  1. I miss Gregor. Maybe if the soapdodgers release big Jordan he can make a comeback.

  2. Now that we know the makeup of the 2023/24 Scottish Championship, I think we can agree, what was already known, that last season was one of our best chances to get promoted back to the Premier league. The lineup from last season certainly gave us a fighting chance, but one that failed to reach the predictions of a lot of posters on this forum, me included. Not only did we fail to make the playoffs, it was the style of play that was disappointing, I really can't remember being really excited and entertained by many games, probably only the Scottish Cup win against Kilmarnock being the exception, as I only attended home matches. As we now look to the next season, it makes me wonder how we are going to fair with the likes of Dundee United, Dunfermline, Partick, Ayr, Queens Park and Morton, all going well, and a lot of them have had money pumped into them, and all of them have the luxury, in football recruiting terms, of being in the right place to pick up new players. Then add in Airdrie, Arbroath and Raith, and the league does look a lot harder to win next season. My hope now, that it looks like we are going to lose some of our best players for nothing, is that our younger players from our youth set up can step up and stake places in the first team. It's time to get back to a settled squad, instead of continually having to rebuild every season. It wasn't always like this, when we had the likes of the Shinnies, Warren, Draper, Raven, Meekings and Foran, we had a settled team with one or two added every season, now, it seems like a major overhaul every year. It would also be good if we could sell a player now and again, instead of letting our best talent leave for nothing. Our hope now is for an injury free season, with the likes of Macgregor, Harper, Hyde, Nicolson and others, consolidating a first team berth, and if they impress, and are sought by other teams, we get a fee for them. Let's be a selling team, if we have to, and not a 'leaving for nothing team', that we have been for several seasons.

  3. Agreed r.e.The Celtic fans. I left the ferry about half 3 and caught the back of police accompanied march to the ground. But they were all great with me shaking my hand and wishing me a great day out. They asked if I was confident and I said no but they were all like it’s a one off. Spoke with a very friendly guy on the train from mt florida after. I had a great day and nearly went over some seats when Dan’s header hit the net. I had no expectation and that made it more enjoyable and the euphoria if we had won ever higher. We won just being there and I am glad I was there. I think the tactics were fine - against a side that can rip teams to shreds we needed to stay in it for as long as possible. I knew we weren’t going to get lots of chances but I felt we lacked a little belief to really go at them as they could be got at with carter vickers. But can’t fault the effort of the team and being near to the front next to the singing section was a brilliant atmosphere. Even in defeat I loved the whole day and hope we experience this again in future

  4. Maybe it’s just me but CTO seems extremely quiet? This could well be down to the way ICT are playing presently I guess and the lack of direction from the board or indeed the silence from the Supporters trust or a combination of all three. Have ICT fans left CTO for Pie and Bovril I sincerely hope this is not the case I used to enjoy P&B but now it seems to have attracted the moronic fringe of our support. You would be lucky to scrape a brain cell if you merged SandyCromarty and Sophia there really is wiser eating grass! Im thinking of some of the great posters of yore that you dont see anymore, yer Scarlet Pimple, Dalneigh Caley, sneckboy, top six etc even CaleyD Thats only a few I can think of off the top of my head but feel free to add any names you would like to see post again there will be a large number I reckon. We need them back!! Best wishes and a happy new year to all or most ICT fans out there from myself Dougal

  5. It’s up to the Management and recruitment team now to find the next Deas, or Warren or Meekings or whatever is required. I’m hopeful we can find another set of gems.

  6. When Walsh was on the podcast a couple of months ago, the setbacks and lack of progress after a year was all very disheartening, it left me thinking that his career was over. Hopefully it’s not, but it didn’t sound like he’ll be able to even start light training any time soon.

  7. F*** sake Deas, Kilmarnock !! more of side step than a forward step I think. Been outstanding for us, could have done a lot better.

  9. If he goes it will be to one of our championship competitors. Despite all the talk of how we had a title challenging team at the start of the season it speaks volumes that many of our out of contract players could easily be retained - I don't think any have generated serious interest from a higher level. A few will have seen what happened to MacAleer , Chalmers and pundit in training Scott Allan after successful spells with us. Grass is greener... On a positive note it may be worth tying up some of our younger players on 3 year deals as next year will be a definitive year for them and we don't want to be losing them for buttons.

  12. You have been taking the P155 bdu I think that all that were there enjoyed the day at Hampden apart from not getting the result we were dreaming of. I hope you were there as well and also enjoyed the day/night out and will come back again next season and keep supporting Inverness Caledonian Thistle as we need all the support we can get

  13. Anyway it’s in the past. Each to their own! I can recommend a good therapist for bdu!! The group I was with had a great weekend in Glasgow. It would have been great to win but the guys performed well and can hold their heads very high.

  15. Yup, in the grand scheme of things, not having to pay off 3 or 4 months wages for the manager has absolutely saved us. A feckin masterstroke on the part of the CEO and Board. Knighthoods all round.

  17. We definitely need a big target man like Shane to partner Billy (if he signs). If that wasn't obvious before, it was certainly obvious yesterday. Not to use the route 1 as a default but just to mix it up as we're pretty predictable a lot of the time. The sort of job that Brian Graham has done over the years, especially with us on the receiving end. Never been a big Dodds fan either, I think he would be a better coach than a manager, but stability at a club is half the battle, so I'm just about resigned to it, on the 'be careful what you wish for' principle - if it's true that he has a happy dressing room that's a major plus. Also it winds up the Dees. It's often been said that it's a bigger priority to get a clearout at the top. Never met the CEO but don't have good vibes. Heard wee whispers that Robbo will be away.

  19. I’ll certainly take more of the same, 45 minutes away from the Premier League against St Johnstone and this season 3 points off second place with a cup final at Hampden. We got a bit unlucky this season and there’s certainly room for improvement but we aren’t as bad as we’re made out. I don’t really get why some of our fans have the old firm mentality where we should be outright winning this league.

  20. Glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed that moment - I'm not usually one to condone violence, and I was a bit worried that the ICT fan would end up getting arrested, but the steward dealt with it well in the end. I shook the man who shoved him's hand when he sat back down.

  21. What an utter bellend that Celtic fan was, suddenly becoming billy big balls because Celtic were about to beat a mid table Championship side. Stewards were too slow to deal with it, it took the female ones to go in and drag him out. I don’t condone violence but perhaps the 2nd best moment of the day was when one of our fans punched him, he was really asking for it and actually got off lightly.

  22. I make no apologies for this post. You should be really ashamed of yourself. When Celtic scored their third, a numpty a few rows in front of me celebrated. That provoked an angry reaction from our fans with kids caught up in the ensuing scenes before a Steward ejected the numpty. He was punched by one of our fans and credit to the female steward who stopped a brawl resulting. Goodness knows what that could have led to. I don’t know if the idiot involved had a ticket you wrongly sold on or not, but it wrecked a big day for many youngsters and you really need to grow up and realise your actions have consequences. Rant over but I hope you know your head should be hanging in shame.

  23. Proud of all 16 who played today. We all feared a beating but to be only 2-1 down going into stoppage time must have exceeded all our expectations. Celtic are a class or two above us in terms of skill, pace and performance, but we did better than many top league teams have done against them. I think the formation was right and we hoped to keep them out for as long as possible and catch them on the break. It wasn’t to be, but it would have been a surprise to us all if we had won. I thought anything better than 4-0 would be good and we did a damn sight better than that. A shout out for the singing section and our fans overall: you also did us proud. A good day out, despite the result, and as I said above I’m proud of the team.

  24. Obviously the plan was to hold them for as long as possible. Almost got to half time like that. Slightly more adventurous in the second half but they are the top team in the country. Nothing to see here. Big team beats wee team. Move along.

  27. I think with most of the posts being depressing and repetitive regarding the way this season has panned out, there hasn't been too much to get excited about, hence the lack of any content from a lot of posters, me included. Things have been so bad that you feel like you are just constantly posting about the same topics all the time. Apart from the last couple of results, this season has been a very hard watch, and I think that has certainly affected the amount of posters on here, and I've also noticed it on Facebook.

  36. It's a wind up, taking the **** our of clowns who spent more time on here fussing about celtuc fans getting tickets when we could never sell our own and highlighting just how pathetic club attempts to stop either re-selling or some ict fans bringing celtic 'pals' Was always going to happen and as expected nothing was done about it on the day and nothing will be done postbevent either. Some of our fans need to lighten up and understand online sarcasm.......

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.
