at great personal expense to ensure you get through the "white desolation" - snow to you.

If anyone is running late for the match today, watch your speed as we cant go around breaking the law.
