Premier Sports Cup (League Cup)

St Johnstone, Raith Rovers, Elgin City and East Kilbride, that’s an interesting group.

That’s a tough group. I’d imagine we will use it as a pre season exercise

Agreed! St J are just down from the Premiership, Raith Rovers were pretty credible last season, Elgin have been on a roll while local derbies can also always be tricky, and East Kilbride are an unfamiliar rising force.

Brora will also have their hands full in a group with Kilmarnock and Livingston… the only group with two of next season’s Premiership sides.

How do the home away legs get allocated.

I seem to recall RIG being a bit of an insider on calling how these are usually announced. You got anything for us?

@RiG never fails. Hurry up mun 😄

Edit- it’s being suggested on p&b that it’s SJFC and Elgin at home, and trips to the San Starko and that dire place with all the roundabouts.

East Kilbride have announced on their twitter they are at Home v us. Fantastic news 👏

I guess EK would until recently have been the largest place in Scotland without a league club? Population is over 75,000 so there is long term potential to be a top flight club if they could somehow build a fan base, but I suspect about 74,500 of those residents are more interested in the old firm.

East Kilbride announced for Tuesday 22nd July at 7.45pm

Pity, would loved to have the Elgin game through at Borough Briggs. Can’t remember the last time I was at a game there. Got to be 30 years plus.

No matter, looking forward to the match already. Brings back big-match memories at Telford St for me.

This competition got underway last night with Partick Thistle winning 4-1 at Edinburgh City.

We enter the comp in midweek against Elgin City.

In our group today, East Kilbride took an early lead over St Johnstone and that's how it was at H/T 1-0

Raith went in front at Elgin with a penalty and lead 0-3 at H/T

Elsewhere at H/T:

Stranraer 0-1 County

Dundee 0-1 Airdrie

Highland League Brora holding Killie half an hour in but Ben Brannan put Killie ahead 5mins before the break. 0-1 @ H/T.

Sorry guys I never saw the notification for the tag here. I can't claim to be some kind of insider for the fixtures laugh but I have some more learned pals who seem to get the call right. FWIW they again got the order of the fixtures pretty much spot IIRC. Credit to them!

I'm trying to buy tickets for the East Kilbride game next Tue. EKFC site 'Fanbase' saying 'Priority access only'. What's that all about?

It’s only available for EK season ticket holders currently

No tickets available for away fans. 😡

I’ve just bought some, didn’t want to miss out as I know a few have sold out at their ground recently. There isn’t any seat numbers on them so not sure if you would be restricted to sitting with the home fans.
