INS AND OUTS ?

For once I am finding some of the criticism a bit baffling. Have I got this right ? Please feel free to correct me or challenge me please as I try to get our squad situation in to perspective.

OUT - Grant Munro (Baffling) - Golly (no surprise, over the hill for SPL now and not even a squad player) - Royster (potentially a squad player but has to make way) - Duncan (again a squad player but wants regular football) - Johnson (no loss) - Innes (never rated him, another over the hill - Hogg (slightly baffled by that one but heard that he also wanted to go) - Obdhiambo (nuff said !!) - Bloominghitte (far too injury prone and woosy) - Sanchez (SFL player in my book and never really fitted in)

IN / NEW CONTRACT - Sutherland (much better prospect than Rory IMHO - could really improve over next 2 seasons) - Rosscoe (in for the centre half position, the experience - would have kept hogg otherwise, needs pace alongside him) - Morrison (improving and a good squad player) - Tansey (could prove to be best buy since Rooney) - Tade (never wholly impressed me but pace and scores goals) - Aldred (yet to see but appears to have won some over already) - Meekings (sounds like a good squad player) - Shinnie (certainly showed potential but never got a breakthrough - could be another very good buy) - Stevenson ( squad player who needs building up.

Plus we could still get Alex Cooper and Gilbert would be an asset. Coxy and wee Shinnie still to come back from injury - Hayes hopefully back to his best and the prospect of Doran on loan again.

After all that I feel that - if / when we add another central defender then whats the feckin problem ? And lets finish off with a wee bit of controversy - looks to me that we have swapped a lot of older, nearing the twilights of their career journeymen for a bunch of younger, hungry to impress potential SPL players but many with "experience" at clubs arguably at a higher level than us !!

When ya play wee team in pre season ya are on a hiding to nothing - this week will be interesting but I doubt that we will see the real ICT until Muversmell.

Going by Johnny Hayes Twitter, he's looking forward to Doran doing his running when he's back.... I hope its not just beat ;-)

Interesting tweet..

@aardc91 aaron doran

@alexmacca11 3 year deal pal nearly sorted

Hate to be a naysayer but I agreed with Buckett's earlier post and reserve judgement.

The youngsters we have brought in may be good footballers and have great potential under the right coach but the season is nearay upon us and is this a settled team or what?

I think it is rather too early for Terry to be be so aggressive in making such radical changes so quickly.

Still, good luck Mr T.

Looks like we might have snapped Doran up on a 3 year permanent deal!? Belter!

Maybe we could persuade Blackburn to give us Nick Blackman on loan for the season as well...

It would be a great addition to the squad to get Doran back, really hope the rumours of him coming back are true

Seems to be pretty solid rumour as it's come from the man himself. Will wait until any move is confirmed, but i'd be over the moon if we got him permanent.

Inverness boss Terry Butcher has targeted two new signings after Gregory Tade and Lee Cox were both ruled out of the club's SPL opener away to Motherwell. (Daily Record)

Have to agree with Dougal     that Ross's final days at the club really have to be at CB. Have to point out to Dougal that it's only 2 years, not 3, since we took the drop which makes a wee difference.

Even if Meekings wasn't injured, what I saw of him at the weekend suggests he's not ready yet for the SPL. Could be a good one for the future though.

Think we need a bit more than 2 but glad Terry is searching.

I think we need a centre half and a centre forward. Doran would also be good.

Whatever happened to the Gardyne rumours? Were they not true, or did it just not happen?

Apparently he tried to hold out for more money. Looks like we have a similar capture in Billy McKay anyway.

Well feck me - we will soon have as many ins as outs - Doran was always in the pipeline and MacKay could be the next Andy Murray. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Todays Inverness Courier has an article saying Butcher is eyeing up more signings

?We are probably two to three short of where we want to be,? he said. ?I would like another defender and a forward, so we?ll keep working away on that.

  • 2 weeks later...

Following the signing of Owain Tudur Jones, Terry is planning one more signing, a defender and by the sounds of it a deal could be done pretty soon:

The Caley Thistle boss had made no secret of the fact he wants to strengthen his backline and the deal could be done in time to allow the player to feature in tomorrow?s Scottish Premier League match at home to Hibernian. This, however, is expected to be the last signing Butcher makes before the transfer window closes at the end of August following a busy summer attempting to replace the 10 players he let go at the end of the previous campaign.

Butcher plans one more signing

So is that the last of Butcher's new signings with the news of Hogg signing and that apparent "new centre half"? Or is there something yet to come....

I was hoping for a um.. what do you call it.... a goalscorer! Happy with the 3 signings made this week but we need 1 more up front and we will be fine I reckon.

Agreed with the above post. 1 more signing needed in a striker imo but the squad is really starting to take shape now.

That's pretty much everyone needed to replace the ones that left.

Grant Munro - Tom Aldred

Russell Duncan - Greg Tansey

Max Johnson - Ed Baldy?

Chris Innes - Josh Meekings

Eric odhiambo - Billy Mckay

Stuart Duff - Thomas Piermayr

Dani Sanchez - Andrew Shinnie

Adam Rooney - Gregory Tade

Roy Mcbain - Owain Tudur Jones

Chris Hogg - Chris Hogg

Aaron Doran - Aaron Doran

Stuart Golabek and Gil blumenstein really didn't need replaced but can be replaced by young players such as Andrew Greig and Tom Smith etc.

Looking very promising this season...
