  1. Things started well with a delightful goal after absorbing some early pressure. Then it all went pear shaped. There is no disputing that Aberdeen were the better side and we were generally below par, but it really is sad to see a side resort to the level of gamesmanship that Aberdeen did today. Of course, teams can only get away with it if the officials let them - and boy did they let them today. I don't usually like to criticise referees because they have a very difficult job to do and have to make difficult decisions in a split second. Clearly they will get things wrong at times. But there really can be no excuses for Clancy today. Apart from his failure to stop Aberdeen's antics, he made the most appalling decisions in relation to two episodes in the 2nd half. In the first of these, Maddison was dispossessed deep in our half. He went down and stayed down. In fact it looked as if he was praying to Mecca. We broke forward with some of our best play of the game. We were heading towards the edge of their box with Aberdeen struggling to cover when Clancy decides to stop the game for Maddison. But although he stopped the game, he didn't call the Aberdeen Physio on. Maddison didn't need any treatment and soon trotted off without any sign of being hurt. If Clancy wasn't going to call the physio on to treat Maddison there was absolutely no reason to stop the game. Just a few minutes later, just inside our own half, Shinnie hacked down Mackay and Clancy didn't even give a foul. He waved play on and then actually ran past a clearly distressed Mackay to keep up with the play. Fortunately Aberdeen's attack came to nothing. OFW then kicked the ball out of play before Clancy took notice of our injured player. Unlike the cheating Maddison, Mackay didn't get up and trot off. Instead he had to be stretchered off. These two incidents are not simple mistakes, instead they represent utter incompetence. It is easy to to fault the players when they have a bit of an off day, but it can't be easy playing when you have such incompetent refereeing. Yes, we were 2nd best today, but it might have been a very different game with a different referee. Rant over

  2. Naw, whit pisses me off is that people think the boys go out there to play badly? We got beaten by a better team. Simple. It's no wonder they were off their game, I was getting frustrated in the stands, I can only imagine how they were feeling, out their on the park, getting mugged off by sheep and officials alike. a bit of an over-reaction- since our shocking start we've lost to Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen....I'm not all that fussed about that tbh! Those are the games you'd look at and say, "well, a draw would be nice but I'm not expecting much..." and well, "firmly rooted to the bottom of the table" will still only be probably 3 points off 6th place :) everyone needs to just chill the fff out!

  4. Think Tansey answered a few critics today without even playing. We pretty much bypassed our midfield today constantly lofting long balls towards Doumbouya. Reason being we missed Tansey's composure in the middle of the park and his ability to pick a pass?

  5. See this kinda thing really pisses me off, it's one thing if were getting beaten trying but why do we need to underperform in so many games. It's not like we CANT do it, we've shown we can.. So what's the problem? Too much time off, too much nights out on the ****, no desire to progress? If we're not careful we'll be firmly rooted to the bottom by Christmas A Bit harsh. Players don't deliberately go out to play badly. Some players had an off day yesterday and, on the day, Aberdeen were the better team when it mattered, albeit aided and abetted by a very poor referee. On the subject of the referees, they seem to be getting progressively worse, certainly at the home games this season and do appear to have it in for ICT. Hope I am wrong but key decisions are clearly not being given to ICT or we are being treated differently from the opposing team. It does also appear that referees have stopped penalising defenders who blatantly foul forwards by holding them, pushing them and climbing all over them.

  6. Thanks for the replies. No surprise she went to the High School. Does she write much about Inverness?

  7. Williams was decent, but the one in the first half near half time was going a foot wide despite him diving full length to tip it for a corner. Save in second half was brilliant. I'm not big on criticising referees, but here's the opening paragraph from our match report. Aberdeen won convincingly 1-3 with Kevin Clancy instrumental in the first two Dons goals. He was probably man of the match as the Dons won for the first time in five attempts. Lonsana Doumbouya glanced a wonderful opener for Inverness but after that it was Aberdeen that took full advantage of Clancy's assistance. A dubious free kick saw McLean level the scores and after another accidental clash, Clancy saw fit to award a spot kick which Rooney gratefully accepted to slot home. Clancy continued to control the flow of the game as the Aberdeen players threw themselves to the ground at will and it was no surprise (or maybe it was) when Maddison was eventually booked for simulation. They added a third deep into the game when they broke swiftly and McLean completed the scoring. One more assist from Clancy and he would have kept the match ball. Unbelievable Jeff! just to add....... Official ICTFC ‏@ICTFC 6m6 minutes ago For those asking about Brad. Initial indications are nothing broken. We'll know more when it's settled a bit and reassessed at start of week

  8. I don't normally respond when the OP is so clearly on the wind up.....but here's a couple of links that immediately dispel the nonsense being talked.... http://ictfc.com/community/community-news2/1809-ictfc-reach-their-heart-healthy-goal http://ictfc.com/community/community-news2/1814-community-cup-visits Also...over 4000 kids took advantage of free tickets last season. This was in addition to those taking up the free U12 ticket offer. As ICTFC have now extended the Free U12 Ticket offer to match tickets as well as season tickets then, if your kid is of that age, you can get a free ticket for them any time you like.

  9. I may be a mere woman but my three boys all attend ICT games and hell would have frozen over before Id have taken them to any County game except a derby! Oh and I think the club did offer to take the scottish cup to Dingwall and Invergordon schools.

  10. Some of the comments here are a bit harsh, but I think it is fair to say that he is not as influential as he has been in the past. That could of course be due in part to the new manager wanting him to play in a certain way.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.
