  1. I don't think Warren has the skill or mobility to be re-born as a striker. Funnily enough though, I did think Josh Meekings could've done it - strong, fairly quick, decent passer, quite a hard shot on him, it could've worked but hey ho.
  2. Some of the utter pish that people write on this website is an embarrassment. Imagine being a grown man and sitting down and typing this stuff out.
  3. "extend their unbeaten run" ???
  4. Although I admit his best is now behind him, I rate Garry Warren as just our best ever acquisition, a real star for us over the years. I hope he sees out his career with us with dignity, whether it be at centre half or wherever. At least we know he will give his all.
  5. Don't underrate Garry Warren there is a lot of ability there and could adapt to a forward role, We haven't got a proven decent marksman as yet and until such time as we do it is worth a punt
  6. Jagster i just laughed.
  7. 1 point
Tad on the rough side today but a thoroughly enjoyable trip yesterday with the Lillies Must admit it was not a traditional day out what with all the dressing up and costumes etc but I guess it is nearly Halloween Everbody reasonably friendly although there were a few complete belters travelling but what support doesn't Despite the 5-0 score line still enjoyed the game but in all honesty it was all over as a contest by half time, Clach keeper took a sore one and was rushed off to hospital so I hope he is on the road to recovery Strong anti merger rhetoric amongst the support and local journalism which they were quite open with Not sure I will make a habit of it but it would have still have been a better trip than the women's guild bus to Falkirk Lord Provost Dougal
  8. Here's our own report on the game with video footage and interviews added.
  9. Actually, I want to be entertained as well. The two seemed to go hand in hand almost every game in the days of Steve Paterson and quite often happened under Terry Butcher as well. The two are not and should not be mutually exclusive and, for what it's worth, I've spent more than a few evenings at Eden Court over the years failing to be entertained and you can't even console yourself with a bloody pie at half time !
  10. Can I sit next to you next time I come up (it'll be March though) ...I'm very much a glass half full guy, and always appreciate a good bit of work recognising if players were really that consistently good they wouldn't be playing for us (and I have that same view at Palace, even though they're paid considerably more). I don't think the Tulloch stadium is very conducive for creating a great atmosphere, being so open, coupled with the fact we're still a young team in terms of existance (and thus tradition), and of course get pretty small crowds. When I come up I sit in the main stand and have plenty of people around me that moan for moaning's sake because they've paid the fee to come in. That said it does tend to be a vicious circle, fans want to see honest compentent players putting in a shift, and tend to get behind them when it happens, likewise Players need encouragement and also often surprisingly fragile flowers (but then who enjoys going to work and having people slag you off from the sidelines) so can both be raised up by positive vibes or hide due to negative comments (which are easier to hear in a quiet stadium). However this in not confined to a club like ICT, look at Arsenal their atmosphere at home games is terrible, whereas I also support Palace a team with allegedly the best atmosphere in the EPL (certainly yesterday the atmosphere against Chelsea gave me goosebumps) and is often cited by players as a factor in a good result. Anyway as for yesterday, in many ways i'm quite happy with that result, Falkirk were in those group of teams I saw challenging for promotion, and it seems we were well worth the point orn deserved more. More encouragingly we are slowly sorting a team out of the collection of players we have. Guys like Trafford and Bell, coupled to the guys like Vigurs, Polworth and Tremarco, starting to show their worth, good to hear Donaldson having a decent game... The Pre-season games seemed to indicate that Seedorf and Oakley were useful acquisitions, potential not yet fulfilled, and it sounds like Mulraney's international duty had a positive effect. It will be interesting to compare the points tally over the next 9 games...who knows we might see more Danial Mckay a bit more or find that the lesser spotted Zak Elbouzedi is a real player. I'm up for the away match at Livingston soon, and looking at their form, could be a real gauge on any improvement
  11. No problem happy to be put in my box with a different opinion. When i was playing rugby i would have clubbed the fans to death for any of the abuse vigurs, devine, polworth, christie, tremarco and ross received. Have sat beside family members of the team and had to tell fans around me to quieten down . Children and wifes and mothers almost in tears. Ask them to compare caley to dundee or stmirren or motherwell and how they are treated. I am notorious for saying to the people sitting around me evangelically at the game theres a good pass from vigurs, great run from polworth etc challenging any unreasonable negative jeering. I must be hell to sit beside.... I feel like one man against the whole stand at times and its not focused on me. But happy for a different view from a different area. We should get all the caley fans to go on a bus trip and watch glasgow rugby club to see a supportive atmosphere and see how we could replicate it....
  12. We played well. The downside is we should've won the game, we missed some really good chances and need to be clinical when offered opportunities. upside is that we were solid - the only chance that Falkirk created was a header that Ridgers dealt with and Donaldson looked very strong, dealing with everything that came his way. Full backs did well also. In midfield Polworth did well, worked hard and got himself into position to take a few shots. Vigurs was magnificent, used the ball so well, protected it. He was out best player, the Elgin Pirlo. Mulreany also had a good game, especially in the second half, he attacked their full back and had him beaten at will as the game went on. His delivery is still poor although he had a cracking shot that he the post. Up front Baird and Bell worked hard and had some great touched but the ly should've each scored, probably a couple. Finishing is a big weakness. I went into the game expecting abjectness but came out with a bit of hope. There is life in us.
  13. By all accounts, with five shots on target and hitting the woodwork as well, this sounds like a very different 0-0 draw from the dire performance against Queen of the South a fortnight ago. All in all, away against a Falkirk side boosted by the appointment of a new manager, an encouraging result and performance in the context of this season
  14. 17 shots, sounds like we should have taken all 3. An improvement from recent weeks at least.
  15. That's a really good point which sounds like we possibly deserved all three. Well done team and boss.
  16. Agreed on that. Have Warren and Donaldson played together as a two man central defence this season? Could be our strongest pairing.
  17. I would like to see Garry playing up front, a good target man for the long and crossed balls, perfectly capable of ruffling a few defences and getting and making a goal or two..........thoughts ??
