So my brother Chas decides to go on a 5day 1600 mile trip from Southeast London on his motor bike and takes in Inverness...'drop into Caley Thistle' I say, so last Tuesday he did just that at 8 in the morning and lo and behold the first person he see's is the Chairman....'Hello' says Chas 'I've driven all the way up from Kent, and my brother supports your club and flies up to see matches here'...... and the very nice Mr Cameron invites him in, shows him around the ground and the Trophy room and also gives him a signed team photo for me! My brother describes our Chairman as a 'really nice guy' he also rather liked the City I think there could be two of us on the plane up next season .... and possibly my wife and eldest daughter will be paying visits too! Can't wait for next season8 points

Looking in from the outside I see 3 problems 1. The League structure: Playing the same teams 3 or 4 times a season plus maybe getting them in the cups too gets boring after a while. That's why I have always advocated for slightly bigger league (somewhere between 16 and 20), doing away with the split, and playing a 'balanced' season each year where you play everyone twice ... once at home and once away. You do run the risk of the mid-table doldrums where a team is never going to win it but is always above the relegation zone, but I think facing every team just once at home over a season does make it more likely for someone to go to a game. 2. Cost of a ticket: We can say its good value, or its cheaper than the cinema or it isnt etc, or offer sweet deals here and there, but whichever way you slice it, football is expensive to watch, especially if you are bringing a group of people (Adults or Family). People do not have the same level of 'disposable income' that they once had and many people have to watch the pennies and decide which games to go to (or not). When the cost is also coupled with #1, and with a less than stellar experience once at the ground (ie. crappy concessions, or a bad run of form) then it is sometimes easier not to go than it is to actually go ! 3. Apathy: This is the hardest nut of all to crack and it has been around for years. As pointed out, we get high crowds for some games but not for repeat ones against the same opposition and this year again we have struggled to get decent crowds for some games you think would be better attended regardless of what the club might try to do to 'incentivise' the fixture. We were sitting 2nd in the league for a while and playing good football so it was not the product on the park that was an issue. When I was home at Xmas, I was excited to go to the games I could get to, but chatting with some folk, it seemed like a chore to them and they would rather be elsewhere ...... not sure how to solve this one and once it sets in for some folk you just cant re-invigorate them.2 points

I see Chalie Taylor has been offered a new contract at Leeds. Really happy for him. Always did well when playing for us.1 point

It's difficult to be sure. I thought he'd just left us... repeatedly. Anyway, in that case:1 point

Great news. Hes one of the most promising youngsters weve had in a long time. If he carries on progressing he will become an integral part of this club.1 point

This is now my choice and I would go the whole way and adopt the same design in red and black for the away shirt.1 point

Charlie knows the game and I'm sure the club wouldn't be stupid enough to try and get the boy on the cheap. He's one of the best prospects I've seen in many years and certainly the best we've had in our short history. The boy is also pretty academic with 6 straight A's in his Highers a couple of years ago so he isn't the typical professional footballer who has very little to fall back on. Good luck to the lad because I know his old man was a hard taskmaster when it came to his football and studies. Good upbringing and the boy deserves all the success he achieves through hard work and keeping his feet firmly on the ground.1 point

Congratulations Andrew, awesome performance Hope you took those skills down to Billy Hills or their ilk and gave them a right good spanking. Thanks Mr Gringo for another great job - my favourite league this one. Been on a Gringoesque losing run since Christmas, don't ever want to go through one of them again1 point

More importantly, will we be getting a Subway concession stall at the ground? I'd far rather a Meatball Marinara than a lukewarm pie.1 point

The good thing about having Hughes is that we don't need to worry about losing our manager when vacancies arise at other clubs.1 point

To the Mods: I have a very strong suspicion that SP's account has been hacked in the last few days - probably by Mrs Scarlet - some very sensible and readable commentary on employment law and pensions lately. Can you investigate please? #wherestherealpimple1 point

Don't know where people have got this idea that he has great ability. He only had about two or three good games for us and most of the rest of the time looked like he couldn't care less. His "performance" when he came on in December 2012 away at Perth was unforgivable. I've never seen a player so lazy in my life. Seemingly Falkirk fans were have said much the same. Two or three good games then can't be bothered anymore. Also, he seems a total brat of a person, which is also not a redeeming quality.1 point

Administration pending unless...

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.
That's another fine mess you've got us into.-

New Chairman Wanted, Apply Within
tm4tj posted an article in News 2023-24,
Chairman Ross Morrison resigns
Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June. More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.
Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”
Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.
“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.
“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”-
