Interesting that Yogi seems to be looking to add some physicality to the squad. All 3 are over 6 feet. Wedderburn looks more like a rugby prop than a footballer. Think we could be onto something. We were bullied at times last season. The SPL is still a very physical league. Sounds like the plan is to bring in guys with good athletic attributes and coach them into well rounded footballers. It won't always work, but we have an exceptional coaching team so I'm optimistic.

Have just watched the Hooper video...........An eye for goals....... an opportunist.......well placed strikes..... Positive attitude .........definite potential.........Under the Yogi regime this lad can do well..... Ready? ? maybe not quite yet but he is only 21 and if he listens and learns!... expect a top scorer in a few months time. Glad to hear Roberts impressed today.
  4. Ok ok so im slow but you are younger than me Gav. got badeyesight too
  5. That's us over 170 on the list now so only another 20 or so and we're onto coach number 5 which I think is a great effort! No problem making it 6 coaches if we need it..... As Scotty has said on the event page the online payment facility will be set up in the next couple of days - £10 per head return including online transaction fee. Needs to be paid before we go as I don't want to be wandering round Bucharest with loads of cash in my pocket!

So as of a few minutes ago, the new season has started!
  7. It's just trolling. Youth policy is fine and will only get better. Wee team, wee population. They're just having a pop because they genuinely don't get what it is that enables this club to do what it does. Youth policy? Of course. Football policy? Great club.
  8. Even putting my complete skinflint hat on ... A striker with a decent, proven goalscoring pedigree is an absolute must/ bare minimum ... ideally before Astra game. Between McKay leaving and Ofere arriving we looked seriously lacking in ruthless penalty box finishing even against much lesser opposition ... and we had Marley back then.

Would that be the same Calum Ferguson, born and brought up in Inverness, and a product of our youth system, who Mr Grey and SFA sees as a non Scots product because he qualifies for Canada?
  11. Reading all this makes me so jealous that I won't be going on our first European adventure, particularly as it is to an interesting and accessible country that most of us would otherwise never visit. Sods law that the dates happen to clash with the family holiday which was booked last year. Had one of my many weird ICT dreams though. Whilst on holiday, I decided to sneak away to Romania to catch the game. But the missus had hidden my passport precisely to stop me going. So I hired a hot air balloon and a Ford Transit van which would replace the basket underneath, thus enabling me to be able to steer the balloon and have somewhere to sleep on the long journey. However, on lighting the burner, the balloon and van sailed up and away without me, as I had forgotten to rope it to the ground until I was ready to go. You know how you get books which analyse and explain dreams? Incredibly, this scenario is not covered by any of them.
  12. When the national team start rewarding our players performances by picking them for the national team, I might start listening to this guff.
  13. I found this article to be totally distasteful for two reasons. First, as already pointed out by the other posters, is that geographical location has made it more difficult for Inverness to tap into any networks being set up. Develop the local youngsters and blood them . . . how? Look at our youth teams and the leagues they play in. Are they not full of local youngsters? Why look solely at the first team? Second, why were we singled out? It even notes that we had a higher percentage than the previous cup holders. Surely it should be looking at the current League / League Cup holders as after all, are they not the standard we are all supposed to be striving for? The anti-Sneck lobby are making sure we know they haven't forgotten us. GOOD. In response to the report author - I continue to cheer on my team, the CURRENT Scottish Cup holders, as they compete on the unbalanced playing field of Scottish football by trying to stay within their budget and building the best teams they can with the resources to hand, be they home-grown or bought in. We should be being praised for the number of local lads we have developed over the years that have gone on to achieve - not be criticised. If anything, we are an exemplar. In short, get stuffed Alistair Gray. Go ask Celtic what they intend to do about it.
  14. Is that a Perthshire phrase then? Down in Midlothian we say, ooh, I'm dying for a thingwie, I'm off to the Ian
  15. Peterhead have signed Shane Sutherland from Elgin City. He'll be looking to form a goal-scoring partnership with Rory McAllister.
  16. Montrose captain Garry Wood has signed for Formartine United. Ironic that it was his wonder goal that prevented Montrose from 'slipping' into the Highland League - yet a week later he signs for a club in that very league! But there's more money, apparently, for him at Formartine. Also in the Highland League, Andrew Greig of Brora has been named Highland League Player of the Year. ...and Craig MacMillan has left Buckie Thistle to sign for Rothes.
  17. Careful Long Man its about a tenner a pint.
