I quite liked the January transfer window thread on here because it brought a lot of speculation and good discussion between posters.

How would you like to see the summer window go? Where should we strengthen? Who should leave the club?

My wish list for next season that we strengthen in the left back and attacking options. Keeping guys like Miles Storey and Owain Fon Williams should be an imperative.

Noticed in in the daily record today that John Fleck is looking for another club. Would be an ideal replacement for Ryan Christie. El Bahkatoui of Dunfermline would be a fantastic addition to our club too.

Hope we get our business done early doors.

I've mentioned this to poles in the past and for some its not so simple.

A partnership would have to be formed first, their concern was being seen supporting another club and being beaten up or stabbed when returning to their home club for being disloyal.

They could go along low key but couldn't be seen in the shirt or waving flags or merging with the young team.

Does anyone have an idea who the two pre contract signings we are meant to be getting in?

Had a totally random thought today, whilst surrounded by a lot of polish people...

with attendance suffering and Inverness having a large Eastern European inhabitance, it may be prudent to sign one or two polish players?

I remember when Boruc was playing for Celtic, a lot of Poles came to the TCS just to see him play. Obviously we couldn't afford a player of his stature but if their was a player out there who matched our needs and budget who was also a draw for 'new' fans then why not?

In principle a good idea....would like to sign the Polish guy on the right but on past experience we are more likely to get the guy on the left....

Ive worked with s few Poles on building sites and tbh even if boruc  was in goals it's unlikely they would be at the ground watching. They are here to make money send some home and save the rest for building their own house  when they go back they don't  go out to socialise se spend money on anything but the basics. They have an objective and stick to it. I quite admire the discipline they show to be fair

I was told a few weeks ago Gomis from Hearts was one of them

Barry Wilson said on Radio Scotland post-match that a 'northern club' was after John Rankin.  Now it's not going to be Aberdeen and Ross County have a pretty settled squad all ready to go.  It can only be us he's referring to and he definitely seems like somebody Yogi would go for.

Seen a few clubs including the Dons linked with Irvine so RC may be looking at Rankin, also Aberdeen really lack any midfield steel so it may be them. If anything I think its least likely to be us.

While he was DUtd's best player this season, we already have plenty cover in that area with Tansey, Draper, Vigurs, Wedderburn (although they may both go as out of contract) and if he is fit Foran as I don't think he has the legs for playing upfront anymore - unless we consider Tansey or Draper is leaving? For the money I'd expect Rankin to be on I'd like to see us try bring in 2 or 3 youngsters we can develop than 1 player towards the end of his career.

I'm thinking that, going by statements from club and manager, we'll be releasing a few players in order to provide funds for the quality Hughes is looking for. I can see us going back to the 18 first team squad bolstered by youth players promoted to first squad but still on apprentice contracts as happened pre Butcher

Presume Wedderburn's away.  Barely been seen recently and apparently didn't turn up at the Sponsor's Night.

Not a bad thing in my view.

Agree entireley

Was confirmed in the press on Sat that Wedderburn, L.Hughes and Fisher are away, added to D.Williams, Vincent & Raven, with Storey now away back to his parent club and possibility of Foran wanting away too.

After watching the Dundee game, I think Paul McGinn would be a good addition at RB, he's also out of contract, much younger than Raven and more proven ability at this level than Horner. With Yogi preferring Josh at RB this probably wont happen but I don't recall seeing Devine confirmed as signing a new deal and its been reported as 'on the table' several time over the last month or more so we may yet get our wish with Josh at CB.

McGinn thinks his stock is higher than Dundee and is contemplating a move away from them so I doubt we would be high on his list of top destinations.

Given that Alan Archibald has confirmed that Bannigan will leave Partick I wonder if this means a) he is joining us or, more likely, b) he will sign for Aberdeen (they were in for him in January) which would also be good as it might lessen the chances of them coming in for Tansey.

I didn't realise Fisher was away.  Granted we barely saw him, but he did have the physique to offer something a bit different.  This Devine saga is a bit strange.  He's been on the verge of signing for weeks but still hasn't!  Can't really see him doing any better than here really and even then it could be argued he's lucky to be getting anything at all.

Well its been over two weeks since we were told that two pre-contracts were due to be finalised, still curious to find out who they are. Hopefully the added monies from finishing 7th will give us a bit more lee-way in securing targets sooner rather than later.

Its a shame Fisher wasnt able to regain fitness in time to play for us again this season but hopefully attacking targets have been identified.

This summer is going to be huge in terms of recruitment for us. Its a real make or break summer and our immediate future will rest on the players coming in. Can only hope suitable recruits have been identified or are on their way!

When it comes to our recent dealings, due to be finalised seems to be a very long way indeed from actually being finalised.

Lets hope not:cry: Although I'm not confident he'd have signed for us, it'd be nice to see a player leaving to somewhere not Aberdeen or Dundee.

After our apparent non existent scouting, it seems the dons must have the 2nd lowest budget in that department with their annual A96 bus ticket

Nat Wedderburn has signed a pre-contract with Dunfermline.

Here's our first "11"so far:

                     Esson

Meekings xxxxx  Warren    Tremarco

               Tansey (transfer target?) Draper

xxxxxx            Polworth         xxxxxxx

                      Foran (wants away?)

That's the core of a decent team - no question. However, we need at least another 10 (ten!) players to even have the thinnest of squads, which is why the whole Raven thing was so puzzling. I'd like to see Roberts and Doran in the wide spots and, in the absence of Raven, Devine needs to make a decision for that centre half spot (otherwise, I'd be looking for a right back and get Meekings and Warren back together at the heart of the defence). Then you start thinking about cover and strikers: Storey would be great, but I've got a horrible feeling that's not going to work out somehow. How are Ferguson and Sutherland faring? Worth keeping as back-up? What's happened to Fon Williams? In terms of midfielders, Ryan Williams looked fairly decent and we should also consider Vigurs  if not too expensive. We then need another keeper, defensive cover (development squad?) and other striking options. Again, I'm not too keen, but I wouldn't be surprised if Goodwillie was one on Hughes' wish list.

Oh...and Mutombo. After a shaky start, I thought he had something about him, even if his final ball was poor. A decent super-sub in my opinion.
