  1. Talks are at an advanced stage to keep extend Deans loan stay until summer next year. Full story here: http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/ICT-look-to-extend-Brills-stay-16092013.htm Great news and given how well he has done i'm not surprised we are looking to extend the deal. He has been a commanding and reassuring presence at the back and has clearly given our back 4 a strong platform to build from.

  2. Deary me, if people aren't going because they might hear words that haven't been verified as acceptable by their local church minister, then they probably shouldn't be allowed out of the house unaccompanied!

  3. Indeed, a lot of points still to play for, let's celebrate at the end of the season! No, no. We'll just collect the Manager of the season at the end of the season instead! As for the comments about the central belt "meeja" let's not worry about that - quite happy to see us fly a little under the radar, even while we're the highest flying team in the country. Let them all continue to think it's all a bit of a novelty. In the meantime we'll just keep racking up point after point after... (sshhhhh!! )

  4. Phil MacGiollaBháin has again hit the nail on the head regarding journalism and a certain football team in Scotland after Spence Gate. If you haven't read Phils book 'Downfall' I recommend it. http://www.newsnetscotland.com/index.php/scottish-opinion/8033-the-attacks-on-jim-spence-are-an-attack-on-democracy

  6. Maybe I wasn't being completely fair there.I should have perhaps emphasised more that they go to Westminster and generally vote for the policies of the political parties which funded their passage to the green benches....so they work in Westminster for the UK and for those constituents who voted for them. I am sure, however, that they do the the best they can for individual constituents whoever they voted or didn't vote for...but being in Westminster, even as an integral part of the Government does not give them the ability to over-rule policies with which they don't agree..or promote policies they'd like to see. The Secretary of State for Scotland is the Government's mouthpiece in Scotland and is meant to ensure that the UK Cabinet and others involved are fully aware of Scottish needs and circumstances.....which hasn't worked that well when you consider that the majority of Scottish MPs opposed various UK bills from the Poll tax to the Bedroom Tax and many in between, but we got them anyway. I don't so much mind the party political aspect...as it always flags up the mindset of the candidate.....but I do think that there should be no whip system. Imo, if a political party in power can't convince their own members of the benefit of the bill they are placing before the House, they should not be forced to back it.. I came to that conclusion re the usefulness of party politics as a flag to attitude in the days when proud Tories, dunted when Grampian Regional Council died, resurrected themselves as Independents to stand for The Moray Council..and still do to this day. I'm not so sure about that...there will quite possibly be Scots who would prefer to be in the rUK military.if it continues to be run as it is now...as it will undoubtedly offer more excitement and travel than a Scottish Defence Force..but I suspect that there will be a separate Scottish military.......which is not to say that there may not be mutual co-operation once tempers after the divorce have cooled...but I am not inclined to think so as long as the rUK keeps Trident. I also think that there will be an SBC.....though we'd probably still manage to get the BBC with the right equipment as they do in Europe. But I suppose that will depend on the negotiations after the vote if it is yes. Economics will always be far from clear. Different economic theories applied to the same set of figures will generally produce as many results as there are economists interpreting them. All of them will be possible....but none will be guaranteed...not the ones to be produced by the SNP shortly......or those produced by UK Governments.or individual UK parties in the run up to September 2014.. They can't be....because they are all based on estimates extrapolated from the newest set of accurate figures, however old those may be...and in the case of the Scottish Government,..from an assumption that Scotland will get, as under International Law,, the geographical share of oil revenues.and an extrapolation as to the worth of that going forward...and the assumption that negotiations re the division of UK assets and UK debts will be fair and equitable. To me, it isn't the economic policy and the tax take etc, which is important, as that is unknowable until you start to take it.....it is the policies that tax take is going to be used to implement......and a comprehensive acceptable Written Constitution. Way I look at it is that the Scottish Government has done no bad with what they had to disburse to ameliorate the effect of the policies of a UK Government on Scotland......and with the best will in the world, I can't see them producing what will be tantamount to their manifesto for 2016 by plucking figures out of the air or promising more than they believe they can deliver. We already know pretty much what the policies for 2015 are for both the Tories and Labour..more of the same kind as we have had since 2010. We take a leap of faith every election when we vote in our MPs and MSPs , and that doesn't always work out as we might have liked.....but when we vote for a Government in Westminster, we know two things for sure...they are only there for five years.....and if the economic forecasts on which they based their policies go wrong, they have the fiscal tools to readjust their tax take and change outcomes. In an Independent Scotland, we will have the same ability.....all it takes is that leap of faith to believe that we are a competent population able to govern ourselves, I could live with a federal system, in which Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland together could outvote England.......and England would therefore be obliged to carry at least one other country's representatives to take us to war, keep Trident etc.......but that has never been on offer even in 1707 when Scotland tried for the 1707 equivalent.,,though we did get to keep our Laws, religion and Education system as a sop for "ceasing to exist as a nation". Devo-max would have been a sensible addition to the referendum..if only because Westminster didn't want it, and Salmond didn't dig in his heels to get it ...not that I'd have voted for it, myself, but I did think that a referendum so important should offer a middle of the road option as well as the two extremes..if only because it would have, imo, ensured the continuation of the Union for those who are wedded to it as an identity, but like the idea of being "different".....and a halfway house for those who would like Independence, but are, to put it bluntly "feart" and need to be convinced that Scottish politicians can be as competent in Scotland as they have been a lot of the time in the UK. Devo-max may well have been the end of the journey if it had been available.......kinda the best of both worlds for most....but we have been forced into the situation that we are obliged to choose the Union or Independence..nothing in between........and I suspect that a NO vote will not stick for the three generations the NO camp appears to think..but will become a neverendum.or even, given the need to get UK permission for referenda....a unilateral declaration of independence in the future. Exciting times!

  9. After the Mckay goal you can see me jumping about like a mad idiot. I haven't seen that footage where did you get that? I was wondering how long it will be until you get some jumped up steward trying to take your phone / camera off you when you are filming the game.

  10. Very good video. Thanks for the pie-shot. Interested to see what will unfold in this series as the season continues. The scripting worked a treat, as did the new teknoligy. I think some info on the stadium/stewards/facilities/match day experience/ticket price/ food stop/ would maybe be of wide appeal, to me at least, to know which grounds are good value, but just my yuppence worth, thanks for the vid.

  11. I'm going to be bold and suggest Spartans, Auchinleck, Berwick R, Cove, Annan A, Montrose, The Rose, Shire, Edinburgh C, Formartine, Gala F, Elgin, Coulter, Queens Park, Stirling A, Wick. For each one I get wrong I'll pledge £5 to ICT Youth. So anyone else up for a bit of fun then. Money where your mouth is and all that.

  12. But Westminster wasn't run for us.or even to benefit us, starchief....so the fact that For most of those years since 1999, Westminster was run by "us" and directly accountable to the Scottish people at election time. has meant nothing because the MPs who were not SNP were not working in Westminster for Scotland, they were working in Westminster for their parties and the UK Parliament....if it helped or satisfied the majority of their constituents, that was a bonus.....but not their focus. If they had been representing Scotland and their constituents only after devolution, they would not have been voting on issues which had been devolved to Scotland and which would not affect Scotland at all.....like the student university fees one which produced so much animosity against Scotland because of their actions. Don't disagree overmuch with your second paragraph.......but independence won't be remotely devo-max, given that we won't be subject to the UK foreign policies and won't have to host Trident. I rather think in the fullness of time, we will also go for our own currency and all that entails.but continuing with sterling is the sensible decision in the short/medium term at least. Have to say I've never considered that devo-max was a description of the politics in a country choosing to use the currency of another country as their main unit of exchange. Wonder if all those countries which use the UK dollar know they are not independent. Would that mean that the British Dependencies, the British Virgin Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands are really American if currency sharing is devo-max? Re Especially when it comes to economics, which is far from clear, a debate tonight on Radio5live had a fifteen year old saying what all of us pro-independence supporters have been saying from the beginning..that, going forward, we are no clearer about the economics of the UK than we can be about those of Scotland. All economic policies are based on a best case scenario with fingers and toes firmly crossed....as illustrated by the Coalition's failures requiring U-turns. In the next few months, the SNP will produce papers setting out their vision for Scotland going forward as an independent country, as I believe NuLabour and the Tories intend to do for Scotland within the Union....but in the end, any economic forecasts are as accurate and as varied as polls generally turn out to be. 14. Perhaps there are people who would like to come along anyway but find it too daunting, where do I go? how do I pay? will I find our seats ok? will there be any trouble? is there any food available? Answer Decide where you want to sit, Family section in the smaller stand nearest the bridge, or behind the goals is the same stand, or the main stand along side the pitch which is nearest the road. You can pay cash at a turnstile, phone up the ticket office and buy your tickets for the game or buy a season ticket book which gives you free entry for the remainder of the season. The ticket that you bought will tell you the name of the stand the block of seats you sit in which row you are in then the seat number, a steward will kindly help you find your seat. ICT is a family friendly club which doesn't tolerate trouble makers which you may find at larger clubs Food is served before and all throughout the match with a selection of pies, hot dogs and hamburgers sweets, crisps and drinks. you may even like an alcoholic drink before or after the match in the bar but not during the game. A extra couple of pointers, You may find yourself trying to kicking an imaginary ball during the game, a compelling urge to join in with the other fans cheering on the team, you may find it difficult to sit down when we score a goal, you might enjoy chatting to the people next to you, you may end up speaking to people you haven't seen in ages, you might go home enjoying your day out at a football match and wonder why you didn't try it before.

  15. Reducing ticket prices helps to boost turn out but reduces income. Do the extra fans justify the outlay. Maybe it just needs to be the right target audience. Lets be honest if a ST holder could bring a friend along for £5, I would imagine there are some amongst us who would exploit that and someone who would turn up anyway gets in for a fiver via a pal. With a reduced ticket offer do you. A, get an ICT fan in on the cheap. B, invite a friend who cant afford to go normally. C, coax the same person as last time. D, invite someone different in the hope they become regulars.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

    • Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.
