If we use the "Pre-Merger Fan Count" calculator.....we'll have about 25,000 claiming they were there.

Worst riot I saw in HL football was at Borough Briggs, 1980 Q-Cup final, Buckie v .... The Jeggies.

In fact, the second worst incident in my time also involved the Jeggies, v Elgin at Forres for some cup final in the early 90s. Madchester era.

So, who were the real hoodlums in Sneck football?

I the Buckie Jags were fined £1500 after their fans had started a riot at Elgin again'st the Inverness Jags in the cup final after a severe gubbing. Don't expect  any aggro this time as we are all happy clappers now according to this forum

IIRC that was my first away day as a very young jaggie. I do remember standing behind the goals at the east end of the ground and being somewhat bemused by the seemingly constant procession of fans from the north enclosure being 'escorted' around the touchline in front us and out the ground by the local constabulary. I think I also recall Roshie Fraser scored a 25/35/45 yarder in the 5-0 rout?

If my memory serves was it not a overhead kick with his back to goals from the halfway  line :wink:

You're going to get yer feckin head kicked in

There are still skinheads about or old bald men if you prefer that name. :clapping:

'Sing when yer fishing' -- that seemed to set the Buckie lads off.

What aboot the 90s Jeggies riot--anyone there? ICI days.

Thistle Soccer Trendies v Caley Soccer Casuals!!  Was always a non-event with a police presence at these games. One and only time I've been frisked by the police upon entering a football ground was for a Jags v Caley derby at Kingsmills in the early 90's, purely because I was dressed in baggy flared jeans and a hooded top lol ! :-SS Copper felt my wallet in my pocket and asked "What's that?".... Don't know what sort of offensive weapon he thought it might be but I replied anyway - "it's a wallet, officer!"  ???!!!

Will be next week before there's any info on ticketing.

If the game is (ridiculously) all ticket, would away tickets be available on the day at Elgin?

think it's already silly that we still don't know if it's going to be ticket or not. Probably will be due to health and safety. Would say there would be tickets on the day probably at the home end though if it's segregated

Agreed. I believe the current capacity of Borough Briggs is circa 4,500. I can't see the attendance for this being more than 3,000 at the very most. I can see some merit in the stand being ticket only but surely, for the sake of common sense, the terracing could be pay at the gate.

Doubt its going to be all ticket im sure i heard someone saying there will be pay at the gate and id predict around 2000-3000 in attendance unless we oversell tickets ;)

Just a pain with health and safety having silly reasons for the capacity sometimes one of the reasons was you werent meant to be on the grass behind the goals due to maybe slipping

personal opinion but Im sure this will be all ticket and I actually think the crowd will be nearer the 4000 mark. A lot of interest from our end and I hear the same of Elgin

All ticket is highly likely,  Elgin came through and filled up the away end with 2000.

I would assume tickets go on sale with 1000 for away, 3000 for home fans and see who sells out first for the rest.

From the number of people I've heard saying they'll be going, with the novelty factor, we'll probably take similar numbers as we do to a derby at Dingwall, so 1000 won't be nearly enough.

Just looking back up the thread a bit and to answer the question on matchday ticket sales....it would all come down to whether or not there's any left to sell on the day.  Given the limited number of tickets provided....and little chance of there being any more made available due to the way ground is being segregated....the club are anticipating us selling out our allocation before then.

Owell with look of that allocation i predict just over 3000 im sure theyll be a fair load of elgin fans there and maybe neutrals but our clubs not released anything yet and no word on segregation but possibly might be

Good on scotrail for the additional train services for your fans aswell even though its not a fair trek
