Johnny Hayes injured?
Agree with the above, Jonny was less than "at his best" on saturday. If anything, he looked as if the game passed him by until he gave himself a bit of a shake in the last 15 minutes or so. I don't think any of us (including Jonny at times) knows what he's going to do next, but he's worth keeping on the field just in case. He was getting a bit like that in the Hibs game if you remember the pass back, so a wee rest might not be a bad thing right now.

Hearts -V- Inverness CT : Matchday Thread
Gordy That was my boy. He came in the first time with me, wasn't drinking. The second time, he came back with his mate who was. He was looking for money from me (again!) and I left with him at this point. There was no hassle, he just didnae want to get left on his own. He's a 17 yo chancer as well, but there you are. I'll e-mail the wifie at Diggers and sort it out. Kids, who'd have them.

Jeezo, I must have missed all this despite not being far away from this. Doofer, the guy with the flag and his mate were on the wind up. Flagman was just conforming to the "hun lite" stereotypeand the odd surreptitious nazi salute kinda gave it away. I'd suggest that that flag has other, almost universally understood, connotations in the central belt but hey, If you give it, you gotta take it. I don't think that "ten quid in tesco's" was a terrible thing to shout at some rotund ned in a vomit yellow trackie top. We need to chill people, it's that time of year.

Hearts -V- Inverness CT : Matchday Thread
That was some game, I've no idea how we got away with some of the second half. Russel Duncan was my MOTM, but everyone played out of their skins. I particularly loved the Jambo with the ulster flag and his mate with the yellow tracksuit. Nice. Also liked TB's comment on the radio about Rosscoe not deserving a headband 'cause he only had one stitch. Still, managed the whole game this time but I lost Maimie at the end. Has anyone seen her since? (only kidding, she was off on a mission) Now, how do I keep going to away games without that daft hat? I'm scared to ditch it now!

Integrity
I can't figure the thread title - what evidence is there for a lack of integrity from Calumn Murray? He made mistakes and plenty of them , but the title suggests that he was in some way dishonest and for that there is not the slightest shred of evidence. "it was if it was an afterthought" for Miller's booking. Where is the evidence for this? Tell you what big man, leave this stuff for the likes of Lennon to spout. I want no part in it and neither, I would suggest, does anyone else in these parts.

Why is it so quiet?
2-1 home win. Foran and Rooney to score. Rooney scores a last minute penalty awarded by the late replacement referee, Mr. O'Flaherty of Dublin.

Rangers Preview & Report
Oi! who's this maryhill laddie anyway? The "smart" money (well, paul chalk but you can't have everything) says a 1-1. So does a gambling genius relative, but you know I can't see past Foran AND Rooney scoring, so it's a 2-1 for me. as for match previews, the SPL only postponed the United game because they saw how "inspirational" my preview was. Possibly.

Saturday's Ref
You must be either related or attend the same lodge dougal Dougal, we don't need embroiled in any refernces to "lodges" or any other central belt sectarian references, given recent events. Have a red dot, you deserve one.

Time to make a stand?
Droll, droll. Have a green dot for that reply. I love the Alex Ferguson comparison - he's the very reason that everyone that follows him is fecked before they start at that miserable, useless excuse of a club. I hope they appoint someone more useless than Muttley, who can preside over their inevitable plummet into Div. 1 and we can watch Milne implode. I'll go to their game at C*unty, gladly pay my money and laugh like a drain for the whole 90 minutes. Now that would be entertainment.

Time to make a stand?
Can someone explain to me why Butcher would want to go to a club with crap players, crap board, crap support, no money and an overinflated ego that lives on the "glory" of one cup in the eighties? No? I'll take it that he's staying then. BTW, if there would be anyone less popular than an ex-h*n captain at pitoddrie, it would be an ex-arab captain. Case feckin rested.

Matchday Thread : Celtic -V- ICT
I resisted the temptation to ask if you had sent them. Honestly, it was pathetic. I'd been really angry since they chucked the boy out, I was worried about where he was etc., so I didn't really enjoy any of the game. They were the final straw. Met Rosscoe in the London Road after the game, he was "mildly" chuffed by pulling it back, and a whole road of support was shouted out of yon hun bar down the road. Hearts will be better, thanks for aw yer support n' sympathy. Grow up Johndo? I'll give that a miss, it sounds boring.

Matchday Thread : Celtic -V- ICT
Not long back, and I can now post what was an opinion of most of the match. You can read anywhere what happened on the field and good it was, but the treatment of our fans by the stewards reached new lows today. At the age of 52, I was thrown out of a ground for the first time for questioning a steward. My son was ejected in the first half, for "standing on the seats" or "being abusive" or "refusing to sit down" depending on what steward I spoke to. I think he was the 5th. Being unable to get a coherent answer, I asked 6 times to speak to a supervisor, who answered every question that i had with " are you calling me a liar?" I lasted until just after McCourt's goal, when I went to the loo. I was followed there by stewards, who told me "we were waiting for you, you teuchter *******" and ejected me. I missed our goals. After spending in excess of ?100 on a day out, these people ruined it for no good reason. Celtic, you really are shameful. I've gone to footie i this country since 1965, and I've never felt so down about it. And yes, I'll be compaining.

Celtic Preview & Report
Your next challenge, Alternative Maryhill, is to do a Dundee Utd preview in the style of McGonagall. "Twas in the year of nineteen hundred and ninety-four When a team from the north knocked on the SFL's door" Yngwie, that's my job! I was actually brought up in a tenement flat in Dundee that William Topaz McGonagall lived in. No kidding. My Dad always reckoned that I talked a load of sh*te because I'd been infected by the place. Poetry, it'll be the death of me.

Our Prayers Could be Answered
If people no longer trust the referee and want technology, the whole of the game suffers from Albania to Zambia. The referee is, in the eyes of the game "the sole arbiter of fact" because someone has to take a definitive stance on a matter of perception. Lennon has a perception about the tannadice penalty, so has Peter Houston. The referees statement should be the final and incontrovertable fact. It's the same at the bught park, with the important factor of no cameras, inflated egos, audience ratings, advertising or vast wages at stake. And yet the referee will still get the same amount of stick for doing what the laws of the game require him to do. The reason is that the agenda in this case has nothing to do with football. It is about a club that feels it is bigger than the scottish game attempting to drive an agenda based on innuendo and whispers because it is driven by the same imperatives as above. A protestant conspiracy? Please. Dougie MacDonald still has to go, even if his "lie" is as trivial as mine is every night when I'm asked if I did the dishes yet. But not now, as the purveyors of the major untruths in this will scent blood and feel that they are above the laws of the game. Scottish football deserves better.

Our Prayers Could be Answered
I'm not surprised by the silence so far from SPL/SFA, the last thing that's needed is a knee jerk reaction into an already volatile situation. It needs statesmanship and there seems to be a complete lack of that right now. What angers me most is that "Celtic would welcome the strike" I'm sure that they would, not least because a potentially tricky fixture on Saturday gets put on the back boiler and gives Lennon another couple of weeks on the training ground to sort out his underachieving employees. And all because they have engineered this situation with a snide campaign of backhanded inuendo. Shame on them. Lennon and Reid should not be allowed to get away with this, and it is to them that any compensation claims from fans should be directed. Sorry, forgot - since when did they give a monkeys about fans of scottish football. The sooner they get relocated to the EPL (wherre they want to be and everything is rosy) the better .:annoyed:

Our Prayers Could be Answered
As an occasional, unpaid and admittedly shoite referee I'm fully with the guys in the middle. I don't know what makes otherwise responsible people act like utter lunatics on a football field. I don't know what makes them think they can speak to me the way that some do. I don't know why I volunteer for the job! Anyway it would be ironic if the game at the home of the team acting most reprehensibly in this whole thing was called off, because I think all the advantage would be theirs. We are on a roll, they are not. We are the more motivated team for this game and we should have the biggest travelling support for a while behind the team. Lennon will be chuffed to bits. They should simply call him in and ban him for as many games as are required and make sure that he and Dougie MacDonald don't cross paths again this season. Dougie can then be quietly demoted in the close season; you just can't lie in his position. John Reid merits no response really, can you imagine our chairman behaving like that? Far from being the oppressed that the arrogant weegies portray themselves as, they are trying to drive the agenda again. I hope we don't let them.

Which would you prefer?
Mahonio - agreed. As I've said elsewhere, I genuinely believe this side to be on the cusp of something special in terms of achievements, style and ability. We'll not win the league, but anything else is possible as long as we don't sell the family silver. It is a "pele-esque" style that has matured since we were relegated and shows no signs of stopping. It reminds me of an 80's "corner shop" team managed by a guy with similar charisma to TB who was able to find stellar local talent, rescue underachievers from elsewhere and mould them into smething great. Who did Mo play for again?
