  1. Let's not get ahead of wereselves eh? Anything above 11th is a bonus, although I do think we have the potential to exceed that.

  2. So basically, with the benefit of highlights, slo-mo, and multiple viewings, none of us can agree on either decision .... and regardless of which viewpoint you have, both sides can make convincing arguments for yellows or reds for either player !!! Who'd be a ref !!!

  3. For me , Tokely was very lucky to stay on the park and looking at it in slow motion i'm not convinced he even got the ball. Doesn't really matter but with 'serious foul play' refs should take appropriate action if a players actions are deemed to put another at risk with reckless tackles etc. Also think the Dons lad was unlucky to be sent packing as it looked unintentional to me but feck it i'll take both decisions and the win ta very much.

  4. RiG, the rules of the game were altered (again) in reference to the "tackle from behind" about 5 years ago and the rulebook no longer makes any reference to it directly. Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct Fouls and misconduct are penalised as follows: Direct free kick A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: ? kicks or attempts to kick an opponent ? trips or attempts to trip an opponent ? jumps at an opponent ? charges an opponent ? strikes or attempts to strike an opponent ? pushes an opponent ? tackles an opponent A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following three offences: ? holds an opponent ? spits at an opponent ? handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area) A direct free kick is taken from the place where the offence occurred (see Law 13 ? Position of free kick). Penalty kick A penalty kick is awarded if any of the above ten offences is committed by a player inside his own penalty area, irrespective of the position of the ball, provided it is in play. Indirect free kick An indirect free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a goalkeeper, inside his own penalty area, commits any of the following four offences: ? controls the ball with his hands for more than six seconds before releasing it from his possession ? touches the ball again with his hands after he has released it from his possession and before it has touched another player ? touches the ball with his hands after it has been deliberately kicked to him by a team-mate ? touches the ball with his hands after he has received it directly from a throw-in taken by a team-mate An indirect free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if, in the opinion of the referee, a player: ? plays in a dangerous manner ? impedes the progress of an opponent ? prevents the goalkeeper from releasing the ball from his hands ? commits any other offence, not previously mentioned in Law 12, for which play is stopped to caution or send off a player The indirect free kick is taken from the place where the offence occurred (see Law 13 ? Position of free kick). Cautionable offences A player is cautioned and shown the yellow card if he commits any of the following seven offences: ? unsporting behaviour ? dissent by word or action ? persistent infringement of the Laws of the Game ? delaying the restart of play ? failure to respect the required distance when play is restarted with a corner kick, free kick or throw-in ? entering or re-entering the field of play without the referee?s permission ? deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee?s permission A substitute or substituted player is cautioned if he commits any of the following three offences: ? unsporting behaviour ? dissent by word or action ? delaying the restart of play Sending-off offences A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any of the following seven offences: ? serious foul play ? violent conduct ? spitting at an opponent or any other person ? denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within his own penalty area) ? denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player?s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick ? using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures ? receiving a second caution in the same match A player, substitute or substituted player who has been sent off must leave the vicinity of the field of play and the technical area. 5. As some users dont go to the main site to read the articles the editorial team have published, we have now created a new forum to help you notice when new stories are published on the main site ...... The "Newsfeed from Main Site" forum should show up as a sub forum of this one or - when new articles are published - as a topic entry in the 'new content' page. Added today - a hospitality offer for the school holidays valid for the St Johstone match next weekend See here:

  6. I dont blame him, hes been over here a few times, n IMHO it shows the club in a bad light. Its dragged on to long and again Niculae is more than likely as sick of it now as most of us... pay up, case closed end off.

  7. First ever post. If people are interested I will give updates on the u17s each week. Delighted to say that the under 17s drew 2-2 with Celtic today, and could/should have won. Scorers Ryan Watson and Ryan Christie. Celtic had 5 internationalists in their team and are virtually all full time. We had a squad of 12, with a sub keeper and no outfield subs due to injuries. Team went 1 down midway thru the first half but replied thru an excellent individual efort from Ryan Christie. Early in the second half Ryan Watson turn a defender and cooly slotted past the keepr. Celtic bounced back to equalise with a disputed offside goal(why dont we have linesmen at this level?) We had several chances to win the game but couldn't finish them off. Gone are the days we would try to keep the score down against the old firm. Great to see Terry at the game as well. The futures bright....

  12. A shame really. I'd have put my money on McGhee going first. Hughes tried his best at Hibs and had those in power not sold some good talent to line their own pockets things may have been different. Hibs have made a killing on a number of players brought through their system but there's no sign of investment in decent replacements and if that system doesn't change they wont have success with any manager.

  13. My prediction is 8th as we're playing well right now without a full strength squad, but it's still early days and much can change, things will become clearer in the next 4-7 games when teams have started playing each other again.

  14. did try to sing but landed up spending more time baiting scot leitch and paul hartley leitch was so close to getting sent to the stands it was getting seriously funny....plus the moment when some threatened to call childline and report him for shouting at the Kids to GET UP THEN was worth the entry fee alone quality sideline entertainment

  15. Having seen the highlights now, I think Tokely was lucky to stay on the pitch after that. He went in with studs showing and took the boy out, right under the refs nose. Whether or not there was malice in Paton's challenege I dont know, but he seemed to flick his boot back in towards Hayes after, when he could easily have just kept going. Another ref might have kept Paton on and Tokely off, but c'est la vie, I'm not complaining. Oh and Jonny meant that.

  17. dont know a time as yet. Caleyboy they are making progress. ICT 0 ST J 2 First game back in spl, only 13 players with 2 keepers. Man sent off after about 25 mins for handball on line, went down only to a late strike from ST J Motherwell 2 ICT 0 away to one of the better youth teams, ICT didnt get outplayed but failed to find the net and showed promise Rangers 2 ICT 0 away again to a team who reportedly had a player Rangers paid ?100,000 for. Not a lot of difference between the teams apart from luck and a late late won it for the home team at Murray Park ICT 1 Hibs 2 Home against a good Hibs youth, again holding their own but not having the luck infront of goal. Also suffering from a few players carrying knocks and coming back from injury. Hibs sharp infront of goal, but a goal from Chad with 10 mins to go but unfortunately they couldnt muster a leveler. Hearts 4 ICT 3 desperately unlucky not to pick up a point. Hearts had been the better team and lead 3-1, but an inspirational fightback brought the teams level for Hearts to score a very late winner. Encouraging signs, and now showing their scoring touch through Calum Dingwall, Adam MacLeod and Neil Erskine. Remember ICT are playing with just a couple of 18 year old, several 16s and two 15 year olds, so physically they are a year or so on average younger, and a year less of full time training. They have some very talented players, and with injuries, suspensions and international call ups have been thread bare for some games. Liam Polworth has been on international duty, Kyle White too and came back injured, sent off player suspended, and Adam MacLeod coming back from a bad ankle ligament injury. The team is starting to make progress, and the next two games are against the two best teams in the league, Aberdeen and Celtic - both unbeaten and scoring goals for fun, but then they have 4 out of 5 games against teams in the bottom 6. A win will not be far away and then the confidence will grow, and Keith's Under 19s may help that progress. It will also be their first ever game at the TCS against Keith

  20. Strongly disagree. It makes no difference if you get the ball or not, it can still be a foul and a red card. You can't challenge like that anymore. Strongly agree. There is a clear kicking motion into Hayes midriff whilst he is on the ground. There may not be a stamp but you cannot kick players and expect to get away with it. A fully warranted red card. Hopefully the SPL / SFA or whoever it is laugh out the appeal.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner
