  1. Though I'm sure nobody will admit to it at the moment, his club's chairman has to be starting to get a wee bit worried about the manager's state of mind and some of the things he is saying. I know I would. I do not think his job is in danger presently but surely his old man or Roy MacGregor need to take him to one side and calm him down. He really is spouting nonsense. Two offside goals? No. He should think about how many minutes his team has led against us in three games this season. The answer is just one

  2. I honestly despair at the comments of the “voices of reason” on here. You guys must have been an absolute barrel of laughs in your youth. The smoke bomb (not a flare) was completely harmless and added a bit of colour to proceedings at Dingwall. I can assure you we got up to a lot worse back in the good old/bad old days of the eighties and early nineties If you’ve ever watched football on the continent you will no doubt have been impressed by the pyrotechnics and general mayhem that goes on inside the stadiums. Regardless of what clubs and the authorities say it’s instrumental in making football the great spectacle it is. The Northern Constabulary are using a totally harmless incident to justify over zealous policing of home fans who are probably the most meek and mild support in Scottish football. Let’s face it they collectively sh!t their pants when the old firm are in town and let them run riot inside and outside the stadium. The young lads in Section E are quite simply an easy target for them in comparison. So endeth the rant.... Old Heads Contre le Foot Moderne.

  4. Another new account here, however most likely a different view than others (older wiser head quite possibly). First and foremost, like many others have said reap what you sow. Now I am not that active on twitter, however it was easy to see on the lead up to the game at County that #SMOKEBOMBS were going to be used. First tip, if you want to get away with it don't brag about it on networks as easy accessible as the likes of twitter it will only come back to bite you on the arse as it has showed now. Some of those on here who are complaining about the actions taken have put photos up of the incident. Think lads, just think. Maybe the police did go over the top, however 7 officers in the grand scheme of things is not a large amount, filming yes a step too far however as someone has previously said this can't come directly from the club, they cannot make that decision. Caley are a family club and want to protect that reputation it generates more fans which in turn generates more income. Anyone seen to damage it will be sought out unfortunately. Easier for them to ban one or two 'troublesome' fans and gain positive publicity than losing a family of supporters. Every team has more boisterous fans, and almost every fan will do something in the safety of numbers that he/she wouldn't do in the street. It is the mob mentality and it has happened for many many years and will continue to happen (I myself have had a ban imposed on me that stopped me from following Scotland internationally). However you need to know at Caley you will be caught out, I see someone mentioned Celtic last night against Arbroath, when teams like this let them off they stick together and it is near impossible to tell just who has let it off and who is holding it. It's not worth the Police or Stewards time to go in and trying to find the main perpatrator. Obviously Caley don't have this, which is why IMO it was thrown on to the pitch against County because whoever let it off knew they would be caught within seconds. Now those who stand in Section E/G wherever, this isn't me having a go at you. I speak to a few of you and you do seem a good bunch, all be it a few who can't handle their drink but again you get those in all supports. Support the side, by having a good laugh not spending the night in a cell and having an expensive court case to pay out for.

  5. Oh yes it does. And as it is pantomime season I would like to put in a "plug" for Cinderella that is being shown at the Porthmahomack Palace at starring Laurence and Dougal.

  8. I thought it was laughable when the police started filming. They must think they're dealing with the ICF! It's even more laughable hearing folk defending the police actions! There is no justification for the heavy handedness shown towards the young ones who do their best to generate a bit of atmosphere at the games. So what if a smoke bomb was thrown at Dingwall. It was completely harmless, and caused no damage. And the 'idiot' on the pitch? Well, equalising with the last kick of the ball against your rivals in the cup might just be reason enough for those actions. Again, no harm done. I don't remember the same condemnations directed at the many hundreds who invaded the pitch a couple of times at Ayr a few years ago.

  9. It's not VP any longer so let's not call it that. The shadows are quick enough to slag us off about selling out 18 years ago so let's just remember they've just franchised their stadium!

  10. Their sleepy wee forum's fair getting a boost with all you guys in the past fortnight....... To be fair I had a look myself and most of them accept they've got a limited squad and doing OK considering, but one or two roasters eh. Every ref and linesman in Scotland's got it in for their multi-talented squad and plotting to stop them winning a clean sweep this season. They don't hate us much though.

  11. Excellent work and good to see that Scotland's top whistler Craig Thomson really did cheat C(o)unty at the penalty while wearing his ICT shirt under his ref's top (insert 'sarcasm' smiley in case Oddquine is about). Sheesh......

  13. I never take flares to a game. In fact I don't wear flares at all. Soooooooooo 1970's man. I don't mind being filmed. In fact I've even starred in a few low budget movies in the past. In one I had to go and fix this photocopier as these 2 secretaries in very short skirts were working late...

  14. Totally agree Chris, all the stuff with Vigurs was banter. He celebrates in front of us and gets dogs abuse. I celebrate in front of him at the end and get a bit of abuse back, all fair game I think.

  17. A couple were Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve and the whole place was heaving, packed with other last minute shoppers. Walking through the shopping centre the surprised wife looked up from a window display and noticed her husband was nowhere to be seen. She knew they had lots still to do and she became very upset. She rummaged in her handbag and found her mobile phoned then used it to call her husband to ask him where he was. The husband in a calm voice replied: "Darling, you remember the jewellery shop we went into five years ago, where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we could not afford and I told you that one day I would get it for you...?" His wife's eyes filled with tears of emotion, she began to cry softly and stifling a sob she whispered: "Yes, I remember that jewellery shop..." "Well," he said, "I'm in the pub next door!" .......

  18. Vigurs goal is superb, but I don't think he did himself any favors with the celebration. I did notice he was pointing to his name as he strode back for the re start too. To read that he'd also gestured to a fan at full time too is a disgrace. He's become some what of a Dougie Imrie character for me - All that talent, but his attitude, ego and arrogance let him down

  19. For once I agree with Dougal, particularly with his final sentence. Once people get a reputation, it's very hard to have it eradicated and for people to change their minds. Personally, I thought the majority of times Section E (formally Section G) were chastised, it was uncalled for and heavy handed. There were, however, times that it was necessary and justified. The smoke bomb at Victoria Park may not have been ANY of the Section E crowd. But with the bad reputation they'd gained, particularly in the Mike Smith era, there is really only going to be one group in the whole stadium that's going to be watched more closely than any other. Banner for the original fixture - Fantastic idea and appreciated by every single ICT fan (and no doubt the club too) Smoke bomb for the original fixture - Not so much a good idea, and one that has brought about the 'bad' tag for certain sections of the support, regardless of if it was them

  20. Well I am on ma way home on the train. As far as I am concerned the better team won and we are in the next round. In the first half, until Vigurs scored as good a goal as you can get - as in the first game - we were a class above and if we had hit a second we could have waltzed it. County were really up fer it and showed that they had far more to prove than we did. The conditions favoured the underdog and affected our footballing prowess. Some of our players had an off day but - feck me - at the end of the day it is all about who scores the most goals - and we feckin did. That was County - in the second half - at 150% and us playing at 70-80% - so what does that tell ya. Plus we would have capitulated before and despite putting on an apparent remake of the Alamo - it was more like feckin Bannockburn. And we played the same starting eleven again and we kept our winning run going. It will be a different story when we feck them on 02/01/2013.

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
