  1. Rangers should be docked three points - one of their employees has cheated to gain an unfair advantage. Surely the SPL can dock points for this?
  2. We have to praise Falkirk to the hilt. They look as though they will sell out their cup final tickets by tomorrow. The cockier they get the better for us but Yogi is a very clever manager. For a while Butcher pulled us out of a hole but the same can be said for what happened to Dunfermline a few years back. He has experienced last day traumas at Ipswich and I believe Rangers. We have yet to experience that pain but hopefully nobody at the club is in denial. Barrowman owes us one good goal. Lionel will want to atone for his sending off in the Cup. Rooney owes us a goal after his bad luck against them in the CIS Cup. Every player has to be on top form and we do need the supporters out. They may never ever see an SPL game in Inverness again.
  3. Glen Mhor, David Sutherland has saved the club on more than one occasion and put in a significant amount of effort and cash which people do not see. It is inappropriate to be abusive with him now. It is possible he was part of the error of judgement this season with the placid new Chairman and extended loyalty to Brewster and Thomson. Professionally he with others can be criticised for that. He has worked his way up in life and on a different scale epitomises the rise of ICT. Neither his demise nor ICT's is yet fact.
  4. Juanjo suffered the same fate. We probably lost because Lennon's dreadful action was seen as allowable by the governing bodies. Lafferty knew today he could act like this. Russell tried this against Falkirk and was rightly ridiculed. We can but hope that the ruling bodies take ruthless action and send a message to all players in Scotland that if evidence is found to show no contact the player will get a 5 match suspension plus community service.
  5. Denis Law, Bobby Charlton and George Best with McCreadie, Chopper Harris and Charlie Cook in opposition
  6. If we have a range of permutations just to survive look at the paranoia and denial here: http://www.followfollow.com/news/loadnews....W&id=447428 Conspiracy Theory Number 1 Grant Munro's header did not cross the line but the Highlanders are an honest bunch so give them the benefit of doubt. Conspiracy Theory Number 2 Novo scores, the linesman is about to give it, but a mystery voice in his head says 'It's only Rangers and they do not deserve the title because Barry likes his drink'.
  7. So the excitement continues. We do not want St Mirren to draw or beat Falkirk this weekend. Hamilton entertain their neighbours Motherwell and I suspect a draw will be the result. We go to Killie with a very good record against them. They appear safe now but will want a result to get revenge and safety. Another draw would be fantastic and if as I have predicted for a while Falkirk hammer St Mirren we would have survived. However, one of my abiding memories at ICT was taking the lead againgst Killie in the Scottish Cup with less than a minute to go and seeing Gus MacPherson head to the byline as our players were disorganised following their premature celebrations and chipping it over for Jimmy to knock it up and see it drop almost on the line for Killie to equalise with the last kick of the game. We lost the reply. Butcher has had last day horrors in his career. So going into the last game Hamilton may be safe as they entertain St Mirren. St Mirren are probably due a break but I hope it is not at our expense after the recovery work put in by the new management team, players and supporters. It would be wonderful to entertain Falkirk in the week before they win the Scottish Cup with both teams safe and able to relax. Where is the Brahan Seer when you need him?
  8. Butcher ignores warning that the 10 out of contract players at St Mirren plus Hamilton and Ross with injuries might not turn up to hear his inspirational Panda jokes. Gus MacPherson agrees to take photograph for Paisley Advertiser.
  9. AM, A bit of both. Terry says we must finish the job early. The problem is that every game demands enormous effort so we are perhaps underestimating he hungerwe need to survive. We made an error for the corner and lost two vital points. Offiong could have snached our point at the end. A point against Motherwell will be priceless. We should look no further than this game. It woul be fantastic if Hamiton beat Fakirk and illie beat St Mirren. We cannot rely on that happening. I woul expect a few changes against Moterwell.
  10. Today's results confirm we have 5 teams who can still be relegated. My worry is that we have become a bit complacent. Failure to take a point tomorrow will be an utter disaster. Falkirk know that one win takes them above us if we lose. Hamilton will clearly want to win tomorrow because they currently have the worse goal difference. Mid week they entertain Falkirk, while we have a difficult game at Motherwell. We may need to be aggressive given their position on fair play requires them to stay squeaky clean. If Killie beat St Mirren they will be virtually safe. If we have two poor games we could still be close to St Mirren come next Saturday. It worries me that we have won 4 out of 4 with Killie because next Saturday may be the crunch game for us. 5 out of 5 seems highly unlikely. As I said before, I think Falkirk v St Mirren has just one winner. If St Mirren lose their other game a draw tomorrow and two during the week ahead would save us. Like everyone I desperately hope tomorrow is the day we see our team produce a great performance helped on by the best crowd they have had this year. None of us should underestimate Hamilton because Motherwell and Kilmarnock away are not easy fixtures. Falkirk are doing well and I continue to believe thay will not be relegated. I hope they hammer St Mirren and Hamilton.
  11. Are we buying him a crate of red wine if he keeps us up? Might be an extra task for the walkers to perform by delivering it - maybe Tesco would give us a quality box of reds for him!
  12. It is fascinating to look through their forum and Rossco is the Big Thug. Having said that, many of them like his never say die attitude. This is from a true football fan and he or she is to be congratulated for their dignity in defeat 'To be fair, I'm going to give a special mention to the ICT fans. That wee group sang their heart out for 90 minutes. Even though I'm gutted and angry about the result as anyone, their team deserved to win and it was nice to see at least one group of genuine fans go home happy. '

  14. Pschology! Airdrie supporters when leading Division 1 and Caledonian were Highland League indicated 10-0 would be the cup result - real result Caledonian won on penalties. When Celtic entertained the modestly placed ICT a few days after a Lisbon Lions tribute game, they felt 10-0 was reasonable. This season we have underestimated every team virtually as Brew's ego took over his whole life. We are now showing all teams tremendous respect. So for his first post, it was very clever. Hopefully he convinces Hamilton that McCarthy and Offiong will run riot next Sunday whilst privately an ambush is organised.
  15. If I am right, Exeter start with 10 points more than their Flybe sponsored 'near' neighbours next year unless they win an appeal. Quite remarkable! Plymouth will be in their sights next.
  16. If Falkirk win next week, history will almost certainly be made.
  17. After an amazing win against the Pandas it does feel like the best SPL relegation battle ever. However, we remain in deep trouble and I expect the team to train very hard this week because we cannot afford to lose against Hamilton. Whilst everyone will want a win, I feel a draw could be a very good result. My prediction at the beginning of April was that Falkirk would survive but that it would be St Mirren who fell through the trap door. Next week Arfes is out for Falkirk and Kyle comes back for Killie. Falkirk will not be so quick off the blocks and may lose this game. St Mirren entertain Motherwell who they recently hammered and who they beat in a boring Cup Quarter Final. Expect Motherwell to wake up and do the business. If St Mirren lose, and there is a sense of fear creeping into their play, they then play Killie away. That will not be easy. Luckily Falkirk go to Hamilton because we make the difficult journey to Motherwell. A draw would be the least Motherwell could offer their previous favourite sons. Assuming St Mirren remain 3 points ahead of Falkirk, and I suspect they will at least pick up a point at Hamilton, the Pandas may become as nervous as pigs with fever symptoms. They then travel to Falkirk and I see one winner. Yogi pummels the Panda. So without getting cocky, I predict St Mirren will be bottom going into the last game. They play Hamilton who should be safe. We play Falkirk and we may be 3 points ahead of St Mirren with probably a similar goal difference. I did not mention the Killie game because most of our supporters expect a win after 4 wins so far this season. Sadly we are unlikely to win again. Hopefully Falkirk will in fact be equal on points with us but ahead on goal difference. A nervy draw on the last day might be enough. St Mirren must surely feel slightly nervous tonight but we must not get cocky.

  19. The team have never really let the City down since the initial tentative steps into League Division 3. I certainly recall the Cup victory over Celtic but then no one gave us a chance. In terms of pressure the win at Clyde as we clawed back the points in Division 1 was critical. Playing in Aberdeen in front of modest crowds was a remarkable experience for the Diddy Team. I am sure everyone has their memory of a key moment in our history as the lads begin the difficult task of getting points on the board starting this Saturday. Good luck lads, we know you can do it and make the City and most of the Highlands proud.
  20. The problem is that football is played on grass and has multivariate factors influencing results. Dargo I think you will find is injured so your team talk begins with an error. The sentiment is well intentioned.
  21. I believe Falkirk will survive. They will get out of the blocks all guns blazing. He who hesitates is lost. He who is cocky goes, he who underestimates goes. One of the bottom five beyond Falfirk is in for a shock if they prepare for the split badly.
  22. I think Falkirk believe they have had the best season in their history. But I see an ex-ICT player who will spike them for beating us 4-0. 'The Bayne of the Bairns Cup Defeat as the Pars win third Semi in a row'. I see that player having his Ibrox goal for ICT played over and over before the cup final. I see two other ICT players combining to score against Rangers. I see Boyd replying and Mendes scoring. I see both losing teams saying they will now concentrate on the league. I see ICT deciding it is time to pull out the finger and in their next match holding St Mirren for 92 minutes until Ross Tokely comes up for a corner, makes a hash of a header but Denzil collides with Dargo and Jim Hamilton heads a dramatic winner for Butcher's boys. I see Falkirk winning their first split game 4-0 and frightening the hell out of ICT at half time. The moral of this story is that in the absence of a real game pundits emerge and completely get predictions wrong. It is easy to play football from an armchair.
  23. Just for the statistics, what is our post split record. I know one year we managed 15 under Charlie.
