http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23764163 This was a very good result for Stranraer in front of a very small crowd. Do not underestimate either team because both will be highly motivated after the reply and with 9 weeks to go plus potentially adverse winter conditions we might find this is a very difficult tie. Should they sneak a result at Stranraer on the 10th December, Jim Duffy will prove a pretty shrewd manager for Clyde against us with the legend that is Chic Charnley.

Matchday Thread Inverness CT -V- Greenock Morton
CELTIC1CALEY3 replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
Marley has taken a little while to get up to speed, but he is now looking a classy player. He was a little lethargic in the first half, but in the second really shone. Polworth in general improved quite a bit on his debut at St Johnstone. We should not read too much into headlines suggesting we had an easy passage. Dean Brill made a critical save early in the first half from Novo and we can be grateful he was flagged offside when he 'scored.' In general Morton were a poor team but we kidded ourselves when we suggested the need to get early goals on the board. The two penalties were clear fouls but in years gone by were not given to us. We will need to up our game in the next round especially if we draw Albion Rovers. They have just knocked out the third best team in Scotland at present. The next round is on the 8th February after our cup semi. What chance Hibs away but at a sensible kick off time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- 70 replies

The politics here are quite intense. I am sure the SPFL did not want to lose TV money and for Hearts wanted to maximise their income streams. The SPFL is probably more worried that Hearts actually survive first. According to their Administrator, that is far from certain and technically they could go to the wall before the Semi. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25156354 "I've got to convince them that the shares essentially have no value in terms of the club being in administration with a massive amount of debt," explained Jackson. "But, of course, we require them for technical purposes; the purposes of the CVA, but they'll have to be convinced that that's correct and they'll have to satisfy their own creditors. "In some respects it's a big obstacle and it's a difficult one to predict because we're dealing with different legislation, a different country and different administrator, who has their own duties, their own obligations to their creditors and their court.''

Who would Richie and the players want to lead them? I cannot find any record of Richie and Hartley falling out in games.

Has Butcher perhaps come crawling back and asked for his job back feeling he made a horrible mistake? We did well to get rid of those who had become de-motivated and in the process securing some cash!!! Now it is about getting the best having cleared away the deadwood.

Ross County release Xmas Video
CELTIC1CALEY3 replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in General Nonsense
When Adams goes head to head with the Butcher next Saturday, deep inside his head will be the BBC video of ICT equalising in the last second of last year's Cup match when he had already celebrated a victory. Ross County Wanderers are likely to be wound up and with three sendings off in the last two games, a fourth or fifth is not unlikely. With Butcher in the dugout again, the chances of a good rammi could mean an addition to the Coca Cola video. There are bound to be fireworks in next week's video. It will be strange for Terry, Mo and Steve to head past our stadium and in some ways it would be fitting for them to head back empty handed although we have to be ready for Morton and to stop Doug Imrie shooting from distance. -
Nick Ross took a sore one in the mouth yesterday and Aaron was injured so it may not be a simple team selection. Celtic underestimated Morton earlier this season. We do so at our peril.

Hibs have a really easy Scottish Cup tie next weekend. If yon Derek loses against Hearts on Saturday and falls to a capital double defeat, he might be looking over his shoulder. Then we can start a Derekwatch instead.

Wolves 1 Oldham 2 Rooney sinks Leigh's Wolves in FA Cup - Substitute Adam Rooney, a 67th minute replacement for Clarke-Harris, hit a superb angled strike into the far bottom corner of the net from the right corner of the box after fellow sub Sidney Schmeltz broke down the right from a Wolves attack and switched the play.

http://www.alloaathletic.co.uk/BlogView.aspx?pageid=2&ItemID=697&mid=2 In terms of compensation this pair would cost quite a bit. Which quality unemployed football manager has a holiday home in Inverness?

Absolutely fantastic news if Craig Levein has deemed himself above us. Scotland may well be seeing his true character. I like this bit from Wiki:''It was not just injuries that kept Levein from playing during his time at Hearts; he was once given a 12-game ban after punching, and breaking the nose of, Hearts teammate Graeme Hogg during a pre-season friendly against Raith Rovers.'' Butcher just broke doors as far as we know.

Easy win for Hibs unfortunately. Butcher and Malpass could not have asked for an easier tie. Ross County Wanderers are struggling a bit without Munro and Tokley. Their Manager has drifted into the supernatural after initially suggesting Goodwin was handy around the box. https://twitter.com/Glasgowbud1965/status/402522308121595904/photo/1

Tweets Terry Butcher @TerryButcher_11 Nov I enjoyed my time @ICTFC however as I head towards retirement I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet down in the bottom six. Butcher has come to terms with life on a much larger salary and access to the Capital's wine bars!! Steve Marsella not currently listed as a Hibee coach: http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/page/CoachingStaff/0,,10290,00.html ...but he remains on the ICT Management listing : http://ictfc.com/club/football-management Goalkeeping Coach/Chief Scout - Steve Marsella Just found the Hibs initial draft CV for TB: Terry Butcher was appointed Hibernian manager on Tuesday 12 November 2013 after getting bored with Inverness. Formerly manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Butcher, 54, has a wealth of managerial experience from a range of sackings all over England and Australia. Former England captain Butcher won the UEFA Cup and FA Cup while as a player with Ipswich Town and enjoyed trophy-laden success during his time with Rangers. As a Manager he has had little success and tends to panic and apply for other jobs if the team excels. Energetic, ego enthusiast and focused, Butcher led Inverness into the top-six during the 2012/13 season, bottled their Euro dreams before being appointed manager of Hibernian. This followed their annual AGM manager panic attack following a Malmo humiliation and the regular Hearts humping.
