  2. Well said. if we won the league, the Scottish Cup and the League Cup there would still be people who would find something to moan about. CMON INVERNESS.

  3. This is a thread to discuss our most important match in years not misinformation about travel arrangements. Can we stick to doing just that please. We have won at Tannadice very recently and there's no reason why we can't do so again. All the pressure will be on United and very little expectation of us especially from the neutrals. We can do this.

  4. Any thoughts on starting team, formation, who for subs... whatever the line up I think they should go out and enjoy the game and have a right go. The team are capable and have enough skill, resilience and determination to produce a result. Calls for cool heads and strong hearts. ??

  5. What he said was entirely inaccurate. And money or lack of it had absolutely nothing to do with it. And I don’t think it is silly to defend against a post that is incorrect.

  6. it's not that D & E won't give another bus. they have bent over backwards to help out. Their drivers are fully booked on Saturday and as we would be late back on Saturday they simply can't provide a driver. They are providing a 61 seater. We are disappointed we can't take more fans down. However it makes a pleasant change for us to have a full bus. And we look forward to more bookings for the final and for next season when we visit Aberdeen, Glasgow Motherwell etc.

  8. I agree with you regarding Macdonald and I've been encouraged by the bits I've seen of him, I do believe he brings a bit more directness to the team however that's where my agreement ends. This is not a game we want Robbo's hand twisted in to have no alternatives and we need our best players available especially given who we have out. We need the likes of Walsh, Welsh and Polly available and the use of the bench and effectiveness this season highlights this need. For me Polly is one of these players that you truly don't know what he brings to the team until he isn't there and my fear on Friday is exactly that. He doesn't get the plaudits he deserves and is an easy target for people to point the finger at. I really hope I am proved wrong and hopefully in a good way we don't miss him. I'm not sure what more White has to do either to prove his worth and a lot of ICT fans are very fickle in their outlook, he's our top scorer and brings a lot to the team. He's struggled not having an effective partner up front who can run off him which will hopefully change next season but don't forget he's still young, learning and has drastically improved this season and imo will get better. I'd rather him as an improving player already scoring goals than Austin who's not improving and not scoring goals.

  9. Your view of a footballer certainly differs from mine Polworth and White are very good footballers and the fact that teams like Motherwell are signing Polly is evidence to this. White has been top scorer with us and also been top scorer with other clubs he has been with, he also can link up play on the deck as well as be good in the air. i certainly would much rather Polworth was in the team than out of it. Can’t understand the criticism that Liam takes at times when he has been very good for the club.

  10. So on the eve of our biggest and potentially last game of the season, who's all going and who's all watching on tv/listening on the radio? I am travelling down to Edinburgh after work tomorrow so might just stop off for a rest in Dundee on my way down, it would be the first ICT game I've been to without Caleyjag. It's all or nothing to be honest and I fully expect Robbo to have the boys firmly fired up and ready to go, I'm trying to temper my excitement as it often leads to disappointment but I truly believe we can take the game to Utd and come away with a result. Would love to stick it up to everyone that doesn't believe or doesn't want us to win.

  12. Maybe some of those travelling from Inverness by car who have spare seats could volunteer to take some of those who have been too late to get a seat on the bus.

  13. Yeah, I do apologise. Probably not the right wording, but it's word of mouth of my mate. I was told by him it was due to D&E not giving another bus, not that there's no drivers.

  17. We don't need a big budget to get fans of their arses and get behind the side. If the official attendance is correct, then 2604 fans. 1050 of them were away fans so that leaves 1554 home fans. What does this city want ffs. They obviously don't want a football club to be playing at the top level. That's one of the reasons we are in financial trouble, the general apathy of Inverness. It's bloody depressing.

  18. What about an Americanisation with a deep meaning - Kingsmill Inferno ?

  19. Haha that's the major downfall of this forum and why so many apart from the same tired old names appear on every thread, it's just a clique for happy clappers. Disagree or have an alternative opinion and your ostracised. Gotta agree with everything and stay in with the old whingers. Kingsmills as for you I don't care how courteous u think u are, your always quick to jump on anyone that has an alternate opinion to yours as wrong, maybe for once realise that others opinions are up for debate but are not always wrong because you don't agree.

  21. One coach, really? Sounds poor. Disappointing if it's true as I'm sure there would be been demand for more. It'll be the motor for me , touch and go time wise as the A9 isn't much fun on Friday evening's after work.

  22. As much as it potentially a red, I'm actually excited now at the prospect of Robbo now having no choice but to start Macdonald on Friday. I know polworth has had his moments over the years, but the jury's still very much out as to his effectiveness pace passing and reading of the game. The short spells we've seen of Macdonald I think hes been superb and creates movements and injects a bit of pace into an otherwise static mf at times. This is our last chance and as much as we were very unlucky not to get a goal or 2 before DU on Tuesday we still don't have no route to goal on the ground and the only time we seem to threaten is with a set piece or a shot to nothing coming off. It's so unfortunate that as it stands we've lost what I have considered to be our best mf pairing over the season, Welsh and Walsh and still have no real goal threat. White as much as he got the 2 headers was very slow to react to movement from Doran but perhaps that's just his character not sure u can teach that, its a killer instinct. I'm really excited for tomorrow night and really think after Tuesday that we can steal something from this but it's going to mean more than our strikers getting on the end of the ball.

  25. I don’t think he did moan about it to be honest. He only said he couldn’t go and gave information about Inverness not being able to afford another bus, he also said it was someone else’s info. This might not be entirely accurate but I’m sure there is more than one bus company in Scotland, maybe money had a little bit to do with not getting another bus. Not really a big deal but the defensiveness of it is a bit silly.

  26. Is there going to be more buses to United? Seen by a mate on Twitter that D&E won't give another bus. Rubbish if true, especially considering it's such a big game...

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
