  1. FYI, on his way down the park he WAS applauding the ICT fans, then turned to go back down the tunnel, appeared to remember about those he then went to speak to. he made more of an effort than 90% of the players who barely acknowledged the travelling support. only Jake, Fisher and Josh actually made the effort to come all the way down and applaud us.

  2. The question is surely more one of where he is in the UK all time list. There are some stand outs like Redgrave but for all his achievements, he competed in an event that very few people do and which really only gets publicity for a race once every four years. His success has also been helped by able partners. Tennis is played in a large number of countries by large numbers of people (or at least large numbers have played it at some stage and those with the talent will have had opportunity to emerge). It is an individual game requiring a challenging combination of fitness, skill, tactical awareness and determination. In addition, to get to number one in the world you have to demonstrate a consistently high level of performance. Murray may have just reached number one but he has been in the top four or five for some years playing in an era with 3 of the all time greats. Not only has he reached number 1, he has won slams, Olympic golds and the Davis cup. It really is a pretty impressive record. Who else in British sport compares? Personally I would rule the cyclists out. Whilst I agree that Hoy has been outstanding, several cyclists have come to the fore and I think that a lot of their success is due to the advantage of the technology and the conditioning of the team for the big events. They are not performing at a top level week in and week out. Golfers also compete in an internationally popular sport week in and week out and so I guess Nick Faldo with his 6 majors must be up with the best. Football must be the game with most players across the international stage but whilst we can think of loads of very good players (Best, Charles, Charlton and Law - to pick one from each of the home nations) I can't think of any players that would clearly fit the bill as a stand out player. It is difficult to look at any name and say that they are ahead of Murray on the all time British list. If Murray can maintain his number one status for a couple of years and win another 2 or 3 majors then surely there will be little room left for debate.

  3. You need to remember these guys are human (and normally a long way from home). I wasn't at the game but if he applauded the travelling support then I would have no qualms with him having a brief chat with friends or family from the other end, perhaps people he has not seen in a long time. Different story if he applauds the green brigade and ignores the away support due to allegiances.

  6. Why is it a disgrace that the players didn't wear poppies? Maybe they didn't want to, after all, it's their right. I didn't wear a poppy to the game. Am I a disgrace?

  7. Could someone please explain why the team never wore a poppy on there shirts for the Celtic game? an absolute disgrace &once again the club showing how out of touch it is with its fanbase i expect it from the Rats we were playing but expected more from ICT.

  8. No Renegade u were just in fear of ur safety yes? and yes for a club who have many vetrans among there support nd who come from a area rich in the history of the Armed Forces the team should have worn a poppy on there shirt, but i also see the officials never wore one either so it must have bin on strict orders of the host club not to show any respect for the poppy or the sacrifice many made.Of course its freedom of choice to put a poppy on just like its freedom choice to ask questions on a fans forum.

  10. Don't know if a lot of people noticed Mulraneys behaviour at end of today's game. Fisher and Meekings came over to acknowledge us then Mulraney runs up the park, jumps over some hoardings, shakes hands with a couple of Celtic fans then runs past us again without acknowledging us at all. I find this unacceptable - he is a Caley Thistle player and I don't care who the supporters were that he shook hands with he blatantly ignored the fans of the club that pays his wages. Total lack of class on his part and those of us who witnessed this were gobsmacked.

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
