I really don't follow your logic here. Far from wanting to deny youngsters the opportunity to progress I want a reserve league because I think it is a better environment for them to progress. They will play in a competetive environment with and against more experienced professionals and as a result will learn more and be better prepared when their chance in the first team arrives. I accept that there is more chance of youngsters being released if we have a reserve league rather than an under 19 or under 20 league but in reality the ones being released will be those not good enough to be in the reserve team and they are hardly likely to ever make it to the first team. Better for them to be released and find their level and get a regular game than be kept on with false hope at a bigger club. In some cases they will blossom late and if so, the regular competetive football at a lower level will help in that. The problem with an under 19/20 league is that in order to have a big enough squad to ensure you can compete in the league you are forced to keep some youngsters on who are never going to be good enough. That is in nobodies interest. Whilst I would love to see local youngsters break through to the first team there is no room for sentimentality here. What is required is a mechanism to ensure that there are players in all positions who are capable of doing a job for the first team when required. I believe a competeive reserve league is the best way to acheive this. I come back then to the point that a reserve team can be what you want it to be and I would expect that most clubs, ICT included, would want that to include any local talent deemed promising enough to be potential first team material.3 points

According to this site Tade has 9 goals so far this season, I'm pretty sure he will finish the season with at least 10 goals. A 10 goal a season striker in the SPL for a club like ours is not to be sniffed at. We obviously need the right partner for him. And I admit sometimes he can be a bl00dy nightmare to watch but to question whether we should give him another 1 year deal is a bit of a no brainer IMO. Who else would we get for the same money that would be better? Also lets not forget he single handedly beats the Dons everytime he comes up against them! **snigger**2 points

He's our top scorer this season so IMO it would be ludicrous not to offer him a new deal and see if he can improve upon it next season And no matter what you think about his skill level you have to love his endeavour2 points

If he's cheap fair enough, I don't feel he has the necessary skill to be a first choice striker. IMO he's best used as an sub when he can use his power, pace and determination to run the tired legs of defenders ragged. Not sure a player's banter in the changing room is reason for signing someone but u do get an impression that if ur face fits with TB then ur onto a winner.2 points

Our Spanish defender Roman Golobart is pretty pleased to be player of the month again and likes it so much he has changed his facebook wallpaper to display his award. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000460518688#!/pages/Rom%C3%A1n-Golobart/127704480652598 Is he the first player to interact with fans on a regular basis, as he often adds a status to his facebook page, the latest being this one:- Chosen by you as player of the month ( March ), that's the second time in this season. Thank You very much!! Well done Roman, nice guy and appreciative of some of the smaller things in life1 point

Being an Olympic champion has a great ring to it. The point of being an Olympic champion is to demonstrate that you are the best in the world at your sport. There are millions of dedicated athletes in a wide range of sports - some popular and some less so - who train hard for years in the hope that one day they can mount that podium, have a medal put round their neck and have their national anthem played whilst they stand there proudly as Olympic Champion. The Olympics come round every 4 years and these athletes target their training to be able to deliver their best performance for the games. Everyone else is doing the same so if you win Olympic Gold you truly can say at that time, when it matters, you are the best in the world. But football! The World Cup is the Olympics of football and is the competition people aspire to win more than any other. The Olympic title proves nothing and is an irrelevance as far as football is concerned. Worse, awarding gold medals to those who have little hope of ever winning the World Cup devalues the honour of winning gold in other sports. A further problem is that football is such a popular sport that even with the top teams and top players not on show there is considerable media coverage. This means there is less coverage of other sports and that is a real shame. Many of these sports get little coverage at other times and to see them played at the highest level makes a nice change. I won't be watching the Olympic football and don't give a t*ss who is in team GB.1 point

As I said last year when Rooney left and Tade signed, he is not the man to lead the line as the primary striker, but I'm pleased he is being offered a new deal, he is a good addition to the squad - we just need to sign someone to compliment him. He is a big powerful player so needs to work on holding the ball up better IMO. Best striker we have so we need to keep him just incase we cant get anyone else too. Sometimes his skill and touch shows real quality, other times it looks like he doesnt even know what he is doing.1 point

Laurence, for a lot of what you say I agree with you, but some things (like Scots in England living in a foreign land but unable to vote) are only half true. Some of your points smell like Tory alarmist propaganda, which is almost as bad as SNP smells-like-roses propaganda. The biggest problem in the whole debate is . . . for most things we simply don't know what will happen if there were to be a split. But like many divorces, it has the potential of being horribly horribly messy and with both parties being left unnecessarily hurt due to petty internecine squabbling. And for that reason alone I will vote no.1 point

Im quite happy about this...as someone touched on, i think most strikers would have struggled at ICT this year, considering the service (or lack of) they were receiving. Im quite happy about him been given another year to prove himself.1 point

Yep, this absolutely. I'd be worried if I thought Butcher was intending going into next season with Tade as our first choice central striker, but despite his limitations, his workrate and the goals he has chipped in with makes him worth keeping. He's no Craig Dargo, but he's no Andy Barrowman either.1 point

Hopefully he can develop more skills next season and if we are not in such a precarious position in the league we can possibly get more out of him. It's not been a great season to be an ICT striker given the cautious nature of our team selections and tactics. But, a word of caution, deliver next seson or be it on your own head.1 point

After independence we'll all be heating our houses and cooking with green elictricity so no thanks. We will however still be selling the surplus electricity to suppliers in England who in turn will sell it to English consumers. Maybe we should consider selling some fresh water too? Nah feck them, let them keep their hosepipe bans. The gas off Blackpool has a high H2S content which is highly poisonous. You're coming across as being an uneducated old grunter Laurence, why would that be?1 point

Anyone who purchases shares in the football club is doing no more than making a donation. As for the bricks, this was no more than a novel means of posting a list of donors - or are you suggesting that if the people who stumped up to get their names on these integral parts of the main stand actually own them, they would therefore be perfectly entitled to take their "property" away with them at any time? Well done Charles, the next time ICT (or a related organisation) gets told to do one when trying to raise funds then I'll think of the admirable job you did here in totally devaluing what was being offered and the effort being made. You sure you're not a Staggy?1 point

And how the HELL do you think the cash was found to put North and South stands at the Caledonian Stadium in 2005 when there was an urgent necessity to return to Inverness when the cost of hiring Pittodrie was threatening to bankrupt Caley Thistle? Then apart from that, I suppose getting fans to chip in to get their name put on a brick at the Caledonian Stadium or on an away strip doesn't count as the same sort of scheme since it was ICT who did it? Next up, the perfectly admirable ICT car boot sales which are an excellent means of fundraising. Has anyone seen anything on Jailender/overthebridge criticising these? Finally, it's a bit ironic that these gripes sjould emerge today... just as the names of four of the five ICT fans who have recently put their hands in their pockets to help their club out have been released. Or is this beyond criticism when it's £50K a shot or when it's ICT? I'm with Sorted on this one.1 point

Every ICT season ticket holder/match goer/shareholder effectively contributed in the region of £60 to £65 to the cost of the developments we needed for promotion, so asking for £20 a head is not unreasonable in comparison.1 point

This is quite interesting. Appreciate the rivalry bit but......... We give them a kicking because the have a multi millionaire Sugar Daddy in MacGregor who has helped them 'buy' their way to the SPL and Hampden. Then, we give them a kicking for fundraising through their support. Can't have it both ways can we? Seems to me that this is a perfectly reasonable way to revenue raise. Much less offensive than sticking a three year old child and a piece of wood under my nose in a sad attempt to draw my hard earned cash in exchange for washing equipment! Keep it up I say!1 point

The Lowland media seem to be saying this as well Laurence. But the clue is in the name. Ross County represent the whole of Ross-Shire. It is sparcely populated but probably the population of a large town such as Falkirk. There are so many teams clustered down in the Lowlands and up here there only 2 professional teams. Roy McGregor became Chairman in 1996 and has ploughed a significant amount of cash in. McGregor has made his money from oil - and there's plenty of that off the cost of Ross-shire. He is an excellent chairman IMHO and unlike many clubs down in the Lowlands, County have a real community spirit about them. For many years, County have been organising training camps all over the Highland and Islands for school children. I know someone from Barra who supports County. Why? Because as a school kid County went to Barra and did a training camp. So, in a nut shell, Dingwall may be a small town, but the club are extremely well run.1 point

Well done to County for ensuring all the moaning central belt teams, refs & pundits have more travelling to do next season! Cant wait for our Derbies!1 point

The fact of the matter is that there will never be a good time. England knows she will be far worse off without the Scots. If Scotland had never been important to England Bannockburn and Culloden would never have happened. This country of ours will survive and prosper as an independant nation. The evidence is all around if anyone wants to bother looking for it. Since devolved power came to Scotland we have put more into the British economy thsat we get back yet we are still able to operate a better health service, better and cheaper education system and have frozen council tax for the fourth year in a row. If this country can do that now then what could we do with full control of revenue? Labour will always oppose independance because they know that without Scottish seats they will never get full control of government. The Tories just dont want the risk of losing their vast swathes of land in Scotland. The final thing I'd say, and the one that always gets on my wick, is the many people who are negative about independence because they want Salmond out of power. Hellloooo.........We are talking a democratic independent Scotland......not a dictatorship. After a positive referendum you can all vote whoever you want into government.1 point
