On the Angus Beith question , Im up tomorrow and will ask Robbo what the outcome is but from what I ve been told in the past is that there was a recurring injury which was expected to clear up but just hasnt up to now so it doesnt look good for the lad. I ll ask John to clarify the situation when I see him. The other question that was asked was George Oakley. The club was between a rock and a hell of a hard place. We did not want to lose him but contract up in the summer and he wanted to play SPL football for Hamilton and it was one of his old gaffers that he knew he was going to......we were buggered ! Sad , cos I really liked him. He gave 100%, when he was on the pitch.

As a member of Caleythistleonline for many years, before being invited to join the board of our club I`m pretty sure that every member of that board does all they can to help and promote our club. The big problem is the "all they can" bit . I started supporting Thistle in 1974 and have been through the highs and lows up to now and it was a great honour to have been asked to join the board of the club that I love passionately, but I, and the rest of the club need as much help as possible. To say sack the board is easy. If the board firmly believed that this would help the club to a better, brighter and financially secure future the Companies House 288a forms would be signed and on the table. We d go on masse. If anyone has the golden bullet out there or an Abramovich in the wings dinna hold back cos I for one have only one thing in mind and that is getting and keeping our club up where it belongs, in the SPL. At the moment an Abramovich isnt likely so the team and club need all the support we can muster and get a flow of positive ideas on how to make the Stadium noisy again. Have people smiling again , and I get the fact that the results arent the best just now, I was at East End Park on Saturday, but that is a few games, we re now in our 25th years an we`ve done a hell of a lots since 1994. I replied, I think, to everyone that posted comments on that thing on Facebook last week about me, to hopefully make sure that they were aware that the club is listening and that I would personally be delighted to speak to anyone and everyone that wants to speak to me or anyone at the club about our club, but a basic Sack the board without a plan B doesnt work. You need an alternative. ICTFC, as you will see from the accounts, runs at a huge loss, and has done for the majority of the years it has been in existance, and relegation has made this worse. We need to be clever to increase our income, from season tickets to sponsorships to whatever can be thought about. We need constructive ideas. Thats my rant over, but if anyone wants info from me or can provide good ideas to help our club you now know where I am. BTW I have no idea who the bird on the bike is on the profile pic. Good pic though.

If it wasnt for my emotional tie with the club I would never think of going onto a board of a company which has lost money in the majority of the years that it has been in existence. But the tie is there and however I try I cannae lose it so I have to try my best but my experience is with business, property, not football clubs, so I have to take advice and help from people that know more than me in promotions and sponsorship matters , but also ideas are needed to increase our footfall from everyone who associates with ICT The club now owns the stadium. Thats an important start. We are setting up a ICTFC Foundation where we are looking at taking the club more out to the community . Look at Hearts. How successful they have been pulling together now . Financially secure due firstly to Ann Budge, who saved them, then the fans have taken that over with their monthly £20 etc etc. foundation contributions, but they only did that when they went into administration. When the **** hit the fan , big time, the fans got together and now they are blossoming, compared to the aftermath of the demise of Vlad. But it happened after a major disaster. We need to get round the club and help . No point in glib "sack the board".. I`d resign in a minute if it helped the club. Its nothing to do with me, its about the club. So if you want to know something and I can answer the question, just ask. Worst I can say is no. Never ask never get, but more importantly is what we can all do for the club.

Aye, lads we really , really do! And that would really make up for a lot of somewhat disappointing forays this year , eh? On a positive note though , how interesting and encouraging is the fact that we now have a very responsive gentleman fan offering to answer our questions to the Board directly as far as he can achieve that. So often in the past have fans apparently been disappointed by the response to their queries that this is deffo a move forward and into the limelight. So, keep on posting sheepslagger. Boy! You are a breath of fresh air,. I am sure IHE will now have a retort in agreement, like.!

Hers a thought, I ve got an email address at the stadium which I havent used yet. I ll make sure its up and running tomorrow and if I dinna get back with answers in reasonable time get back to me and remind me. I ve got my own businesses down in Dundee, where I live and work, so i havent got buckets of spare time but I can sometimes forget things . [email protected] On the West Stand , it makes sense for folk wanting to stand. If its a cost issue , which makes sense , I ll get back and tell you. Cannae see any other reason. It would help if you send me bullet points so I can put them forward. I ll see what the steward crack is with the stewards. Personally over zealous stewards can seriously **** me off . Thanks for taking the time to contact with me. I ll do all I can to help our club. Cheers
  6. Them and Falkirk will go on a run both bought wisely in January ! McDonald's a great signing for them get balls in to the box and he'll put it away! He's what wev been needing for 2 seasons!

Proud to be a Jaggie !!
  8. Just watched the highlights and we were pissshhhh. There was nothing of note from us at all. In games like that Robbo should've cut his losses and given the youngsters a run out. Perhaps then some of the "seasoned" pro's might get a wake up call. We never really looked like winning and after the goal went in a loss was on the cards so he had nothing to lose and much to gain. If one or two of the youngsters put in a bit of a performance then it creates a little competition for the established names, who if I am completely honest, look too comfortable as if they are unlikely to be dropped. There is no motivator there so until Robbo does do something, or becomes a bit more ruthless, these pissshhhh performances will continue.

Sheepslagger is right. She is rather tidy on that bike.... It is difficult at the moment for sure. As sure as if we beat the gadgies tomorrow, the forum will be a utopia of positivity. I'd never advocate sacking this board at present and as I've said before anyone who calls money being injected to the club an investment is bonkers as you usually invest to get at least your capital back. A poison chalice I'd suggest but someone has to be on the board - much like any committee I've ever been on, you can only do your best with what you have at the time and usually have over 1,000 people telling you you are doing it wrong and less than 1/3 of them probably willing to put themselves forward to help. We all know the road ahead will be bumpy - I think what is needed is transparency in terms of what the actual plan is to address these issues - both historic and current/ ongoing - and how that is going to impact the club going forward. And whilst the club does need to be run in a business like fashion in terms of the finances, we need to remember that most of us have an emotional tie to the club which does cloud things from time to time.....
  10. That's basically what I was trying to say yesterday - except that I looked only at the worst case of coming straight back down. As well as the boost to finances, it would also give the team experience of football at the higher level. That would clarify who could make the grade and who couldn't - and would also identify those who have the desire to make the grade versus those who don't. If it was a referendum, I'd vote for promotion!
  11. We are a long way from being prepared for the Premiership but nobody in their right mind would turn down promotion. Even if we were to be immediately relegated the extra million pounds plus from being in the top tier would be a very welcome and timely boost to our depleted coffers and, even if we did go back down again, there would be another two years of parachute payments. More optimistically, you never know, the bottom few teams in the Premiership are not much better than those at the top of the Championship and with a bit of luck and some judicious recruiting over the Summer we just might survive and eventually prosper.
  12. Well, Tuesday can't come quick enough for me lol so hopefully the lads are up for this and repay the supporters for yesterdays debacle and tbh, I think they will give us the desired reaction . Regarding the line up, I'd be inclined to go for a straight 4-4-2 attack minded line up :). Ridgers Rooney, McCart, Donaldson, Tremarco Walsh, Welsh, MacDonald, Doran Austin and White. If Polly is back fit then put him in instead of MacDonald and, likewise, if Coll is out, put in McKay. A lot of supporters seem to criticise Jordan from what I've seen on here, on Twitter and on Facebook but tbh, I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be. Hopefully a few of our youngsters like Harper or McGregor get on at some stage to show what they can do :). I really hope the crowd is as lively as Monday night because, I thought they were excellent that night :).

Re the wee girl why not ask the steward what he was thinking about? Seems to be somewhat hasty in his judgement and a polite reminder would probably have gone a longer way. Also remind him gently that the club subsists on punters like these two good fans.....! As for the questions of sacking anybody ,does anyone think that either the Manager or the High Heid Yins feel great about the limited progress being made this year? Of course they probably don't. Sacking JR is a thoughtless attitude. That's like the crew of the sailing ship "Pretty Polly" doesn't like the way the ship is turning in the wind and is screaming at the mate ''Let's chuck the Captain overboard"", make for yonder island and we can rebuild the boat from the weak and young palm trees, if (i.e when) it smashes up on the shore." I think we should continue to shout encouragement to JR and the lads and then shout again. No other way of salvaging this season, which frankly has not been THAT bad if you look at the table. NOt great, like, but not HORRIBLE either.

From what I know Liam Dalgarno and Gordy Fyffe on our Board along with Charlie Christie are organizing a load of other things for the 25th anniversary. This is just one thing . The tickets are`nt cheap at £100 plus VAT per skull but hopefully we can raise plenty dosh for the club. To be honest cannae mind getting an email about it myself. I ll try and find out where the list of things that are planned for the ICT25 year are.
  15. If it is on Radio Scotland it will be on MW so not sure if you will get that online.
  16. He is good friends with Gary Caldwell that is why he is there.
  17. The scouting system you refer to was Steve Marsella and YouTube. Marsella is now at Kilmarnock. I hear YouTube is still available.

I guess a little more regular updates from the board wouldn't go a miss but sacking the board is a bit extreme. There were promises made just over a year ago and noises made about improving things on the comms front but they seem to be a little slow to materialise. The ground deal has hopefully now gone through so that's one box ticked. Hopefully that can help us attract a little investment? It's been mentioned before about using the stadium for gigs etc - surely worth a punt if it helps pay a few wages and it gets people into the habit of going to the stadium? Seems to me that to get bums on seats we need an improvement in performances on the pitch - this needs money obviously. Sadly, at present we seem to be in a downward spiral - poor performances, less bums on seats, less interest from possible investors, leading to less money for players, and subsequent poor performances. We have to find a way to break the vicious cycle.

Can I just add Mr sheepslagger, the opening post on this thread, whilst not really breaking any rules, was started by a person that is well known for exactly this type of outburst, not only on this site, and is not a view held by most on here. That's not to say everything in the garden is rosy as you well know. I will ask one question that many are asking. What's happening with Angus Beith?
  20. You're being far too generous in your summary..............don't get me started about Brad Mackay!!

Hopefully in a capacity that doesn’t involve us paying his wages until his contract expires in 2021.

If you were a promising young footballer and were facing up to the reality that your career was over shurely you would need time to take stock and ensure that any announcement was clear and final. Perhaps what ICT need to do is to make a statement about our situation with Angus - even if it is skewed and unclear. I feel nothing but sorrow fer the lad if the "rumours" are true. Perhaps the Supporters Trust could intervene ?
  23. Ok, I'll bite. Your multiple accounts over the years have all ended in you getting personal with others and dishing it out but not being able to take it in return, then taking the huff, dishing out abuse and buggering off to P&B for a while before coming back and registering a new account all of which are pretty obvious to anyone who has seen you post before. All your other accounts are still there - just marked 'pending' until discussion with site admin. This is a private site, with rules. They are not very complicated ones, and if you keep wanting to ignore them then this account goes the same way. Your choice, not ours. be civil. We do reserve the right to refuse or revoke membership to the site ... its not a public service so the entitlement you display is unfounded ! If you think there is something wrong with any particular post from IHE or anyone else then use the reporting mechanism in place instead of hijacking the topic. The mods will discuss and make a decision. As the site owner, I can and will say that if you continue to bad mouth site users and try to moderate within topics by throwing out insults then we will simply set your account to post moderation. See Scotty, this is what I mean. I get warned yet this auld ass gets away with this, talk about favoritism and unfair treatment. You guys are useless and tbh, ban me all you want but I'll just keep reregistering!! How come this poster gets let off yet my first post gets a warning, please answer this, or better still, give them an ultimatam like I got ? or do these so called members get let otf whereas newbies like me don't!!!!!!!!!!
  25. I hope we miss the play offs as it'll be a real wake up call to the players, management, board and fans. Otherwise we are in danger of too many parties patting each other's backs that the season was a success and masks where we are. The fact we can even be considered in contention still is damning of the lack of quality in the league. We are ***** and our record and number of points show it - 7 wins in 24 isn't a level which should be deemed acceptable.

Has anyone actually said that the chairman plays any part at all in player movements? If so, I've missed it.
  27. Easy Peasy - Reminds me of my dissertation in improving the public image of Pomagne, Scotsmac and Eldorado.

Enough is enough now, our chairman MUST be responsible for the pish that we have to endure week in, week out so he HAS to be replaced! How can we expect promotion when the ass sells a striker in the last few hours without getting a replacement plus nobody knows what is happening at the club because he tells us nothing, yet our new vice chairman is saying that things will change, well, it doesn't look like it!! Tuesday is a big game and tbh, it should be the one that determines the managers position, lose and he'll have to go, win and he deserves a new contract. But to be fair, he deserves credit for the job he's doing with the dross he's got at his disposal . 4 wins in 19 is just pathetic!
