  2. Well done Mr Yogi, well done Russell, Scott, Richie, etc Kenny, Tommy, the Players, receptionists, shop staff, other staff and volunteers.............................and now we need the City and Supporters to take the Club to its zenith. Picture of the year has to be Yogi and his daughters after the Semi.
  3. Having now seen the TV highlights I still feel, like I did yesterday, that Davidson's two legged tackle on David was very very dangerous. A good referee would have been onto the incident immediately and pulled Davidson aside.
  4. In just a few days and his personality has been stamped on Newport!!! "Newport appeals to me like Inverness did because you can rebuild the team and the club. I'm not just the manager, I'm the leader. I'm here to lead the club forward on and off the pitch. There are followers and leaders in football and I'm a leader."
  5. Who was that cowboy???
  6. Ask this question - how successful would McInnes, Neilson and Deila been if they had managed ICT instead of Yogi? McInnes is a whinger, Neilson is fresh faced and very good but would not have achieved the turnaround at ICT that Yogi has achieved, and Deila is a nice guy but backed by millions and millions of pounds.
  7. Renegade has written Newport a very fair reference. Deep down Butcher compares himself with a Beckham or W Rooney in an England sense but managerially has been an abject failure with few exceptions. Raith have just sacked their Manager so it will be interesting to see if Maurice Malpass as DOF at that club now becomes Manager. Butcher's ego at Hibernian took them on an incredible downward spiral. Newport have ambitions to go in the opposite direction and it is a surprise that Butcher still believes he can man manage after the utter disaster he had in Edinburgh. David Cameron will give him a good reference. I have relatives in Newport so trust you make the right choice.
  8. It is premature to talk about Europe just yet - we have had problems qualifying in the last two years. If we lose against St Johnstone they are back on their annual charge. Losing against Dundee United on Tuesday would be unthinkable.
  9. Being born and brought up as a Jambo I have great admiration for both Jamie Walker and Sam Nicholson. I was also at school with Sam's dad. Ryan is a great talent and thoroughly deserves the nomination. However I cant help feeling that the West Central Belt bias will see Denayer win it. I hope I'm wrong though. Question i have is, should loan players even be allowed to be nominated since they are coming from a higher level of club. ''Question i have is, should loan players even be allowed to be nominated since they are coming from a higher level of club.'' Surely that's a question for the Compliance Officer - he dabbles in many things.

  11. Regardless of conspiracy theories, here we have Scotland football's top legal adviser not even knowing the basics of his job. He cannot read and was made to look completely stupid before the tribunal was due to start. The process was abandoned because of his incompetence. Based on TV evidence it is impossible to blame Alan Muir. His view is completely obstructed by Leigh Griffiths. Even the referee has just the same nanosecond as Josh to assess if the ball hit his hand or head. I do not regard what he did as a mistake. He was not certain, asked Alan Muir and possibly the linesman and none could see what those higher up in the stadium, or on TV could see. As for conspiracy theories, remember that Yogi is always trying to outwit Mr Ranger!!
  12. They should have consulted their referee's sponsors - Specsavers! Not a contract they want to lose. Plenty of material for 'Only an Excuse' but what a disgraceful way to treat ICT.
  13. Brilliant news. I wonder how Specsavers reacted!
  14. Josh has an exemplary disciplinary record this year with regard to bookings. He is an honest guy.
  15. Falkirk need to beat Rangers away and Hibs at home to stand a chance of a top four finish. QOS have Dumbarton at home and Livingston away. With a far superior goal difference to Falkirk, they basically need one more point. With QOS qualifying for fourth, Falkirk will have four weeks before their next competitive game i.e. the cup final. They should certainly be rested!!
  16. 2008-09 23 May – Falkirk beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1–0 to stay in the SPL and relegate Inverness to the First Division on goal difference. 24 May – Rangers are crowned Scottish champions after beating Dundee United 3–0, Celtic drew 0–0 with Heart of Midlothian so Rangers won by 4 points. 30 May – Rangers won the Scottish Cup beating Falkirk 1–0 in the final thanks to a goal from substitute Nacho Novo just after half-time. Yogi engineered that!!!
  17. Dundee United will be writing to the SFA every week if they lose to question decisions and with their lawyers will win the League next year. We do not need an artificial pitch next season if ALL results are to be decided by the Compliance Officer. We need to spend money on good lawyers.
  18. Bring back Billy - who is to say Edward and Tomo will not sight up for next year and get their fitness ready for a complete season?
  19. I would settle for just 7 more points - two home wins against Dundee United and one draw against Celtic away to deny them the Championship..
  20. He was politely advised by Yogi that he missed giving us a penalty in the league cup final when Considine shoved Richie who potentially had a free header on goal. Let's hope he redeems himself with 5 minutes to go on Sunday. He is a pretty fair and calm referee though.
  21. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32297228 Barnsley are hoping to beat Hearts to the signature of Inverness winger Marley Watkins. The 24-year-old Englishman is out of contract at the end of the season and has already knocked back a lucrative offer from Polish side Slask Kracow. (Daily Express)
  22. One of the interesting comments to come out of the Saturday game was that Celtic would have more space available on the Hampden pitch. From what UI can find, the dimensions of the two pitches is identical. Sunday's weather forecast looks to be sunny with lower wind speeds. Given the way we played at the beginning of the season and throughout January that should not disadvantage us. Thank goodness we are not on course for the treble!!
  23. It would be interesting to look at their accounts. That said, their current performances are superb in any one's book, and in inspiring Motherwell, they have put the absolute skitters up Partick Thistle. Long may their stop and start financial investments continue.
  24. Shinnie was outstanding today. We did not have the cutting edge even if we appeared to be the better team. In the last two seasons we have not finally had the bottle foe Euro place. Now is the time to dig ourselves out of a rut.
  25. The big issue about the semi final is not about ticket prices or transport but the fact that we remain in the SHADOW of Ross County in the Scottish Cup!!! They have beaten Celtic in the semi final be we have not.
