since 1994 - present

what do you think the best caley squad is? (you can use any player from any season)

Im getting a sense of deja vu :rotflmao:

The best ICT squad is the current one simply because it has more strength and depth than any of the previous squads built up by any of the previous managers!

OK I'll play. It is impossible to compare like for like of course, and we would have to say that any of the SPL squads would be able to hammer any of the previous ones, but where's the fun in that. So we just have to pick out our faves from the past and hope they all gel together. So I have put their best years against their names...

Calder 2000)

Tokely 2004, Mann 2003, Mann 1997, Golabek 2001

Cherry 1998, Black 2008, Sheerin 2001, Robson 2003

Wyness 2002, Dargo 2004

Subs - Wilson 2000, Brown 2004, Shearer 2003, Rankin 2006, Brewster 2006.

Haven't bothered checking to dates, so sue me.

Interesting Gordy... There's only 2 Bobby Manns??!.....

How can so many people leave out Iain Stewart?! :rotflmao:

And no sign of Juanjo... not even on the bench!

Good point - This issue has been addressed in my team! :rotflmao:

Being a very boring defensive minded manager...

What, no Wyness or Cowie??? This guy doesn't know what he's talking about!

That line up would have the fans flocking back :018: :rotflmao: :thumb04:

well the midfield in the current squad are the most talented with the most potential by quite a shot. for the all the other positions you could switch and mix about all day.

-----------------Brown------------------

MaCarthur---Dods---Mann---Golabek

Wilson----Black----Christie---Robson

----------Stewart---Wyness-----------

Subs:

Calder

Teasdale

Cherry

Juanjo

Niculae

Brewster

:rotflmao: I would have thought the best CALEY squad must have been managed by Alex Main, Ray MacKintosh, Peter Corbett... or maybe somebody else before my day, or even before they employed a manager.

Brown

Tokely, Mann, Teasdale, Hastings

Wilson, Sheerin, Christie, Robson

Wyness, Stewart

subs.

Calder

Dods, McCarthur

Cherry, Black

Xausa, Ritchie

Chose Hastings ahead of McCarthur because otherwise we would have had the slowest back four ever.

This was the squad for Pele's last game:

Brown, Mann, Munro, Golabek, Tokely, Hart, McBain, Duncan, Robson, Wyness, Ritchie.

Subs: Christie, McCaffray, Low, Keogh, Ridgers

**** me. Sure I was at that game, but when you look at it again, it's a pretty impressive squad. Think that team could have done OK in the SPL, especially given how good Wyness, Hart and Mann were at that stage.

We were 3-0 down at half-time and came back to draw 3-3. Russell had a fight with James Grady and they both got sent off.

The amazing thing about the team that Pele put together is how many of them actually did go on to become SPL players.

Anyway, if we're going for an all time best team again then SMEE's takes some beating.

Ha! I knew someone would say something about that eventually! :rotflmao:
