  1. My dad took me to this game when i was a youngling! Anybody got any info on the match re Teams, was it a Testimonial or pre season friendly. All i remember about it was it was midweek and at night. Must have been early 80's
  2. I agree with your post Smee! Too many whingers for my liking. I keep meaning to post the conversation I had with some Aberdeen fans in a Glasgow pub after the LC final! They reminded me that their own team came from a merger with 2 local clubs (albeit not a bitter one) and it took some 40 odd years for them to get to a major final so we should be happy & proud that we did it in 20. I don't even think Aberdeen were in the top division either?? Top 6 and a cup final is a great season for us but I would happily give that away if we managed to increase and maintain a larger fan base. Glory is nothing if you don't have the fans to witness it.
  3. I remember well the Partick fans joining us away at Clyde because they didn't want them going up! I'm sure they thought we wouldn't be allowed promotion because of the 10,000 all seater rule meaning their safety in the SPL bottom spot.
  4. Still on FM13 with Saint Ettiene
  5. Any one got any old punk or New Wave music badges lying in a box. I collect & trade in badges so i'm always on the look out for them; particularly Damned badges. If you have any you want rid off, sell or want to swap then message me here or at [email protected] Anything considered so if your not sure if your badges are new wave, rock or pop then message me anyway Cheers Chris
  6. So is the 3 league places made up of 2 SPL league position & 1 x Cup winner or is the cup winner place over and above the 3 EL places? Confused as!
  7. Being Edinburgh based, Friday night derby's are out for me!

  10. I'm in the minority with Jeepsaw!
  11. Lets face it! Any future stadium move would be rejected by the Board of Tesco!
  12. a football stadium should be within a city limits not on the outskirts! We are not Inverness-shire CT lol. The Bught being redeveloped as a sporting complex as described by Alex would have been my choice
  13. Strachan has no interest in any teams players in the SPFL apart from Celtic! As for Rangers players! What a joke
  14. am no putting that Dandy Don muck round my neck!
  15. great Idea! Im in
  16. Some great memories listed by all but for me the most memorable moment in ICT history has to be; after months of wrangling, watching a new team; Caledonian Thistle walking out of the tunnel at Telford Street on Aug 13th 1994 to play Arbroath in our first competitive league match and the subsequent 5-2 home win. I was in the Howden end and standing a few feet away were 2 or 3 obvious Thistle fans who quietly booed under their breathe so not to get abuse. Having never stood on this stand before they were clearly nervous as the game went on, but you could feel a change in them as we took Arbroath apart and the ball started to hit the back of the net. By the end they were pretty much cheering the team on. They Believed!
  17. Meh!
  18. Jet Black only plays for a part of the Stranglers set! Seeing as he is 70ish
  19. Everyone is welcome to my flat for a nice cup of tea! Only 10 mins from Fester Road

  21. Who was Assistant under Baltacha?
  22. I'm having trouble remembering all our previous Assistant Managers! Anyone care to remind me?
  23. Robbo for me.
  24. I met Yogi through my job when I first moved to Edinburgh in 1999(He was player with Hibs at the time). He's a really nice bloke and always spent several minutes chatting to me about ICT. I got the impression he had a soft spot for us. My only concern with his appointment would be the loss of the "player network" we had under TB! He has some huge boots to fill as well as a momentum to maintain! Good luck to him!
  25. hmm! I know people who broadcast their own radio shows with Winamp, a mic & Itunes! They don't seem to have any problems with bandwidth etc. The Glensound boxes are a nice piece of kit. Try Moray Firth or BBC Highland. They have kit like that lying about! I'm sure there is a cheaper solutions out there Caley D
