  1. Disagree. Over the years Rangers and Celtic have dominated Scottish football and they and their supporters have treated other clubs as training fodder from which to poach the best players. In Rangers case it became apparent that not content to be one of the two biggest clubs with levels of income that the rest of Scottish football could only ever dream of having, they were using all sorts of dubious financial means to further their aims. Now they have been found out and are briefly suffering the consequences in the wilderness of the lower reaches of the league structure. Having been mocked and patronised over the years for supporting my no hope North of Scotland team - my local team - I make absolutely no apologies for taking the opportunity for having a dig or two at Rangers and the discomfort of their fans whilst they languish in the lower divisions. Of course we must celebrate our own success, but the fact that this success comes at a time when Rangers are out of the picture makes it so much sweeter because our success has been built around sound financial management. Contrasting our success with their stuttering rehabilitation illustrates a triumph of honest endeavour over the shady wheeling and dealing of big business and the bully mentality. Don't see anything pathetic in that. In any case. let's not forget the age old custom of the bragging rights of the football fan. We certainly have bragging rights over The Rangers at the moment, so let's make good use of them whilst we can. As sure as night follows day, The Rangers will buy their way back to the top of Scottish football in 3 or 4 years and we will again be subjected to the usual patronising disdain. Don't be such a killjoy - enjoy it whilst you can!

  3. Some key moments of the game.... 1 the moment the ball left Ross Drapers foot 2 Griffith was on side when the ball was kicked 3 I think the team in blue know it is a goal 4 Celebrating with the fans

  4. If we beat St Johnstone on Friday and if other results go our way, we could be 8 points clear in 3rd at the split. That would put us a fantasticly strong position for clinching a European place or even 2nd in the SPL. Friday now becomes the most important game of the season and a win would put the pressure on the chasing pack. Getting into the top 6 has been a great achivement but maintaining current form could see the team achieve something very special. Let's hope the fans turn out in numbers and get close to creating the kind of atmosphere there was against County a couple of weeks ago.

  7. Thought I'd add my tuppence worth, in support of Rasczak who'd got it largely correct in post 16, despite PMF's subsequent protestations. There are a number of situations whereby County could still lose out on 6th spot at the split :- 1)County lose to Hearts leaving them on 45. Then Killie win their two outstanding games to get to 47, and Dundee Utd win their two outanding games getting them to 46, then St. J beat us getting them to 47. 2)Same as no 1) except we draw with St J leaving St J with 45, the same as County. Then it would be down to GD between St J and County, which could go either way. 3) County lose to Hearts leaving them on 45. Dundee Utd win their next two games getting them to 46. St J beat ICT getting them to 47. Killie take 4 points from their two games getting them to 45. Then Killie would get 6th on GD. 4) County draw with Hearts getting them to 46. Killie win their two games getting them to 47. St J beat ICT getting them to 47. Dundee Utd win their two games getting them to 46. Then 6th would be on GD between County and Dundee Utd. Admittedly County have a superior GD at the moment, but a bad loss for them and two good wins for Utd would make it very close. So, it is still very much up in the air as to whether 'the shadows' join us in top 6. Personally, I hope they do.

  9. Enjoyed the game yesterday. Thought first half was pretty even but we shaded the second half. Hibs had plenty possession but apart from a flurry of corners in the last 5 minutes, never really looked threatening. Our defence was solid, even without Warren, and I thought G Shinnie had one of his best games for us and should have been MOM. McKay put his usual shift in of 100% effort, and all in all, I was delighted with the team's performance. Enjoyed Tel joining in with some of the players for his post match celebration.

  11. Agree completely DD And from what you are saying one of the reasons why today's 3 points were very very important.

  13. Just wait till he has to thank us for beating St Johnstone on Friday night to keep them in the top six, they could still get pushed out if we draw.

  14. That shyte would choke before he says anything gracious about his bigger neighbours, i hope they scrape into the top 6 and we play them and win 1-0 with a dodgy pen. oh that would be sweet. However more importantly, a win vs Perth saints could see county top six, wonder if gobshyte would say anything then?

  15. Well, there was a game in Edinburgh where the result certainly suited County! Of course, Adams has not got the class to refer to it directly. Had the boot been on the other foot you can be sure that our manager would have acknowledged our neighbours had done us a favour.

  18. Decent result for us and to have 50 points in the SPL and to be in the top six are two notable achievements.

  19. Decent performance, better team won I thought. Fenlon's having a moan but they never really put us under any pressure. Says we never had to work hard for the two goals but never mentioned their goal. Seemed to us away up the other end that it took a deflection but maybe it was a brilliant finish by Griffiths. Also a hint of offside but we'll see it on the highlights anyway. If they hadn't equalised when they did, the ground was about to start emptying 10 mins later. Thought it was men against boys at times with Draper and Jones in the middle and a mystery how Kevin Thomson got MoM.

  21. I'd like to see them seal the title by virtue of Queens Park dropping points, on the same day that The Rangers themselves suffer an embarrassing defeat to the likes of Montrose. How flat would that be? Not far off what actually happened. A draw away against mighty Montrose and an Elgin penalty at Queens Park giving them the title. It is also good to see that Queen of the South secured the 2nd Division title before Sevco secured the 3rd. Meanwhile, without one half of the OF we have had one of the most, if not the most exciting SPL season ever.

  22. Sevco were not relegated, they are a new club for whom the rules were manipulated to ensure them a place in the SFL. Likewise they were not "banned" form playing in Europe--as a new entity they will have to wait three years to be eligible, as dictated by UEFA rules.
