  1. Delighted we got the win today. With the resources at hand, the gaffer is doing a great job. Long may he remain at the helm. Heard Odi and Granty were superb today. Roll on the sheep.

  2. dont know a time as yet. Caleyboy they are making progress. ICT 0 ST J 2 First game back in spl, only 13 players with 2 keepers. Man sent off after about 25 mins for handball on line, went down only to a late strike from ST J Motherwell 2 ICT 0 away to one of the better youth teams, ICT didnt get outplayed but failed to find the net and showed promise Rangers 2 ICT 0 away again to a team who reportedly had a player Rangers paid ?100,000 for. Not a lot of difference between the teams apart from luck and a late late won it for the home team at Murray Park ICT 1 Hibs 2 Home against a good Hibs youth, again holding their own but not having the luck infront of goal. Also suffering from a few players carrying knocks and coming back from injury. Hibs sharp infront of goal, but a goal from Chad with 10 mins to go but unfortunately they couldnt muster a leveler. Hearts 4 ICT 3 desperately unlucky not to pick up a point. Hearts had been the better team and lead 3-1, but an inspirational fightback brought the teams level for Hearts to score a very late winner. Encouraging signs, and now showing their scoring touch through Calum Dingwall, Adam MacLeod and Neil Erskine. Remember ICT are playing with just a couple of 18 year old, several 16s and two 15 year olds, so physically they are a year or so on average younger, and a year less of full time training. They have some very talented players, and with injuries, suspensions and international call ups have been thread bare for some games. Liam Polworth has been on international duty, Kyle White too and came back injured, sent off player suspended, and Adam MacLeod coming back from a bad ankle ligament injury. The team is starting to make progress, and the next two games are against the two best teams in the league, Aberdeen and Celtic - both unbeaten and scoring goals for fun, but then they have 4 out of 5 games against teams in the bottom 6. A win will not be far away and then the confidence will grow, and Keith's Under 19s may help that progress. It will also be their first ever game at the TCS against Keith

  3. More apologies to Eric - that was a well taken finish. Yeah.... If only you would desist from seeing Eric through that alcoholic haze, you might just realise he is a pretty decent player. You made the same mistake with that Brazilianesque effort of his against the Jambos.... Green dot please!

  5. As a lead clinician fer the PeterKayshire CRHTT I would wish to declare a mission statement on behalf of Terry Butcher and ICT. The team has been put on a "red alert" and it requires fans to be tolerant, patient and to provide more support than usual. Our depleted ranks will undoubtedly apply 100% and so does the fan base. Starting tomorrow at Paisley we simply have to lift the atmosphere and we have to zip the lip to any criticism during the game and vent any frustaration in type on here thereafter. Tomorrow is all about total encouragement and support from the first second to the last. We simply have to stay and applaud them off if we win, lose or draw. So swear allegiance ya feckers - our club is in an injury / selection crisis - and I seriously think that we can be a 12th man fer the next few weeks - HOME and away. PAISLEY - BRING IT ON.

  6. I was curious as to what happened to the various players who Terry decided he didn't want. Here's what I've found. Recent Trialists Callum Morris (ex-Newcastle and Ireland U21 defender) - Blyth Spartans Darren Lough (left back, ex-Newcastle) - Ashington AFC Andy Milne (ex-Leeds) - signed for Barrow, but soon got loaned out to Gainsborough Trinity Samuel Oji - still unattached as far as I can see. He was the one who seemed very injury prone, and never featured for us in any friendlies. Gary Mackay Steven - still unattached as far as I can see. He was the other one who seemed very injury prone. Players Released Dan Stratford - Hereford (League 2) Robert Eagle - Grimsby (Conference) Nauris Bulvitis - FK Ventspils (Latvia) Jamie Duff - Elgin Lionel Djebi-Zadi - no idea. I suspect he's playing non-league somewhere in France. Andrew Barrowman - gave up on football altogether Feel free to correct or add to this, or to go back further than last season. All in all though, I don't think Terry will be losing any sleep that he let a star slip through his hands.

  7. Sorry guys but this is exactly why rumours should not be posted. Everyone gets into a slagging match - already we have someone saying let him go if he doesnt want to be here ! Did Adam actually say he doesnt ? I dont think so ! He is a professional footballer who came from Stoke City ( suppose to be on a loan deal first but neither Stock or Caley could agree with that. He signed on a 3 year deal ( dropping down in wages may I add ) to come to Inverness. He has Im told bought a house and settled in Inverness for the past 2 years so I cant see where Adam has not shown commitment to Inverness or football. Footballers are like any other person in a career - you have to look at the bigger picture - where to do want to go in your career ? how much will you be paid ? the only real difference is there's is a very short career and the lucky one's make big money. Adam is still a contract with Inverness and if he and the club can agree on terms that suit both Im sure he will. So lets get behind all the players and club and give them our support - roll on Saturday.

  10. For at least half the SPL, the focus is on not being relegated. That encourages negative football as clubs have the mentality of not losing rather than trying to win. For all games the pressure is on the home side to come out and attack, which makes it easier for the away team to sit in patiently and counter attack when the opportunity arises. The stakes are too high for the clubs outside the top 4 or 5 which doesn't help the quality of football. Its all about incentives and with the levelling of the playing field combined with the strength of the Old Firm over the last few years, survival has become the only target. A larger league would help ease that pressure, I think anyway.

  11. I will give ya a green dot fer that - we were in the Alamo and heard about this although the rumour was that you had all been asked to sit down !! But what the feck were you doing in Legoland and not the Alamo at 2.00 ? By the way - can ya see the fervour of the support on the caleyjags.com site.

  13. That was the best trip that I have ever been on - well at least since Tannadump - but I lasted longer than Richie Foran and was even there to wave to Rosscoe at the final whistle. Great pre match banter in the salubrious surroundings of the Alamo Wine Bar - nice to see a smattering of the old codgers, the Central Belt Massive (even feckin Stan !!), the Sesh, the away regulars, some new faces and the solitary burd in the corner with the Guinness. Anyway it was a really dire first half but it was a wee bit of a flashback to the Jam Tarts game - in reverse - Proctor (thankfully in retrospect) a la Ian Black took an early knock and had to hop off - leading to the game winning shuffle, an Esson wonder save and a "killer" goal by Eric, a la Kevin Kyle, just before the break. Plus WE came out of the blocks with a vengeance and in a way, in retrospect, killed the game with a sclaffed second from Eric - or does he mean them ?!! It may well have been some tiredness from Wednesday night and having to play some players for too long but I also felt that we did get a bit over confident and sat back further than we had done all the game - it was a tactical ploy using the hoof to Rooney and Eric - which I can appreciate and understand. And lets face it - it was going to take a wonder goal to beat Esson yesterday and unfortunately it happened. I have to admit that although they never looked like scoring it was a bit of a tense last ten minutes. All in all we deserved to win and Midden were poor which helped as well. To me the difference between the two sides was that we used the width - especially Hayes - and we had pace, strength and movement up front with Rooney and Eric who will trouble any SPL team on the break. Isnt it great what a difference three days make - and Butcher can have a wry grin and a glass of red plonk knowing that he can justify his team selection at Parkdread And you could see what Esson and Tokely thought of the tremendous away support as they saluted the faithful at the end. And the delirious gathering of the SESH and the MOB rode back side by side on the train to central Station as the glorious vibes of "Caley Away with Terry and Mo filled the polluted Paisley air. And what about the stewards ? Take a feckin bow ladies and gentlemen ESSON I will give him my MOM as the save in the first half and one in the second simply kept us in the game. I thought that he was simply immense all through - what confidence that must induce in the defence (and it showed) plus his distribution, especially the quick throws, was first class - he really actually does deserve a cap at the moment - and boy must he be cheesing off Tuffey. PROCTOR Shame fer the lad but he is not a right back but he is a good cover squad player. His loss was ultimately our gain. ROSSCOE: Best all round performance in a long time - although I have to concede that Wardlaw is tailor made for him. But his graft and determination were shining examples to all around him, including the support in the away end. His clenched salute at the final whistle will live in my memory banks fer a while. GRANTY I feel that he is our most consistent performer at the moment. He simply led by example and didnt put a foot wrong. I am sure that it is a good bet that he would prefer to cover Shinnie rather than Lionel or Golly. SHINNIE Unsurprsingly nervous looking at the start and evidently targetted by Midden - but the lad stood his ground with the close suppoprt of Granty. I suspect that there is more to Shinnie than we saw yesterday as TB - or probably Mo - clearly instructed him to play in a no nonsense fashion and he followed the advice to the word. Gillet will be back in when he recovers but the wee man has made the left back position his own until then. HAYES He can be magic and a handful but he does frustrate me as he can disappear from the game for 5-10 minute spells and he faded again in the second half. But there is an air of expectation when he gets the ball wide with only the full back to take on. he is yer old fashioned "tanner ba" player and if he could deliver for 90 minutes he woll be some player. DUFF He was actually close to MOM. He is clearly an experienced right back - although he probably does not want to play there. But he has to stick there until Mccann comes back. His positioning and cover were first class and he was the first ICT right back that I have seen in a long time who thinks about the game, holds the line, slots in beside the central defenders when the attacks are down the right side and does not drift out wide until he has to. DUNCAN I think that Russeldhino simply answered "why did you drop me Terry?" question - not with words but with the battling performance where he quite clearly had a Nick Ross remote control in his back pocket. And what would we be saying if that chip in the second half had been on target. FORAN I feel that his mere presence lifted the team and the support. Quiet but effective would be my summing up and he lasted longer than I thought he would. But saying that I lasted longer than I thought I would !! ERIC Well you cant knock two goals and non stop running. He will never be my cup of tea or win prizes for touch and skill but his mere pace - especiallly away from home on the break - will simply murder the teams in the bottom half. First goal was brilliantly tucked away - second was sclaffed but as against Jam tarts he had the pace to be in the right spot at the right time. ROONEY This may be harsh and I suspect my expectation levels are now high but he disappointed me a bit yesterday. I appreciate that he was a lone striker and he did that job well. He is looking stronger by the game and his hold up lay and passing has improved immensely - but he is a natural goal scorer and he needs to learn to be predator who could be lethal if he targetted getting into the mix in the opponents box on a far more regular manner. ROSS Central midfield - where did that performance feckin come from. He simply has to be kept there until the injuries clear themselves up. Some of this tackling and defensive thinking was a joy - although Daddy Duncan earned his baby sitting money. GIL and MORRISON - both really taken on to play out time and rest Foran and Eric. 14. Breaking news from the P&J website. The doom and gloom surrounding ICT was lifted last night with the announcement that fans' favourite Lionel Djebi-Zadi was to make a sensational and unexpected return to the club. The signing is expected to restore confidence in the club's shaky defence, and to boost the morale of fans and players, still reeling from Wednesday's 8-0 defeat to Celtic in the Co-op Funeral Services Cup. ICT has previous experience of bringing back club legends, including Barry Wilson and Dennis Wyness, but this move is sure to send even greater shockwaves through the home support. The rampaging Frenchman left ICT in May after almost single handedly leading the club back to the SPL. He had previously played a vital role in the club's SPL relegation season, being ever present towards the end, when the club failed to win any of its last 4 games. "I'm looking forward to my return to Inverness" said Djebi-Zadi last night. "And I think the fans see me as some kind of saviour. In fact, I frequently used to hear them shout 'Oh Jesus' from the stands. All I ask in return is that they make a little bit more effort when trying to pronounce Djebi-Zadi - it usually comes out as 'Fackeen-Pishmun', although I wonder if that is perhaps the Gaelic translation of my name. I love the Highland way of life - especially the fresh air, although Ross Tokely often asked why I would swipe at it so much". "I heard Wednesday's result just after I finished my shift at Disneyland Paris. I was naturally disappointed to hear how far the club had fallen without me, and to be honest it was no surprise when I got the call from Thierry Boucher the next day. It was a bit of a bad line, which made his voice sound very slurred, but I think he was very eager for me to come back and even used the words 'f***ing desperate'. I didn?t hesitate to say yes, despite my concerns about the security situation in Inverness - every time I walked down the street I would hear people shouting ?bombscare!? ?At first I wasn't sure if I could come back in time for the St Mirren game as I was scheduled to be 3rd reserve for Goofy in the parade, but my employers have been great and actually encouraged me to go immediately." But Djebi-Zadi concedes that there were occasional problems on the park last time around. "Yes, it was frustrating for me that my teammates just couldn't anticipate what I was about to do, and I was always a couple of steps ahead of them. I think it was because of my continental style of play. I remember once trying to explain to Grant Munro the concept of total football, but he just turned and ran off to intercept a through ball." Language was also a barrier to defensive understanding. "Sometimes Grant confused me by shouting ambiguous instructions like 'Get it away!' which I interpreted as an order to bring the ball down, get it under control, take a few touches, then dribble past a few opponents before passing the ball into the stand". But despite the tensions on the pitch, the relationship with Munro appears to have blossomed into a lasting friendship. "Sure, we kept in touch. I've spent the last few months training to be Mickey Mouse, and Grant says that if anyone can do that role, it's me. He tries to keep my spirits up, often just texting lots of laughing smilies". When Lionel is asked about his ambitions, they clearly go beyond saving ICT's season. "A lot of people seem shocked when I say this, but I still haven't been capped for France. I wrote to the Stade de France last month offering my services, as I heard they were struggling to put a team together. I was told to turn up at the stadium the night of the Belarus game, but there was clearly a misunderstanding, as I was put in the team of litter pickers. I did it serve my country, but pointed out the mistake. They apologised and I was told to come back to the stadium on the night they were playing Bosnia. Unfortunately this was another misunderstanding, as the game was actually an away fixture" he says sadly. "But I know that my return to ICT will be a stepping stone to greater things, and I have my sights set on the next European Championships in Brazil". Meanwhile, Terry Butcher is still in a state of shock after the 16-0 drubbing at Parkhead. "I know exactly what went wrong. Normally I study the fans? website forum to get my team selections and tactics. But this time Mo suggested that we if we are going to get anywhere in management, we should make our own decisions. I won?t be making that mistake again, no no no? he says, shaking his head mournfully. "It's not the result or the performance that hurts" he adds, "it's the reaction of the fans. In particular, I've lost the support of my mentor and inspiration, a tactical mastermind who guides me from his bedroom in Wick. I feel ashamed that he has had to go to the trouble of wiping his sticky monitor and keyboard to go ballistic at me online, and I could tell from the number of angry smilies that he was very very serious.? ?I considered quitting as a result, and drank 2 boxes of red wine before I noticed the fans on the forum clamouring for Lionel to come back, and I could see that he was the answer to all our problems. He was always one of the most talked about players ICT ever had, and as a footballer he does things I?ve never seen before in all my years. It?s not a panic signing, honest.? ICT fans spokesman Jonathan Mackenzie, 67, was preparing to travel north from Lancashire to Paisley when he heard the stunning news. ?It was one of those JFK moments? he said. ?I just couldn?t believe it was really happening. One thing?s for sure, the St Mirren game is going to be entertaining. Hopefully our opponents will be so busy trying to wind up Rossco that they won?t notice the gaping holes on the left. In fact, this weekend?s game could be so good that I might even consider staying for the 2nd half?.

  15. Good awayday and always great to stuff these soapdodgers after a visit to the Alamo. Didn't think we showed much fluency today though TBH. Pretty stodgy game, looked well in control at 2-0 but at 2-1 we just couldn't get out of the half. If we stopped punting it we looked as though we could murder them. 3 stonking goals though. Brilliant scenes as usual at the end. Ah well, no relegation worries after witnessing that lot, couldn't score in Dora's, that well known Edinburgh establishment of horizontal refreshment. Bye bye Midden.

  16. I don't know why anyone would be using the Niculae fee as a deterrant for contract negotiations. If it wasn't for the board making a complete hash of the sale we would be laughing all the way to the bank. The only way we can expect to push on in the SPL is by picking up bargains (Hayes, Odi & Rooney) and then having the faith to offer contracts that will see a return. After 20+ goals last season and a continuation into this season, Rooney will already have the eyes of other SPL clubs and Division 1 teams in England (who can more than match our wage structure), if he continues scoring it wont be long before the Championship teams have a look and that's where the money is.... that's why it's imperative that we hook up a 3 or at the very least 2 year contract.

  17. Sorry, going to be a miser here, IHE's posts and this one are akin to the The Onion and Daily Mash, i.e.spoofs, but I find it kind of annoying. once, maybe, twice, ok, but the forum is getting lots of these "stories" now - so much so I'm not sure if the real news is real anymore. While once, if someone posted a rumour, the mods would have moved it quicker than lightning, spoofs, seem to be exempt. For me, the increasing number of spoofs kind of damages the flow and integrity of the site. Just my own feeling and I may very well be alone in it!! You are more than welcome to your "fer **** sake mun, get a grip" and "lighten up" posts but it is just one opinion, on something trivial in itself...

  19. Does he not want to be here? Is it he or the Board that's being unreasonable? Does Butcher think the demands are excessive? Is there even a conflict or just a rumour? Seems overly negative with such little info. if he wants to leave then let him go we dont want players playing for us that dont want to be here and wont show 100% effort if we break the bank for him will other players will be unhappy as they will feel undervalued if he wants to stay and wants a reasonable wage let him stay

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner
