  1. I have to say that I am a tad surprised that there have been so few posts on this thread. I do hope that it does not link to over confidence or a win expectancy. The next couple of weeks could really define our season. We have four winnable games - three at home and Tinkerville away. If we are heading towards Easter Road with another 7-9 points in the bag and a Semi-Final place then we will have proven that the last few games prior to the International breaks were our dip in form and blips. We will hopefully have proven that the bubble was just deflated and not burst. All four of those games are clearly in the winnable category. It will be interesting to see if TB changes his system at Dungwall and I sincerely hope that he does not go on the defensive. The other three are at home and again we should have the strength to win through all of those. For the first time in a while I am looking forward to these games with more trepidation than anticipation.
  2. As we all know, last time out on the park wasn't so great. But at home this season we still haven't conceded a goal and we seem to play well all the time there IMO. Partick are on a bit of a slump ATM so we are definitely in with a great chance of winning. No Vincent but we have good enough replacements for him. Also the game is on Sky Sports and tbh we dont really play that great when we're on live tv..... but still we're good enough at home atm so I'm saying an easy 2-0 win for us. Any thoughts?
  3. Having looked at the teams who have qualified and those who may yet - it's very likely there will be a few players from the SPFL at the World Cup in Brazil. In the 23 man squads. May have missed some but I've 11 names who could be there. Coincidentally, there's a 'keeper, a right back, a left back, a centre forward etc making it possible to create a hypothetically, plausible team: 1. Fraser Forster (England & Celtic) 2. Mikael Lustig (Sweden & Celtic) 3. Emilio Izaguirre (Honduras & Celtic) 4. Arnold Peralta (Honduras & Rangers) 5. Efe Ambrose (Nigeria & Celtic) 6. Rabiu Ibrahim (Nigeria & Kilmarnock) 7. Reuben Gabriel (Nigeria & Kilmarnock) 8. Tom Rogic (Australia & Celtic) 9. Georgios Samaras (Greece & Celtic) 10. Jackson Irvine (Australia & Celtic/Kilmarnock) 11. Rory Fallon (New Zealand & St Johnstone) Two obvious questions arise when looking at those 11 players... (a) Have I too much time on my hands? (b) Why haven't I got a girlfriend?
  4. As a modest Englishman I wasn't going to say anything. After all, we've only qualified for the world cup finals - again. It's not as if we've won it yet - or should that also be "again"? I appreciate that England's group was easier for England than the groups were for the other home nations, but that is becasue England did not have to compete against a top seed side being a top seed side themselves. Look on the bright side though. Scotland seem to be improving under Strachan and I imagine they will be in demand for a lot of friendlies with teams heading to Brazil. This will help in getting ranking points and building a good momentum ahead of the Euro qualifiers. Meanwhile England will be rebuilding after failing to meet expectations in Brazil.
  5. 1 point
I've now watched a player go from the youth system to the first team to captain to leaving to retiring from the game. Feck do I feel old now!
  6. Patrick Thistle will be a tough proposition. I watched their match against Hibs on the TV and thought they looked well organised. The only issue they've had of late is putting the ball in the back of the net. Let's hope it stays like that on Sunday.
  7. Don't forget to stick £50 on him playing international football one day....http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-24555555
  8. Yup, already got a glimpse of that ... He can fair make your heart melt and your stress fall off just by looking at him. My pal Calum once told me the same thing about his kids and I was focused on how much I would hate the horrible task of changing shitty nappies .... but that is insignificant compared to the smile he can put on your face just by making the odd noise or smiling. I have always favoured the physical/crunching centre half and shirt number 4 (my old Rugby #) ... but hey, if he wants to be a striker and score as many goals as Billy then thats good too ! If I have my way he would spend a few years at TFC and a few at ICT reaching legendary status with both My son is never modelling tractors in Farmers Weekly !!! ... I figure he is 62.5% Scottish since the missus is 25% Scottish (via her grandad) so he is more Scottish than not .... he would be eligible for Scotland, Canada and Nigeria but that would be his choice (despite my bias) Thanks - yup, definitely "vewy vewy pwoud" .... as I said above, he can fair make the heart melt and although I have already discovered it is hard work and there is no longer anything resembling a schedule we can stick to when we plan stuff, and that a full night's sleep is a distant memory, it is all worth it ....
  9. No we haven't. We've moved up 28 places to 35th. http://www.fifa.com/worldranking/rankingtable/index.html
  10. I'm coming up from South London and have a 100% win record watching Caley live!
