  1. Agree entirely with Dougal. Why do people choose to be so naive? No one can seriously believe that an ex England or Rangers captain would refuse either of the jobs because he's managing ICT. Why would you try to convince yourself this is a remote possibility? What's more worrying is that I am engaging in a thread that suggests he is even on the radar............ 'The English FA announce that Terry Butcher (former Inverness, Brentford, Motherwell, Sunderland, Sydney and Coventry manager) is to replace Fabio Capello (former Real Madrid (twice), AC Milan, Juventus and Roma manager) as the new national head coach. We had to work really hard to persuade Terry to give up his hugely successful career in Inverness (average home crowd 3240). Maurice Malpas will be his assistant and Tommy Cummings will now look after Wembley Stadium" Note to editors: Terry's managerial honours are: Scootish Football League runners up 2005 and Scottish First ~Division Champions 2010. Fabio Cappello has won the Champions League, 8 Seria A titles, 2 La Liga titles, 4 Italian FA Cups, 1 Italian Supercup and 1 UEFA Supercup. Runners up don't count for Fabio. Terry has as much chance of being the next England manager as me or Mike Basset!!

  2. Or maybe we can continue to try and educate them and make them aware that whilst we appreciate the atmosphere they try to generate with 99% of what they sing and chant, they let themselves down and undo all that good work with things like this? What's more, you talk about them "growing up", yet you can muster little more than a personal attack by way of childish and petty name calling!!! Pots and Kettles spring to mind.

  3. Let's not kid ourselves here if Butcher was offered either the Engerland or the Orc job he would be off down that A9 quicker than we could spell ICT Let's just hope he never appears on the radar for either Dougal

  4. I'm in the process of investigating legitimate means for providing commentary to overseas fans....which would be provided via the official website. Can't promise anything for this season, but one way or another we will have something in place properly for next season.

  6. Maybe the club could resarect "bring it on home" but perhaps it should be left in the archives. I personally think that the best song to get sung at the games would be Caledodia by Frankie Millar (Well by dougie maclean but the frankie miller version is better). I think the lyrics are just perfect for our club. I dont know if you can see, the changes that have come over me In these last few days, ive been afraid that i might drift away And ive been tellin old stories, singing songs That made me think about where i came from Thats the reason why i seem so far away today. CHORUS Oh but let me tell you that i love you And i think about you all the time Caledonia your callin me and im goin home But if i should become a stranger You know that it would make me more than sad Caledonia your everythin ive ever had. Could always change the word caledonia to caley thistle perhaps. Thoughts?

  7. Chick Young is the last person I would be helping with regards to anything let alone finding us an 'official anthem' - he can't even get the 'wee genteel ditty' as he puts it correct. As far as I am concerned he can sculk back down to the central belt and cuddle up to his OF friends like he usually always does while trying to fake being a St Midden fan I see where your post is going and it's not a dig at you, I just can't be done with the man, he'e so false and no one else is allowed an opinion when talking to him - just listen to BBC Scotland every Saturday or midweek and you'll hear what I mean.

  8. More chance of Butcher replacing Terry as captain than Capello as manager.

  9. If they drew up a shortlist of 500 candidates, he might be on it.

  10. No chance of him being offered the post but absolutely he'd say yes. It's naive in the extreme to believe anything different.

  11. Not sure if it is still the same but of the current crop of SPL teams, the clubs who did request their commentaries were blocked were: Aberdeen, Celtic, Dundee Utd, Hearts (games at Tynecastle only), Kilmarnock, Rangers. Most requested it because they had their own service to sell to fans overseas. not sure about Dunfermline or St Johnstone as they werent in the SPL when I last checked the arrangements, but I know ICT, St Mirren, Motherwell, and Hibs did not. This is the one I dont understand either .... OAM was excellent for those without access to the live commentaries, and given the dour nature of some of our commentators, actually better to listen to for the banter some weekends .... seems no logincal reason for blocking this other than the BBC perhaps making life easier for themselves and blocking all output rather than having to work out wehich streams can be broadcast and which cannot ...... I find this story a little hard to believe given the frequent compliments issued about our ticket office staff. However, I would suggest the club perhaps do have to be more careful for this type of game given the past history of away supporters in the home end. Sounds more like a club policy than a refusal for no reason.

  12. What really pissed me off yesterday was the idiots singing rule brittania and other rangers songs , thought there was going to be trouble when someone told them to shut up and sing ICT songs only for the fools to wind the guy up with "we're british and will sing it if we want" ! Cringeworthy .

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.
