Not sure about this as I working this afternoon with the TV on

I thought I heard something that the first rounds of the Europa league were to be played beginning of July

That makes the qualifiers' in June - If we as we hopefully qualify ( by winning the cup)  that means our lads won't get much of a off season

Any body know what's what

We need to know with holidays to plan

The first Scottish club plays the second week of July. The cup winners the round after that.

Finish 3rd and lose final- 1st qualifying round 2/9th July.

Win Cup- 2nd qualifying round 16/23rd July.

Finish 4th and lose final-

Draw date for round 1 & 2 is after cup final on 22/6, round 1 dates 2/7 and 9/7.

Round 2 16/7 and 23/7.

Draw date is important as you still don't know if its home or away regardless of which round.

Looks like I was too slow in replying

Regardless of Europe its good to see the boys off in the last game of the season at Hampden.

Otherwise the last league match would be at Celtic park.

I'd like to see the team concentrate on consolidating 3rd spot over the next few weeks. If they play the way they played yesterday they should do that. Then they can go out and win the cup to provide the added bonus for European qualification to play in the 2nd round. I can also see St Johnstone snatching 4th spot from the Arabs to get the last Europa League qualifier slot.

As things stand, we need 13 points to guarantee third spot (although I think it won't need that many).

Fourth does not become the final Europa league qualifying spot unless we win the cup.

One way of looking at it is that we are effectively in a two leg play off with the Arabs for third place with us having the advantage of both legs at home as well as a six point and six goal start..

I think that is over simplifying it, as St Johnstone are still a threat. The two games against Utd are an excellent opportunity to close them out.

The first week in May is a big week - win against St J and Utd and we are probably there.

If our lads keep playing like they did on Sunday. Europe won't know what hits them The lower Euro teams are not as good as Celtic

Hers's one for the Highland marchers. Now that our last match is at Hampden is the march from Parkhead to Hampden?

Then Hampden to Latvia (or wherever)!

Two wins against United and a draw against St Johnstone is all we need. Simples. I do, however, think the drive we displayed on sunday will carry us through with a first win of the season against Aberdeen on saturday.

That would give us 62 points, which Dundee could match....

But I actually think that avoiding defeat against Utd and St Johnstone will be enough in reality.

Spot on.

St Johnstone in my opinion are our biggest obstacle to 3rd place!

Apart from Celtic, I'll be surprised if any team in the top 6 pick up more than 10 points or get fewer than 3. At the moment, at least, there are no dead games, so everybody will take points off everybody else. I think we'll get something of Abdn on Saturday and I can't see DU getting anything off Celtic. St J v Dundee is a Tayside derby, so I don't think that'll be straightforward.

Here's my prediction:

1. Celtic: 94

2. Abdn: 78

3. ICT: 61

4. St J: 54

5. DU: 53

6. Dundee: 50

That would give us 62 points, which Dundee could match....

Aye but could they make up 11 goals
