christ would be a great signing now if he got a cruciate injury perhaps it would only be a case of 3 day to recover But like many footballers, he's just not as good as his father.5 points

An understandable decision by the management team, given that he's very much a fringe player (only 19 starts in the last two seasons) and the budget's been cut. He's just turned 28 and there's unlikely to be any further improvement in his ability - Butcher presumably thinks that he can unearth a youngster (a la Meekings) with the potential to be better than Proctor. That said, I feel more than a twinge of sadness at his departure. He's spent eight of the last nine seasons at the club and made more than 150 appearances. Whilst he's had more than his fair share of bombscare moments, there's no question that he always gave 100% for the shirt. I think he played every position for us except up front and in goal, and, like many utility players, his versatility might have been a hindrance that prevented him making one position his own. No fewer than four different ICT managers - Robbo, Brew (twice), Christie and Butcher - rated him enough to keep giving him contracts, even though he was rarely a first choice; this suggests that he was a player they felt they could rely on. I remember he joined us at the same time as Darran Thomson did - no doubt Proc has turned out to be the shrewder acquisition! His pinnacle in a Caley shirt was surely that 3-2 win over Celtic - not just a goal, but also 'taking one for the team' by getting sent off taking down Scott McDonald when he was through on goal! I wouldn't be surprised if County take a shot on him - a relatively inexpensive but experienced player who provides cover in a number of positions. Good luck to him, wherever he goes.4 points

Sorry to see him go. He was never going to be a first choice but an excellent utility player who always gave 100%. Prevented us from getting our biggest drubbing ever when he replaced Meekings at half time against Rangers earlier in the year. I would like to think the manager has got some guarantees of other signatures before showing Proc the door but somehow I doubt it.2 points

Not what I wanted to hear, definitely the sort of guy you want to have at your club. Has to be one of the most decent guys ever to play for us too, and I absolutely genuinely wish him all the best wherever his career takes him next.2 points

Got to love the way it's "banter" when one of the CTO clique has a personal attack on a fellow poster here but were it to be the other way around I have the feeling warnings would be getting dished out . Doubt it. If anyone has a problem with what one of this "cto clique" posts there's a report button if they don't use it then why shouldn't it be seen as just banter.2 points

You can say a lot about Proctor (and most of us have) but the very best of luck to him, he always tried hard for us. If, as has been rumoured, he ends up at County, I hope he becomes a first team regular.2 points

When will this all end? Please, soon. I am so sick of Rangers, rangers, money, etc etc. Scroungers, cheats, the lot of them. Whatever is the end result, no-one will be pleased - the Rangers fans, the SPL (real b.mmers who cannot make a decision), the SFL (make Rangers go to the 3rd Div- wow)(even I might go to Elgin if I was not able to go to support ICT on that date), if it was you or I who owed so much money (or even £100) to the tax man, would we be allowed to run up such a debt? Never. I have gone to Ibrox but dislike the atmosphere, intensely. This won't change, no matter the outcome. The loser is football, integrity, the lot. This whole scenario has long outlasted everyone's patience - please - .........1 point

perhaps if you feel that strongly Dougal you should approach him for an interview.....or better yet look for M McFly or H. G. Wells in the phone book and ask them for a go in a time machine. whats the point in going on about something that cant be changed ?1 point

Good point there Bucket - and perhaps there could be a deeper meaning to CB's response - in that the whole process became a bit like unravelling a Rubik cube, involved Action men on both sides of the divide - and was probably decided by a group of Bennies. Discuss.1 point

I think his best performance was in the match v Dundee united where we won 4-0. He was outstanding that day. Best of luck to him. He got a lot of stick off a lot of fans - a fair bit of it unwarranted.1 point

No doubt all his many critics on here will be pleased. Frankly I think he could still do a decent job for us as a squad player. I wish him well wherever he ends up.1 point

Shame for the lad, he was made the scapegoat on numerous occasions and other times it just never happened for him in between injuries. All the best Proc.1 point

Was a good servant to the club but has struggled to establish himself in the first team for the last couple of years, good luck to him whereever he goes.1 point

Are you sure it's not really Notts C*unty now? And are you seriously expecting anyone to believe you are questioning your support of ICT because of the hard time some of the CTO members give you on this forum? Those who give you a hard time certainly will not question their loyalty to ICT just because other fans disagree with what they say from time to time? Change your loyalty to C*unty and you will of course confirm that those who have a go at you were right all along. Show a bit more support for ICT and you won't get roasted all the time. But back to your original post. Alex is right - it's just banter. It's a love hate relationship with County - you love them and we hate them.1 point

End of term stuff. We had a lot of possession and passed it a lot but the Hibs players' priorities were not to get injured and so we were never put under any real pressure. Given the half hearted attitude of Hibs it was disappointing that there was not a bit more penetration in the final third. Plus points were:- We won We kept another clean sheet We scored a much needed goal from a Tansey free kick. I have said before that what we have lacked most this season is confidence. Hopefully that will help him because the lad has got the potential to do well. I hope he stays A good cameo from OTJ. He looks a class act. If he is with us next season and stays fit we will be a much better team. Ross Tokely. Another great no nonsense performance from the big man. MOTM for me by some margain. Nessie's half time dancing It was the last match of the season Negative points:- Whilst we had a lot of possession few players ever showed a good first touch despite being under little pressure Hayes, Golobart and Tuffey are all away No imagination in the final third Billy MacKay is not good enough. He works hard and has better touch than most but he is not good at finding the space and as a result defenders get too close and knock him of the ball. He rarely threatens.1 point

I enjoyed Terry's post match comment about Tansey's free kick: "He's been threatening to do that for 37 games!"1 point

Meekings performance level has definatly dropped as the season went on. Recently he's definatly looked the weak link, but that's to be expected how many 19 year olds are there out there who are perfect. Piermayr can be either solid or terrifying yesterday he was solid. Away to hibs he was terrifying, and again that's to be expected as he is also young that's just our predicament we can't sign players in their peak because they are too expensive. Meekings will come good like he was when he made his break through. I'd like to see piermayr stay to be there to challenge meekings for that right back slot it makes sense. It's not broken so don't fix it.1 point

Really hope he stays. He's be a fantastic player for the team in all the leagues and no one in the team is more passionate for the club and trys as hard as he does. It was a big mistake in losing munro last season and it would be an eqaul blow to loss rossco!1 point

And why the feck are we digging up a month old story from the Sun....................especially considering the very first paragraph is totally inacurate. DOUGAL THE MERGER HAPPENED.......ITS DONE AND DUSTED........WE CANT GO BACK.......FOR CHRIST SAKE GET OVER IT OR JUST P*** OFF1 point

Assuming he has made a full recovery as seems to be the case, it would seem crazy to release him on the basis that he may have niggles in future. I heard the club also paid for his treatment which seems a strange thing to do only to release him a few months later when seemingly fully fit. Having been to most U19 home games this season its fair to say the form of the team improved dramatically with him in it. The results and performances during his time out injured were very poor and yet the improvement when he came back towards the end of the season was almost instant. Whether it was his potential for future injury or not, the worrying thing here is the bigger picture. We have sat through some dire performances all season, served up by over-rated loanees without a care for the club. We then release a home grown youngster with great pace, ability and potential who would at least get the crowd on their feet and show some passion. I for one would much rather see the likes of Chubbs given a chance than suffer another season of Knakpa's, Winnall's, Aldred's etc who come here as a last resort, show no desire to be here then bomb down the A9 at the first opportunity.1 point

Sad but true. Just read it on a friend's Twitter feed. Apparently he suffered a heart attack while driving in Florida and crashed into a tree. Not sure which one killed him. Him, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Bret Hart were pretty much the ones that brought this 'sport' back into the mainstream in the late 80s and 90s1 point
