  1. but surely if performance = attendence we shouldve had more at the game yesterday than less. yesterday was pish but unless half of inverness is psychic they wouldnt have known that would happen, so surely on recent performance they shouldve turned up for this game and then not for the next after a dismal performance. there was nothing to indicate that the team wouldnt perform. you surely cant blame performance on the poor attendance?

  2. Because a lot of people like to moan about stuff but not actually do anything to help find a resolution.

  3. Is Draper going to be fit for this one, he is a massive loss. ----------------------------Reguero-------------------------- ---Raven----Meekings-------Warren------ShinnieG---- ---------------Tudor-Jones------Draper------------------ -------Doran-----------ShinnieA----------Foran----------- ------------------------McKay---------------------------------- Draper drives our team, it's pretty clear from the last two games. He is so direct and aggressive in the middle of the park, without him we find it difficult to establish the pressing game that's vital to what we've done well in the last few games. The back four were horrific yesterday but I think we need to stick with them. The errors were individual and they've all done well for us this season. We don't want to get back to the chopping and changing of last term. Foran is vital for these games, Roberts' form has dipped the last few games (naturally for a young player) and having Foran offers an outlet if we need to go more direct and from set pieces, which will be important at Celtic Park where we might not be able to establish possession. I like Billy McKay up front, he offers us options into the channels and can hold the ball up to allow us to push up the park.

  5. As already said, we did try to get the seats moved. Also were the tickets not being sold from back row down the the front? So if people were to change tickets they would be standing down in the front rows which could lead to people behind sitting down getting annoyed. I agree that the fans ourselves could have organised it better but then when it comes to away games we have a few groups of people who all come together to create the "singing section". As a lot of them come from down south and we don't all have contact with each other it would be impossible for it to be arranged just by fans. The only way this will happen now IMO is if the club makes all the tickets unallocated, which I can't see happening. Don't see why that would cause a fuss with the fans as they didn't get to chose a seat anyway. Or is if the singing people all sit together anyway and offer to swap tickets with the people who's seat they have taken (Only if they can still all sit as a group just in a different part of the ground)

  6. Yesterdays attendance disappointed me just about as much as the result did.

  7. I genuinely think that Terry needs to take a look at the situation with Foran as it's abundently obvious that his presence on the park does more harm than good. Not saying he doesn't have anything to offer but his tendency to attack his fellow players so fiercely seems to leave them scared to try to do anything just incase they make a mistake and have to face his wrath. He was far from without fault himself today and whilst he was quick to jump on others I didn't see him even acknowledge to the rest when he screwed up. That wasn't something we witnessed with this team when he was absent when the players seemed more relaxed and confident when out on the pitch and performed to their best as a result. Maybe he just needs to lose the armband and the power that comes with it so we can get the best of him without him having this bad influence over the others.

  9. Caley Jags Together are not "self acclaimed" in any way, shape or form. They are a group of fans...now numbering in excess of 300...with a democratically elected board. If you, or anyone else, is not satisfied with the work being done by those board members, then there's nothing whatsoever standing in the way of you coming forward and putting yourself up for election or volunteering your time to help. We haven't always got it right and we haven't always been able to achieve the things we would like...but we are at least trying. If some people put as much time and effort into helping as they put into coming on here criticising the efforts of others and making demands of them....then ICT would easily be able to achieve everything we want, and more. After all....it's not Rocket Science!!!!

  10. Some interesting thoughts here but whilst one or two have obviously got a handle on why we have a low fan base, I don't think anyone has explained why crowds appear to worse than last year when we are generally playing some pretty good stuff. On the face of we should have had a really good crowd against Motherwell given our league position, the quality of football we've played, the number of goals we've scored and the fact that it was a nice day. Instead we got our lowest home SPL crowd ever at TCS. Was this simply the fact that the game was on TV and folk simply saved their pennies by not going? After all, it's not as though the atmosphere at TCS makes it more attractive to actually be there. That may explain Sunday's crowd but the concern is the general poor level of support. There is simply no tradition of supporting the club in the City. The population is also very mobile with many youngsters having moved away whilst the City is full of incomes who have alleigences to other clubs and may just go to the odd match if they've nothing else to do. The core support is very low and it is going to have to be nurtured every inch of the way. If the club moans about the fans all that will do is to allienate the few who go. What is needed is a concerted long term effort of working in the community, improving the match day experience, continuing to play atractive football, making the most of the big occasions, maximising the non football side of the business. To be fair, the club has been doing a lot of this over the years but it needs to keep soldiering on. Over a period of many years the club may slowly but surely win increasing numbers of followers if the profile is maintained, but on the other hand, there may be a further drop. What is certain is that without trying to maintain a high profile in all these ways attendances will fall further and that will impact on the players we can bring in. Without wishing to go over old ground (too much ) the main reason we cannot sustain crowds is that there is no atmosphere and the main reason there is no atmosphere is the design of the stadium. I know we have what we have and there is absolutely no chance of financial planning to improve things at the moment, but IMHO we do need to keep this on the back burner. If some benefactor ever comes in with serious money we absolutely would not want to burn it buying short term success, what is needed is to get rid of our apology of a ground and build a nice compact stadium that enclosed the pitch and contained the sound. But I doubt it will ever happen in my lifetime. Meanwhile I'll continue to support my team and shout "great ball" to the dolphins.

  11. Torvean used to be quite popular in my day for sledging. On The Quarry side of the course. How i remember the long trudge home....soaking wet and freezing. Also went sledging at Craig Dunain Too. That bunker was immense for daredevils

  12. If a singing section is such a great idea, why is there not more singing happening in the TCS where the place is so empty this season that anyone who wishes to sit together to sing can easy do so?

  15. The only time I made a comment, very mild compared to this, (and I thought at the time it was constructive criticism) regarding our Team Captain, months later I was approached by him and put in my place very sternly and forcibly. Be wary, lyndwinkle, as Mr Foran will find you and then you will be suitably chastised. Ooh dear - be warned.

  16. Is this broken record back on again? Johndo what does this actually mean? It was a bad day for everyone, not just Butcher. He got it wrong. Team got it wrong, those who didn't bother to turn up got it wrong. You can't blame one man (refer back to your blaming the players and crowd remark) no matter your palpable dislike for the guy. Change the record - your far more interesting when you do.
